  1. Back in the autumn of 2016, the remaining Expansion Six all celebrated their 50th anniversaries, and to mark the occasion, I basically did a series split into four parts: the Kings leg, the Blues leg, the Penguins leg and the great North Stars-Seals trainwreck Tonight...we ride again. The Sabres and Canucks turn the big Five-O, and so I am summoned from the scrap heap to commemorate things. As a number of weird things did, we begin in the 70s. The Sabres use their original striping style, but with a slight tweak as I took cues from the white jersey with the differing colorations, and also put the AHL Bisons-inspired Buffalo wordmark to use. The visiting Rangers are in the infamously short-lived 76-78 uniforms, but with the shield from one of their Winter Classic jerseys on the front. The plan is as follows: 80s: vs Bruins (? I'm thinking of going in a different direction, but they're who I have penciled in). The Sabres' crest here will either be the goathead, this past Winter Classic's shoulder logo (in which case this'll be predominantly yellow) or the pre-Edge red jersey's crest. 90s: vs Lightning...I might go with the Buffaslug here. Not sure whether I'll go with their original design or the rain storm jersey for TB. 2K: vs Blue Jackets...honestly...ugh...expectations suck sometimes. Take a wild guess what's coming. 2010s: vs Canadiens...rolling with the Buffalo script template here. I think. Pre-Sabres Heritage: vs Capitals or Penguins Before you ask, there will be a Canucks series too. And yes, there will be flying V.
  2. As in this period so many people seems to be taken into the Star Wars madness I've decided to change the subject of my fantasy league from Star Wars to The Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit world. My Galactic Football League will have to wait a bit more. Why did I choose hockey for my Middle-earth fantasy league? I thought that hockey was the most fitting sport for J.R.R. Tolkien fictional continent as most of his stories take place in dark and cold times full of battles and wars. To me hockey is one of those sports which represents best an ancient battle fight. For these reasons I'm glad to present you the Middle-earth Hockey League (MEHL in short)! Little geographical lesson My hockey league teams will all be based on the geography you can see on maps in Tolkien's most famous books, LOTR and The Hobbit, which are setted in the Third Age of Arda (just because Middle-earth has not been the same shape ever). The whole world which is called Ea or Arda has many different continents but all my teams will be in the Middle-earth continent (also known as Endor, well, not that Endor). League Teams Rohan Riders Helm's Deep Defenders Minas Tirith Monarchs Minas Morgul Nazguls Osgiliath Legion Bree Brewers Rivendell Lords Mirkwood Hunters Moria Forgers Isengard Wild Erebor Mountain Kings Shire Halflings Misty Mountains Avalanche Mordor Black Army Anduin Argonath Ithilien Bowmen Dale Blazers Iron Hills Ironfeet League Map (the image is quite big, I suggest to have a look on full size mode) The league will not have conferences in it and every team will be playing two season games against each other team, one home and one away. There will not be playoffs, the team with the most victories gets the league trophy. In case of an even number of victories of two or more teams the number of draws or losses will be analysed. Hope you enjoy this thread!
  3. Doodling led to some ideas for a bolder, brighter NHL with more attitude so I figured I'd flesh some out, starting with the Lightning. Not sure how many teams I'll do, but it won't be the whole league, just whatever interesting ideas come to me. Also help me name this series once you get the flavor cause I don't know what the heck to call this thing. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching as always!
  4. Welcome to the OHA What if the Winter Classic was every week? What if hockey was played outdoors the way it is supposed to be? In 2009, I fell in love with idea of the Winter Classic. I found it intriguing that my favorite sport’s teams were able to play in the iconic venues of other sports. I loved the throwback sweaters and watched the 24/7 HBO show every year. I agree with most and was not a fan of the addition of the Stadium Series. I too felt that it watered down the event and made it less special. I thought it would be special if all the teams could wait their turn and feel honored when it comes to their city. With that said, in 2009 I went the other way. I thought a great concept series would be if every team played outside…every week. Therefore I present the Outdoor Hockey Association. The OHA's main logo is a face-off circle. The circle making the shape of an "O" and the face-off section forms an "H". Teams The OHA is composed of 24 franchises in North America. 12 franchises are from the United States and 12 are from Canada. There are no divisions, only two conferences (USA and CANADA). Geographically, the OHA is located in colder climates. The southern most city in the OHA is St. Louis. In the coming days I will unveil each team's logos, the reasoning for the identity, and uniforms. All of the identities are completed so this series should move rather quickly. For now...here is a sneak peak at the 24 franchises. Schedule The OHA plays a condensed schedule and more closely resembles an NFL schedule than that of the NHL. Each team plays a 17 game schedule. Each team plays each team in their country-based conference once. This is similar to a college football conference schedule. They then will play three teams from the west and three teams from the east of the other nation’s conference. The schedule begins the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the regular season concludes by the end of February. The playoffs are on the weekends in March. Every New Year’s Day the OHA celebrates hockey everywhere with the Indoor Classic. Venue The premise of the series is that the league has perfected the technology for outdoor hockey. The ice is always perfect and the stands are slightly heated. It is not something I really cared to worry about in this universe. The teams play in some of the most iconic venues in the country. The Series The season is currently underway. After I unveil all of the teams I will post the week by week results of the season up to that point and then update on the results moving forward.
  5. Started this thread so that I don't have to start a new one everytime I post a new concept. Kicking things off are the Nashville Predators! I Kept things pretty simple here, using a pattern inspired by their Reebok jerseys. The pattern is the exact same on all three jerseys. On the alt, I used a recoloured version of their original logo. Any C&C is appreciated!
  6. I'm glad to present you my latest work, a redesign of the Alps Hockey League. This league has 7 austrian, 2 slovenian and 8 italian teams and represents the highest hockey league in Italy, awarding the italian national title. In Austria it's the second tier league after the Österreichische Eishockey-Liga so there are some second teams of more powerful teams like Salzburg and Klagenfurt. The league was created for the 2016-2017 season after the merger of the italian Serie A and austro-slovenian Internatonal League and the first Alps champion was the italian team Rittner Buam. In the 2017-2018 season a second slovenian team was added and the resulting champion was the italian team Asiago Hockey. You can see the map and actual logos of the league (credit to eliteprospects). I decided to redesign the logos of this league, as they mostly felt outdated, and the jerseys too, as they are mainly not related with identity or color palette of their team. Teams in the league: Austria EC KAC II (Klagenfurt) EK Zell Am See EC Red Bull Salzburg II EC Kitzbuehel EHC Lustenau VEU Feldkirch EHC Bregenzerwald (Dornbirn) Italia HC Pustertal/Val Pusteria Rittner Buam (Ritten/Renon) WSV Sterzing/Vipiteno Broncos HC Gherdeina (Selva di Val Gardena) HC Neumarkt/Egna HC Fassa Falcons (Canazei) Asiago Hockey SG Cortina Slovenia HDD Jesenice HK Olimpija (Ljubljana) Here you have my rework of the league logo. I actually quite like their actual logo but I felt like it was important to underline the league different nationalities. The lower logo is for black and white display.
  7. So we learned at this year's NHL Winter Classic that the 2020 Winter Classic will be hosted by the Dallas Stars and held at Cotton Bowl Stadium on new year's day of the new decade. We don't know who they're playing yet however, once we do I'm sure concepts will really start rollin' so I wanted to be one of the first. I selected their opponent as the Minnesota Wild, because right now they're the most popular choice, the backstory's great, and it just... has to happen. Come on, who wouldn't wanna watch two enemy fanbases bicker over history as they stir a cup of cocoa with their last candy cane? I know I would. Plus they're the closest thing the Stars have to a rival rn. Anyway, as usual, the WC branding in my concept is neutral, no team colors. The shape is based off of a mounted animal head plaque, like you'd see on a hunter's wall, only with a freakishly large deer head attached to the front of it. Mounted animal heads, although a tad barbaric, are a symbol of hard-fought victory in the winter, no place more than in Texas, making it a good metaphor for the WC game. The rest of the logo serves as that trophy, in a way, symbolizing two teams hunting a win. The top part part of the badge is shaped like the top of Cotton Bowl stadium's facade and the t part of the "Winter" is a pair of mounted bull horns (nod to the Texas Longhorns) spearing a puck . Making the "Winter" part of the logo icy white and blue just seemed wrong for Dallas, who's not known for its frigid winters, so I opted for cream. The bright orange? I... don't really even know, I just like the boldness of it (TEXAS!!!) and I admit, w/ a touch of shame, I got most of my inspiration from Texas Roadhouse's decor. It's just such concentrated Texas-ness. I hope it works! Dallas' Unis are inspired by the old Dallas Texans and Minny's are kinda... playing North Stars dress-up. The striping's the same from their 60's years. They couldn't get away with any more, but they gotta get a nod in there for spiciness. Thank you so much for watching, let me know what you think, C&C always!
  8. Hey all! This is my second or third try for a concept created on the computer. I have done lots of drawings in the past of all sports. I decided to give the computer another try. About a year ago I created a concept league that was nearly never ending lol. After getting to a good stopping point with the drawings, here are my attempts at some of the teams with the computer. I gave each team 8 uniforms, which I know is a lot but I thought it would add an interesting twist to a pro sports league. Here is the start with the Oakland Icefish paint (home).
  9. Here you have some ideas I developed. They are not your usual Seattle logos and color schemes (maybe not exactly the Tritons...). Hope you enjoy my work, maybe I stretched out too far from the traditional path, let me know.
  10. Yeah, we keep talking about this, yet posting our disjointed HF comments everywhere across the CCSLC spectrum. The launching of this thread is long overdue.
  11. Hello all, I work as a designer for a Jr B hockey team in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. Our league has some horrendous uniforms in my opinion, so I figured I would take a shot at redesigning them. Im starting with the team I am part of, the London Nationals. Actually had the chance to redesign our home and away jerseys, and here is the concept I churned out before the final product. Previous set: Next concept, the Chatham Maroons. Once a Jr affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, I channelled that into a retro inspired third jersey. Previous set:
  12. Hey guys, EJaws here. Im deciding to start a Minnesota High School hockey redesign. Ill be starting with the Metro East conference and we will go from there! LETS MEET THE TEAMS/PLAY HOCKEY! Hastings Raiders [Royal Blue & Gold] Henry Sibley Warriors [Red & Las Vegas Gold?] Hill Murray Pioneers [Green & Black] Mahtomedi Zephyrs [Navy & Gold] North St Paul Polars [ Red & White] Simley Spartans [Blue & Red] South St Paul Packers [Maroon & White] St. Thomas Academy Cadets [Blue & White] Tartan Titans [Black & Blue] To Begin this project i started with remaking the Conference logo. I decide i needed to remake it when the only image I could find was 90x79. I really like the way this logo was going, so I tried to clean it up a bit. OLD LOGO-> NEW LOGO-> CC is appreciated
  13. Hello everyone! I've been a huge fan of college hockey my entire life, going to my first game when I was only 6 Weeks old. I decided to try my hand on redesigning all 60 teams in D1 college hockey. Some teams are just slight updates or even remaining the same for the most part, others are complete overhauls. WARNING: you will see a lot of stripes and script, and no football helmets in this thread! Every team has 4 jerseys, a home, away, alternate, and a second alternate which is mostly throwbacks but also can be a fauxback or a normal alternate. I will be going in alphabetical order of conference then team, lets get started! Starting off in Atlantic Hockey we have our first team. The American International College (AIC) Yellow Jackets CURRENT UNIFORMS: Home: Based off of their old alternate jersey, now with their classic Yellow Jacket logo on the chest. Away: A black version of their home. Alt: A yellow version. Alt 2: A fauxback with striped arms, AIC on chest diagonally, and no white on the uniform.
  14. Here's a design for the Caps if they ever want to have a new jersey instead of a direct throwback. The overall look is heavily inspired by the throwback jerseys but with some differences. The Weagle is front and centre as it should be, and the font is more modern. C&C Appreciated!
  15. So, with all of the hubbub around the NHL expansion to Seattle, Washington, I was inspired to whip up a set of concept logos for the new hockey club. Frankly, I'm in love with the Sockeyes as the name for the new team. It's fun, local, unique and lends itself to some great color schemes and imagery. Here are some of the images I took some inspiration from as I was designing my logos. I played around with a few color schemes, all of which focused on the distinctive red and green of the spawning Sockeye Salmon. I tried black, and dark green as the third color, but eventually settled on navy blue as the complimentary color to red and green because Seattle sports teams are kinda known for their use of navy blue and more importantly, I thought it looked the best. Color Scheme (with goofy marketing-speak color names): The primary logo I created features a swimming salmon, its powerful tail propelling it upstream, with its intimidating teeth on display: The alternate logo/shouder patch is the letter S dressed up as a sockeye salmon. I was inspired by Native American-style illustrations in the design of the alternate logo, albeit a heavily simplified and stylized version: That's it for now. Thanks for having a look and please feel free to offer C&C because this is far from a finished product. Thanks again.
  16. Over the past week, I have posted a few of these logos and they seemed to go over well, so I decided to run with the theme... each logo is inspired by an NHL team, but designed for a mini-mite-level kid's hockey team. Every logo is a work in progress, so feedback is appreciated! All designs from this set are available at: https://www.teepublic.com/user/csquared Up first is Pittsburgh:
  17. Hello! I’ve always been a huge fan of sports branding and history, but I’ve never actually taken to creating my own logos/jerseys until now. I figured this would be the best place to post my first attempts at creating teams because you all seem to give useful feedback, even if it isn’t always exactly what the artist want to hear. For this project I’ve created 8 team leagues for baseball, american football, basketball, and hockey, and I've decided to use my own templates. The templates are pretty basic but I’m proud of them. Any recommendations for upgrading the templates would be greatly appreciated as well. I should also mention that for the time being I am using a program called Vectr. First up will be the Stars and Stripes Baseball League. Each team will have a home, away, and alternate uniform. The 8 teams will be in these markets: New York Los Angeles Chicago Houston Phoenix Philadelphia San Antonio San Diego The first team posted is the New York Honeycrisps, which is based on the “Big Apple” nickname for New York. I know cliches aren’t always the best way to go, but I couldn’t keep myself from trying to create an apple holding a bat. Anyways, I’d really appreciate your feedback on what areas I could improve in. Thanks for reading!
  18. To match american College hockey, I've created the Swedish Univerisity Hockey League Starting of with Linköpings universitet. I wanted to create a modern design while still beeing classic. C&C Appreciated
  19. Hey Everyone! Third time's a charm!? The NPHL is a group of dedicated hockey fans that want to play in a league but there is just one problem...they can't skate! So we decided to play a form of "Dek Hockey" on outside basketball courts. 3 on 3, no goalies, street puck, and we use the small skill nets for a goal. The uniforms will consist of a T-shirt, basketball shorts and hockey gloves. (And obviously sticks!) The NPHL will premiere the Summer of 2019 and right now we are in the phase of coming up with the team names and logos. So with that being said I hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome! NPHL - Simple design. Letters stacked on top each other to form a strong crest. A star in the North East of the logo to represent the league itself. Colors are black and white.
  20. Back in 2016 I started a new hand drawn series that unfortunately stalled at 18 concepts. Dwindling inspiration, dissatisfaction with some the concepts and the decision to add helmet designs made me pull the plug and take a much needed break. Now I am back with a new series that I am truly proud of. I can say with complete confidence that I have given this new series every thing I have. I began working on new concepts at the start of 2017 and work has continued to this day. All 31 teams will be tackled and I plan on posting a new concept each day. Currently, 25 teams are completed so there will not a drop-off in material as there was on my last thread. I will kick things off with a team that just made its first Conference Final. Nashville Predators The Predators almost got things perfect with their 2011 redesign but a few bad decisions have them currently sitting in the middle of the pack. I removed the unnecessary piping and went with simple, traditional stripes. The Predators made gold more prominent on their road socks in 2013 so I decided to apply this change to the rest of the road uniform. It was tempting to go with a Navy alternate but I really wanted to make them the de-facto Gold team. The alternate adds silver to tip the hat to the pre 2011-look and the 3D logo has received a simplification in the same vein as the current primary. C & C welcome, thanks for looking .

Hey Guys! I have returned to the forums to announce the Northeastern Pennsylvania Hockey League. (And obviously sticks!) The NPHL will premiere the Summer of 2019 and right now we are in the phase of coming up with the team names. We have TWO teams as of right now and we would like to have about SIX. Hopefully as this thread goes on we will create a phenomenal looking league with the help of CCSLC! Alright! Up first is the League Logo. Its is the state of Pennsylvania with a hockey stick in negative space. The tip of the hockey blade is touching North East Pennsylvania. https://imgur.com/a/yt0Sz As Always, C&C is Welcome! Hope You Guys Like This One! Spoiler: The LAKE ARIEL STAGS are next!
  22. Felt like making some hockey jerseys, and have had this idea in my head for some time, so I present to you Provincial/Territorial Hockey Jerseys, where I will be giving each of Canada's provinces and territories.. you guessed it, hockey jerseys! British Columbia Alberta Saskatchewan Manitoba Northern Ontario Ontario Quebec New Brunswick Nova Scotia Prince Edward Island Newfoundland and Labrador Yukon Northwest Territories Nunavut St. Pierre and Miquelon Since I'm still not 100% confident in my logo-making abilities, The logo for each team is their respective shield. Like series before, I'm not doing these in any particular order, so if you want a certain one done, I'll do it. Let's get to it! First up we have Saskatchewan. Firstly, anything other than green for the home jersey would be blasphemous so I obviously went with that. The rest of the colours are from the provincial flag, mainly using yellow and having minimal red accents. The striping pattern features two traditional stripes, with cuffs on the arms. This pattern is also featured on the socks and hem. The away jersey features a yoke, and the star of the show is a sublimated wheat pattern on the chest, paying homage to the many farmers and wheat fields in the province. I used a classic block font, the same one used by the Roughriders, the pride of the province. Left Wings: Jaden Schwartz, Patrick Marleau (C), Chris Kunitz (A), Scott Hartnell (A) Centres: Ryan Getzlaf (A), Brayden Schenn, Tyler Bozak, Brooks Laich Right Wings: Jordan Eberle, Blake Comeau, Josh Archibald, Adam Cracknell Defensemen: Ryan Murray, Matt Dumba, Derrick Pouliot, Luke Schenn, Brayden McNabb, Erik Gryba Goalies: Devan Dubnyk, Braden Holtby C&C is appreciated, as well as requests!
  23. I did a few other sport mashup concepts before, but thought i would get into the MLB and do some hockey uniforms for those teams. I got a few done already, just wanted to see what you all thought. Hoping to slowly make my way through the whole MLB. I am hoping to do a home/away and possible alternate for each. I like doing the alternate where it is influenced by a throwback look. So far I have done the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers and 1 throwback idea for the Pittsburgh Pirates. For the Brewers I did 2 versions, one with the older Navy/Yellow look and one with their Navy/Metalllic gold look. Also, let me know if these images work. Had an issue last time i posted some stuff. Blue Jays Pittsburgh Pirates Milwaukee Brewers
  24. Winter break means... not a lot to do so I can try to jump back into some jersey and logo concepts! This is hopefully be a series that will cover every NHL team. Some of them will get brand new logos, not all of them. I'm gonna start off with two rebranded teams: the Blackhawks today and the Avs tomorrow. Often designs I used will be influenced by other designers, and I'll try my best to give each of them credit. 1/30: Chicago Blackhawks Without having a huge political argument over whether or not the Blackhawks logo is offensive, I've always liked the idea of using a literal hawk in the logo instead of the Chief. This is obviously influenced by Mike Ivall's original design, as well as Brandon Moore's recent crack at it as well. As aesthetically appealing as the old shoulder logo was, I think the tomahawk motif is a bit outdated so I went more straightforward. I chose a path closer to the 60s-90s logo, where in normal application the Hawk has no outline, but on the jersey it has a gold outline. The jerseys are consistent with the ones now, although I changed the numbers on the aways to better balance out the red and black compared to now. C&C is of course appreciated, and I'll have a new Avs logo and jersey tomorrow!
