  2. I'm starting a new series where I am going to redo the home & away sets for every single team. Starting from the top, here are the Ducks.
  3. Here's what I came up with for the upcoming Winter Classic.
  4. Welcome to the new World Synthetic Ice Hockey Association (WSIHA). I'm looking to get as many teams to join as possible. In this concept, there will be leagues all over the world. Africa, Asia, North and Central America and Caribbean, South America, Oceania and Europe. The top league (the World Synthetic Ice Hockey Association) and its affiliate leagues will be in North America. The game itself is very simple. The rink uses synthetic ice instead of ice to have cheaper cost for each franchise. The rink is 50ft by 94ft. The rules are mostly the same as the current NHL overtime rules. The main difference being that there is no off sides. Instead, there is illegal clearing which happens when a player passes the puck from behind their own blue line across the other blue line. periods are only 15 min. instead of 20. Teams play with 12 players and 2 goalies. The top league in North America and the world will be the World Synthetic Ice Hockey Association. This league will play 82 games. They will have best of 7 playoffs. The idea would be that it's the same level of hockey as the AHL. This league will close at 32 franchises. Franchises can not be in NHL cities. All franchises must be approved by me. All franchises must have an ISIHL affiliate. The WSIHA’s top affiliate is the International Synthetic Ice Hockey League (ISIHL). They will play 72 games. They will have best of 7 playoffs. ISIHL teams do not have to have an affiliate. The ISIHL will only accept affiliate teams after 32 teams. Agin same thing franchises can not be in NHL cities and must be approved by me. The WSIHA’s second affiliate and top affiliate of the ISIHL is the Major Synthetic Ice Hockey League (MSIHL). MSIHL teams do not have to have an affiliate. They will play 62 games. They will have best of 5 playoffs. They will only be playing in conference games. the MSIHL will close at 64 teams. Agin same thing franchises can not be in NHL cities and must be approved by me. The WSIHA will have a partnership with Adidas similar to the NHL. The ISIHL and MSIHL will both partner with CCM. All of the synthetic ice panels will be provided by Kwikrink. Other 3x3 leagues are coming and will be in other threads. My idea is that you would join in and create a franchise for at least one of the three leagues. Ounce all leagues have at least 32 teams I will release the schedule for the first season. please submit like this: (WSIHA) Location: Sacramento Team Name: Nor Cal Seals Colors: Kelly green, California gold, snow white Logo(s)/Uniforms: coming soon (ISIHL) Affiliate: Sacramento Location: Santa Cruze Team Name: Golden Seals Colors: Kelly green, California gold, snow white Logo(s)/Uniforms: coming soon (MSIHL/ISIHL) Affiliate: Sacramento/Santa Cruze Location: Long Beach Ca Team Name: Mariners Colors: Kelly green, California gold, snow white Logo(s)/Uniforms: coming soon Here are the league logos:
  5. I haven't made a concept in a while. Kinda odd. Anyways, here's a combination of two of my favorite things, the Grateful Dead and hockey. Not a whole lot to explain here. Symbolism is pretty clear, and the entire thing was just done for fun. What do you think?
  6. Here's a project I've been working pretty hard on for the last little while. I've put what little skill I have in creating logos into this, and think it's come out pretty well. So here it is, the National Floor Hockey League! This takes place in an alternate-history-ish situation. In the early 1900's, indoor floor hockey became the summertime companion to the NHL and other ice hockey leagues, with local organizations and leagues sprouting up in established hockey markets, such as in Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, California, the Chicago-area, and the Northeast. Canada was not as interested in the sport, but had a couple teams in southern Ontario playing in the Midwest League. There were five large leagues, and tons of smaller, more local "minor" leagues. The biggest leagues were the... Rocky Mountain Floor Hockey League (Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming) California Floor Hockey League (California, Arizona, and Nevada) Pacific Floor Hockey League (British Colombia, Oregon, and Washington) Midwest Floor Hockey League (Ontario, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Indiana) Northeast Floor Hockey League (New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, etc.) Where the sport existed, it was big, growing nearly right alongside the NHL in revenue and fanbase-size. Eventually, in an attempt to reach a wider audience and produce a more nationwide audience, the five major leagues merged in 2007. The individual teams merged in 2007, putting the best of the best in the biggest markets, to create larger fanbases. The new league was named the National Floor Hockey League. After the plan successfully worked, and the league grew in both revenue and fans, the league expanded in 2017, into non-traditional hockey markets, such as Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. The league also expanded into Minnesota, planning to maintain it as a permanent franchise. This series is the league in 2018, a year after expansion. The franchises' names and jerseys will be released as the teams themselves are, but the logos are on the map below, along with some league logos and other information. League Logo: It's pretty simple, using the red, white, and blue colors most major sports leagues do. It takes the shape of a hockey puck, as used in the floor hockey game. It's a distinctive enough shape to stand out from a regular circle, but is similar enough to a simple shape as to stay relatively simple. Conference Logos: These are really just simplified league logos, customized for the East and West conferences. Not a whole lot to say here. League Uniform: Floor hockey uniforms have been, for the most part, hockey-ish designs on soccer-ish uniforms. The NFHL has used a Puma template since its inception, and is again seen here. The league logo sits in the bottom right corner, while the DT Concepts logo mirrors it. Puma gets its logo on the pants and top right corner, as well as subtly put on the sublimated pattern on the arms. And yes, despite the fact that you all will dislike it, the league will have every team wear a sponsor patch on their left chest. Court Specifics The NFHL courts are the same size as NBA courts, with the layout of an NHL rink. The league logo is placed inside the offside-lines on each side of the rink. The arena and sponsor logos are placed to face the television cameras, along with the team logo at center. Teams are able to use custom designs on their courts, in a lighter color, as long as it doesn't appear as extra lines on the court. Team Map Here are all the logos and locations of teams in the NFHL. Team names and uniforms will be released at a later date, however. There's all that! Here are a list of team locations. I will update them with names and links to the posts with their uniforms and whatnot as necessary. 2018 NFHL All-Star Game - Toronto, ON Colorado Bucks Empire State HC Los Angeles Gold Miami Vipers Minnesota Saints New Orleans San Antonio Seattle Totems St. Louis Pioneers Toronto Nationals
  7. Pretty simple, straight forward fix for the Predators. Their Adidas unis are a bit bland, and my goal here was to bring a little more life to them. C&C appreciated!
  8. Binghamton Devils unveiled their new look the morning ....
  9. In large part because of the HJC Open, I have a few extra concepts lying around on my hard drives, so I'd might as well post them here, too. The first one is a Minnesota Wild "redesign", which is more or less just an "ideal look" or a "fix" to their uniforms. Nothing special here if I'm being honest. Next up, a Colorado Avalanche concept, where my idea was to take the full length shoulder yoke they already use, but put a mountain design cutting into it about halfway down the sleeves. If that doesn't make sense, just look below. I also replaced the black with navy blue, though outside of the pants and gloves it only appears in the logo. The next one is a New York Islanders set where I tried to bring back teal. On the home and road sets I only used it as an accent color, and in large part kept the striping faithful to their current look. The logos are a bit of a departure, though. For the alt, I went all-out teal and even used a wave pattern on the hem. Next is a very slightly revised Penguins' concept that I actually posted as an alternate in another thread of mine a few months ago, but here it is again on a different template and with slight revisions. I think my design decisions should be spelled out on the image for the most part. Last, and possibly my favorite of the bunch, is a Blue Jackets concept. After seeing another Jackets concept, I thought that the Jackets may be one of the few teams that vintage white would fit well with, so I went with it. The striping is inspired by the Ohio flag, which isn't the most innovative for the Jackets, but I really like the way this turned out, and I'm surprised it didn't look any more basic than this. The typeface was also custom formed by myself based on the one inside of their alternate roundel, since their new Adidas typeface hasn't really been seen in enough detail to trace or re-create yet. That's all I have for now, but I should be posting a Sherbrooke Phoenix concept pretty soon once I finish it. C&C appreciated!
  10. I haven't posted on this site in over 8 years... but I came across this video on youtube: It's put out by these guys: https://sportstemplates.net/ I can't find out a thing about them, no critiques, articles, evaluations, nothing! Can anybody post experience with this template? How flexible? How customizable is it? I've never worked on photoshop, but I'm so impressed by what I see so far I'm actually considering taking the plunge and joining the photoshop cult. Any feedback or advice would be most appreciative.
  11. I've prepared some NHL concepts where I try and refresh team branding and uniforms. I'm trying to make the rest of the league fall more in line with what I've come to expect from Adidas. All teams get *some* sort of change from their current (Reebok) uniforms, although a few don't see much change at all (ie. Flyers, Leafs). I will accept C&C but I don't plan on making revisions to the uniforms unless I really feel compelled. I will be adding "Marquee Matchups" where teams use special uniforms. This is where C&C would be most useful, in suggesting matchups, uniforms, revisions, etc. I will use this first post as a HUB for the concepts: Metropolitan Battle of New York (NYI v NYR) Keystone Classic (PHI @ PIT) Stevens' Cup (WAS + MIN @ NJD) Ohio Classic (PIT @ CBJ) Atlantic Tribute (NJD v PHI) All-American Clash (STL v NYR) Atlantic Battle of Ontario (TOR v OTT) Governor's Cup (FLA v TBL) All-American Clash (WAS v DET) International Classic (BOS @ MTL) Norris Cup (CHI v DET) Hartford Classic (CAR v BUF) Central All-American Clash (NSH v COL) International Classic (VAN @ CHI) All-American Clash (MIN v STL) Battle of Wisconsin (MIN v CHI) All-Canadian Clash (TOR v WPG) Star Series (MIN v DAL) Pacific California Series (ANA + SJS @ LAK) Battle of Alberta (CGY v EDM) Battle of the Desert (ARI v VGK) Marquee of '93 (FLA v ANA) All-American Clash (VGK v LAK) Pacific Territories (SJS v VAN)
  12. Most AHL teams have adopted their parent clubs' identities and many are pretty close to it. I wanted to try and embrace that by creating the "NHL Night" promotion for AHL teams, where they look back into their parent clubs' uniform histories and make a past look their own. When creating this, I figured this promotion could be like a Sunday promotion, or since division teams play each other 8-11 times, they could use one of those matchups as an "NHL Night." Some AHL teams get crazy with alternates, so what's one more to the mix? Starting with the Atlantic Division, here are the Bridgeport Sound Tigers modeled after the 1978-1995 New York Islanders. We all know how much they like reminding us about the four cups they won in the 80s, so why not make their AHL club wear the unis they did it in. *Logos from sportslogos.net, template from the concept resources on the boards, and nhluniforms.com for jersey references.
  13. Because there won't be alternate jerseys next year, I was thinking of ideas for alternate ideas for jerseys, and this popped into my head. This Red Wings concept takes their sash from their stadium series jersey, and adds a stripe below, like their winter classic jerseys. The striping pattern also throws back to when the Red Wings were the Cougars. the sleeve numbers are placed in the stripes to make the jersey unique. C&C is appreciated!
  14. The Western Collegiate Ball Hockey Association (W.C.B.H.A.) is a fictional college ball hockey league located in the western United States. Teams compete using most of the same rules as the N.C.A.A. However one major rule change would be the floating blue line. The first season consist of 11 teams in the Pacific and Sierra conference. Teams play in 3 men’s divisions and 2 women’s divisions. Teams in the men’s and women’s division 1 play 34 games. Teams in the men’s and women’s division 2 play 24 games. Fallowing the regular season there is a single game elimination tournament with 8 teams. Teams in the men’s division 3 play 14 games. The regular season starts the first weekend in October and ends the last week of March. The tournament starts the first week of April. The men’s and women’s division 1 tournament will be held in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. The men’s and women’s division 2 tournament will take place in Reno at the Reno Events Center. The men’s and women’s division 3 tournament will take place in San Jose at the Sharks Ice at San Jose. 15. As much as I love the new Bolts logo and uniforms, when they're placed next to the Maple Leafs it REALLY drives home how similar the two are. While some clamored for the old set I honestly didn't like the striping and I prefer Tampa Bay as a blue base team as opposed to a black base. Nevertheless, black and silver need to comeback to distinguish the Bolts from the Leafs and so here we are One of my biggest pain points with the old set is that too much black weighed down the uniform. This is alleviated by keeping the black to a minimum secondary and brightening the blue. (It's for this reason there are sleeves on the road whites but not on the home blues. The primary logo stays almost the exact same as far as proportion but you can see the how the brighter blue pops allowing the use of black without added weight. The existing wordmarks would carry over just with the new blue used. So Tampa Bay...ready to stop looking like you're in Ontario?
  16. So a few years ago when the Sharks were hosting a Stadium Series game against the Kings, I came up with a concept of what they might wear. Many people said it should be used as the full-time set. However, others said that the colors meshed too much and it bogged down the design. So, with Adidas set to unveil the uniforms tomorrow, I thought I'd throw my design in what I would hope the Sharks would do. Granted, I'm not expecting much. I'd be pleasantly surprised if there was something even close to this. Shoulder patches were left blank as I didn't know which one they were going to go with. I just saw that reveal in the teaser trailer this afternoon. So the orange could be removed, but I might actually be getting used to the orange...oh my, what is happening!
  17. After a few teasers and a look at Vegas' draft hat, I've decided to put together a last minute prediction for the Golden Knight's jerseys. C&C is welcome.
  18. ...now, here's a new logo that isn't complete naff.
  19. Trying to play with something I always thought would work for the Bolts. I like the secondary they have now, but I just thought this could be a tertiary, or if they ever make the secondary the primary. I tried to do my own bevel...but I kinda got stuck. So I'm providing two examples, one with the unfinished bevel and one without. Its still a work in progress. Let me know what you think, any advice, changes that need to be made. Thanks.
  20. Hello all, This is my first concept on the boards. I made this one quite a while ago, but have not decided to post it until now. I'm not very tech savvy and so just used Google Drawings to make this and so it doesn't all line up quite the way I'd like. As the name 'Nordiques' means 'northerners', I decided to play off that and make it the shape of a compass. The fleur-de-lis represents the province of Quebec and also helps form the tip of the compass. The red border of the compass forms the shape of the letter 'Q' for Quebec. The 'N' and the 'Q' in the logo are quite helpful for making a wordmark, especially since in french the team is 'Les Nordiques de Québec' (the 'N' before the 'Q')
  21. Mr. Foley, (the billionaire that's picking up most of the tab for the Las Vegas NHL project), has repeatedly stated that he prefers the name "Black Knights" for the Vegas hockey team. He's the man, so I've attempted a concept using Mr.Foley's choice of name and colours.
  22. Haven't had too much time to work on much of anything recently, but with HJC's latest competition starting up, I figured it would be a good time to get back in the design game. The rules for this competition allow for you to submit 3 concepts for teams at the '17 IIHF World Championship (USA, Canada, and your choice). If I can, I'd love to turn this into a series, but for now I am just going to post my work for those first three teams. I'll start off by posting Team USA...C&C appreciated!
  23. Hello, Sportslogos.net! I decided to make a Stadium Series template, obviously for hockey, due to the fact that I wanted the one that nhluniforms.com uses, but the internet didn't have it. Therefore, I made it on my own, and that made me want to make more. (Some templates are just re-made for Paint.net) Here they are: Stadium Series (Now with tweaked shoulders!): https://41.media.tumblr.com/723f0c91312b7170e04f10a41346ef48/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio8_1280.png Archetype Blank: https://40.media.tumblr.com/918dd4f6a682dccf15edab260c46a1bf/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio9_1280.png Archetype Ultra-Modern: https://36.media.tumblr.com/e7be2592799c0c559357445f21a8a4e6/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio3_1280.png Archetype Classic: https://41.media.tumblr.com/efb9a60315f39635c89f8eb72e3b2b8d/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio1_1280.png Archetype Modern: https://41.media.tumblr.com/a53d23b1df62ac7fe4d44aa10d78d75d/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio5_1280.png Archetype Modern Hem Stripes: https://40.media.tumblr.com/d26c29fc5082d4a650985efa7eed49f6/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio2_1280.png Archetype Stadium Series: https://40.media.tumblr.com/845d1f763054b0041dd63d4460e9d5f5/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio6_1280.png Nike Custom: https://40.media.tumblr.com/d83a87bdcea776fff80b32eb9409ed7f/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio10_1280.png RBK Edge Ultra-Modern: https://40.media.tumblr.com/292da85867aa1e42dc299bb91d4e4900/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio7_1280.png RBK Edge Ultra-Modern 2: https://36.media.tumblr.com/4313481fb8121170b3a95602eb7e4f68/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio4_1280.png RBK Edge Ultra-Modern 3: https://41.media.tumblr.com/5d2046eab78bd41dc885b752579e02e2/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio1_1280.png RBK Edge Modern 1: https://41.media.tumblr.com/ca0cf39daa4839e212b333175c4f92df/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio2_1280.png RBK Edge Modern 1 Arm Stripes: https://40.media.tumblr.com/524f35681a5d13770717e6aa6331c982/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio4_1280.png RBK Edge Modern 2: https://41.media.tumblr.com/2e177c2df286679bcb3dec39e6a5534b/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio3_1280.png RBK Edge Modern 2 Hem Stripes: https://40.media.tumblr.com/7f8754c3b57864e346bcc6d24bf6bc98/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio5_1280.png RBK Edge Classic: https://40.media.tumblr.com/2df2c7377277d8db5306788a647e7eb1/tumblr_nv284wmMeY1ue9cjio6_1280.png Old CCM: https://36.media.tumblr.com/f9f3bd58fb1692eb7c68fe31754632ba/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio7_1280.png Sweater: https://41.media.tumblr.com/ffbcbec48e128924979ea64bcafcaf1c/tumblr_nv283xx48s1ue9cjio8_1280.png More coming soon. 24. I came across an idea for a secondary logo for the Stars, and decided to run with it. The presentation is below. I've got a version made up for the HJC Random Competition. The challenge was to create the Stars in red and blue, and you can find a link to that HERE.
  25. This is my concept of a Vegas Golden Knights farm team in Reno, Nevada. View the full project here
