  1. I've done many "Vintage Style College Mascots" and as the NFL season gets started I was thinking of what their logos/mascots might look like if they had been created in the style of Arthur Evans. I don't plan on directly using any mascot/logo looks (college or NFL) that are already out there (example: using Pistol Pete for the Dallas Cowboys). However, I may take inspiration from bits or pieces of them. Over the next few weeks/months I'll be adding my newest iterations, please let me know what you think with your comments and/or likes. First up: Minnesota Vikings
  2. Discrim

    Eagles concept

I figure it happens to all of us eventually...the muse simply hasn't been there lately. That is, until I sketched a few ideas down...and realized I was sitting on an Eagles set I not only never posted, but had left unfinished until now. Two tone green, as kelly green returns as the primary hue, with midnight green remaining as trim. Silver returns, albeit with a greenish tint. The jersey and pants blend a few eras: the pants are from the Cunningham era, the shoulder stripe-cuff combo is from the late 60s, albeit colored in a different manner than that set had been (and I may have had King Corcoran on my mind a little bit, too), and then the chest striping is from the Jaworski era's sleeves, also seen on the socks. Both of the alts are throwback inspired, the third being a tweaked version of the 40s greens, with plain silver pants and a little addition to the yoke-stripe, alluding to the helmet's wings; the heritage uniform is loosely based on something the Eagles' predecessors, the Frankford Yellow Jackets, had worn early in their time in the NFL, hence their YFJ monogram on the back of the jersey. Sleeve stripes were turned into wings, largely for the hell of it.
  3. I think the Eagles have a great logo and I'm a big fan of their midnight green color, but I think they just have too much going on with black, charcoal gray and silver accompanying the green. In my opinion, the Eagles look best when they are wearing only green, silver and white, so this concept is more of a clean-up than a full on rebrand. I was also inspired by what the Detroit Lions did with their logo an uniforms this past season. Those are not perfect, but I really like the idea of what the Lions did. Here's my take on the logo: nothing too exciting, the green is a touch more green and the black is gone. The new wordmark is my take on a simpler, less "XTREME" version of the current wordmark and is more in line with the contemporary branding in the NFL: bold, single color lettering with some serifs and a bridge shape to give it some character. Here are the new home and road uniforms. Less is more as the uniforms are reminiscent of the current duds but are without the needless clutter of superfluous colors and embellishment. The Color Rush uniform is gray in the same style of the primary uniforms and the regular alternate uniform is a midnight green version of the classic throwback uniforms thanks to the one-helmet rule. So, thats it. Thanks for taking a look and I'm definitely open to any and all C&C and feedback.
  4. Has anyone seen this before. BTW, this is one of my favorite TV preachers whose church is in Chicago and grew up in Canada.!Av7Z8KsJmndYmkr67J0JV6nbyzik
  5. Finally got some time to mess around with these hockey uniform templates. I thought I'd try doing hockey uniform versions of the 4 final teams in the NFL playoffs. Never did a mash up before so thought I'd try it out. Wanted to see what the thoughts were. It's the Patriots, Jaguars, Vikings and Eagles. I took various parts of the design from elements of the football uniform, IE: Pant shell stripes from pants, socks from socks or sleeve striping and jersey elements influenced by the elements on the football jerseys. Really enjoyed doing these and experimenting a bit. I didn't change/adjust any of the team logos. I just used the versions that the teams use in the NFL. Hopefully this works.
  6. Imgur Album Links: Saints Steelers Cowboys Chargers Rams Falcons Packers Jaguars Patriots Eagles With the NFL Playoffs starting today, I decided to mock up some ideas I had for a three NFL Teams: the Saints, Steelers, and Cowboys. I loved the color rush uniforms for both the Saints and Steelers; ideas from both are implemented in these concepts. For the Saints, the concept basically is their color rush; there is no reason they shouldn't adopt that look full time. I simplified their helmet logo a bit and brought back the Louisiana state outline logo as a chest patch. In addition to the white jerseys taken from the color rush set, the concept includes a black jersey with gold-white-gold-white-gold stripes as well as a gold jersey with b-w-b-w-b stripes. An alternate white helmet idea is also shown; it would only be used if the NFL were to lift the one helmet rule, obviously.
  7. (Updated) I have updated the main post so the finalized renderings are seen first. (Still debating over final numbers. Both based off current Eagles font, but modified) Here is the remainder of the blog for how the above were created. Look through and comment I will update the finals if suggestions and changes are warranted. **** ORIGINAL POST BELOW ***** Okay, I've heard lots of talk about modernizing a throwback classic Eagles uniform but haven't seen any good renderings for what the single vision is for this. So, I took the time and created a one. There is too much discussion to me about "Kelly Green". It's more than that. It's bringing back tradition and having an identity that the loyal fan base can relate to. Lots of Kelly Green advocates seem to just want the "old" back. And this annoys the Millennials who don't care about the past...preferring cool. I just want green back (not some hipster made up color) and would love to see a return of silver. To me, the Eagles' colors should be green, silver and white. Agree??? I feel these would be some of the best uniforms in football...home or away. Your input is appreciated to fine tune them. Notes: Green - Not Kelly (50/60s), and not as dark as 80's. Hopefully modernly in between (jersey would have modern shiny shoulder/chest) Silver - The silver has a slight green tint to make it unique (pants would be shiny material) No black - removed from wing logo (any black seen is outline of drawings only) Facemask - Gray, not shiny silver Concept - Closest is Vick era throwback 50's (with shoulder stripes everyone comments on), mixed with the 80's (without overdoing the stripes), and utilizing modern helmet wing and materials
  8. I put together a golden eagle logo with the hopes of one day getting the school that I work at to give up their Phila. Eagle rip-off. I based it off of an actual golden eagle rather than a bald eagle. Let me know if you think it would be an up or down grade: Here's the rip-off:
  9. This is my attempt at an Eagles logo for a fictional basketball team from Louisville. I am still deciding on colors. C&C is welcome.
  10. Hey guys, I'm new to the site and this is my first post. I was hoping to get some feedback/thoughts on my Philadelphia Eagles Color Rush Concept Uniform. I tried to pay homage to past Eagles uniforms /logos/colors and show them in a more modern light. Your feed back is much appreciated. Try to ignore the fact that it is Tyrod Taylor haha
  11. An edit that combines the colors of the Eagles, old and new. I think I'm one of the only people who actually like the dark green.
  12. The Colorado Eagles have pretty bland designs. (Pictured below) They're not bad, but they don't suit the team, and are definitely not unique. CURRENT JERSEYS: While their logo is nothing special, I figured they should own the three stripes that make up the 'E' in the logo, and also can be seen as wings. I made that the primary striping that wraps around the entire jersey, and I also have 3 jersey sets prepared. I couldn't figure out which pair of pants suited the jerseys best, so I tried all options. (Except for yellow and white, as those would be awful.) For the keen-eyed out there, you may notice the little sublimated 'E' beneath the collar. It's small, and virtually un-see-able, but I figured it's a unique touch that adds on the 'E'-feather identity. Below are some detailed views of the collars. Regardless, vote in the poll above for the best pant color, and let me know what you think! Also, jersey template done by the amazing @timberwolf
  13. Simple, classic, and kelly green!!! Also, the striping is based off the 1980s striping, but I tweaked it and added a grey stripe to the bottom white stripe (green on the away). The lone white stripe felt odd. EDIT: Removed helmet stripe.
  14. I recently did an update/modernization of the Philadelphia Eagles uniforms using the current colors which can be seen here. In the thread I noticed a few people asking for a Kelly Green version or saying that they preferred the Kelly Green over the Midnight Green. Personally I prefer the Midnight Green, I think the Kelly Green should stay in the 70's and doesn't really fit these days unless its as a throwback. The Midnight Green and Black combo not only looks better to me but it also looks a little more intimidating. If you see two guys in a dark alley and one is wearing Kelly Green and Grey and the other is wearing Midnight Green and Black, I'll be more afraid of the guy in Midnight Green. I think that is the type of branding that fits the city of Philadelphia and the Eagles franchise. But that's just my opinion. Either way I think the Kelly green can make a good concept so I threw this together. I tried to give it a classic look while keeping with Nike's mission to make every uniform look cool and new (proof of this mission in Oregon, Jacksonville, and Cleveland). I hope you guys like them, I'm open to any comments or suggestions so fire away.
  15. Ever since the Eagles started using the Nike template with the thicker collar, I thought that the jerseys just looked a bit uneven. So by adding the shoulder bit and the (now extinct) side stripe, I thought it would make jersey look a bit more even in terms of colors if that makes sense. As for the font, the font the Eagles use now is a little outdated I guess and I'm not really feeling it anymore, so I changed it to a more modern look. Finally the helmet, I think a gradient helmet can look good if it is done correctly, so I thought I'd try it with this concept and I think it looks really good. Its tasteful and not as crazy as the Jags helmets. I didn't intend this to be a huge redesign, just an update to modernize the Eagles look under Nike. For a Kelly Green concept, you can find it here
  16. Might as well get things rolling for those teams whose seasons end on Sunday. Multiple sources are saying that Harbaugh is drinking the Wolverine musk and the deal is all but signed. He will address team Sunday, announcement Tuesday at Ann Arbor, according to this reporter Joe Pequeno and a Big 10 guy in Minneapolis Dave Berggren. This leaves the Bears inevitable collapse in a far less amusing position, as they will no doubt hire Shanahan or, hilariously, Dave Toub to be their next head coach. It will all be a smoldering mess for years to come.
  17. I've posted a few of my Eagle concepts before, always pushing to bring back the kelly green. But I've also always gotten rid of the charcoal gray as a given. But then a way to keep both the dark gray and the silver occurred to me... thanks to the recent Tampa By nightmare. And yes, this does involve dark gray pants with a kelly green jersey. Let me know what you think.
  18. Here are six NFL concepts I made. Chargers (revised logo, new uniforms) Lions (new uniforms, revised color scheme) Bengals (revised wordmark, new uniforms) Eagles (new logos and uniforms) Giants (revised uniforms) Steelers (revised logos and uniforms)
  19. so I have decided to re design my football clubs logos and uniforms, these is my first concept using a vector program so there will be a few bits and pieces tat aren't perfect but that's one of the purposes of this. this could end up being a whole league redesign depends on how much time i have over these summer holidays. i decided to start with wordmarks and a monogram logo, just a simple block with a few modifications. im not 100% on the wigs mainly because i cant get the shape right but once i do id like to add them to the monogram. let me know what you think
  20. Made some logo mash-ups. C&C always welcome. If you guys have any other ideas tell me please. First STL, Louisville, and Arizona Cardinals: Second Philadelphia and Boston College Eagle:
  21. Here's two Philadelphia Eagle concepts I've had floating around my desktop for a while. Both are all about bringing back that handsome shade of kelly green, and trading that charcoal gray for silver. The first is basically an older look with the new graphics (current helmet wing, sleeve logo, and number font), while the second is a little closer overall to the current look, just with the better colors replacing the current ugly ones. I'm actually not that in love with the number font, but I just don't really have a decent replacement for it here. And a plain block font seemed a little dull. Anyway, tell me what you think... keep the black, or not? (And, yeah, I know... yellow beak, right? Sue me.)
  22. Thought up this logo from a statue that I saw at 30th St Station in Philadelphia… I think the statue would be a really cool logo so I drew up a concept with Eagles colors. Unfortunately, I dont really know how to use photoshop or illustrator so all of my logos have to be drawn by hand and quality suffers a little bit(the grey is too close in color to black)... This is my first post so any criticism or feedback is really appreciated.
