Note from the OP: We haven't had good baseball concepts in a while on here (no offense anyone) and it's that time of year again to start up. So I thought I would lead off and start a brand new series. I have progressed majorly since my last baseball concepts. Links below. I got new templates, better tools, more experience, and better feedback. Not just 30 ppd noobs who joined a week ago. Sometimes even veteran posters comment on my work, and I am very grateful. So um...thanks for all that. Onto the concept. This is going to be a redesign of every team in the CWS last summer by region. I am starting off with the Coral Gables, Florida Regional (No, I did not choose that one so I can actually share an ECU concept I made, there are lots of them, it was completely random-ish, I picked an adidas team to showcase my new template on), and the 1 seed and host team Miami Hurricanes. Yes, every team will have adidas as their manufacturer. Here'sthe Canes of Miami! Next we head to Greenville, NC to take on the currently #19 (shameless plug), and 2 seed East Carolina Pirates!
I did a series of NCAA baseball concepts this time last year; I did the entire SEC as well as many other NCAA baseball programs. You can see that thread here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/96379-ncaa-baseball-sec-is-complete/ This year, I will revisit the SEC concepts on hopefully improve on them. The first two I've done are Mississippi State and Arkansas, both of which I am very happy with. -- Mississippi State has the potential for a great baseball uniform set. They look good as it is, but a few simple tweaks and they could have a classic, untouchable look. Here, I've introduced a new, consistent number font. That same font has been applied to the "Mississippi State" wordmark and has been used to create a new "Bulldogs" wordmark. A Mississippi patch has been added to the sleeve of each jersey. The white and maroon jerseys remain with the modified wordmark and number font. The pinstripe and maroon MS jerseys also remain, with the only change being the updated number font. The "Bulldogs" wordmark is applied to the cream jersey and to a new gray away jersey. These changes, I believe, would unify Mississippi State's baseball brand. Adidas would be allowed to introduce two crazy alternates a year, for use in the SEC tournament only. I based Arkansas on their Nike rebrand from this past summer. The classic A logo stays, and the new Razorback logo has been added to the sleeve as a patch. The number font has been updated; the new slanted wordmarks seem tailor-made for baseball.
