  1. Me & my gf are joining a hockey league and I want to make her a custom pink jersey for Xmas with out cat (Catface) as the logo... still needs to be rendered/vectored, but figured I would look for feedback first! And if anyone has any embroidery/jersey hookups, I would appreciate some guidance!
  2. Hey guys, so this is officially my first thread on this website (so don't mine the errors)! For my first thread I decided to start a topic about football helmets. I believe there was a thread about this a while back aswell. I know it sounds kinda lame, but i've always been intrigued by the football players helmet and/or face masks. So i guess ill start off. I've always been a fan of Dennis Dixon's Helmet and Facemask when he played for the Ducks. Mike Vicks helmet as a rookie on the Falcons was also pretty amazing. And lastly, DJ Shockley's helmet as a Dawg. Hope to see some replies and to keep this thread going!

  4. I've been hearing a lot of rumors about the Ottawa Senators holding an outdoor game to commemorate their 25th anniversary as well as Canada's 150th anniversary. I decided to make a concept logo that resembled the Winter and Heritage Classic logos. Hope you enjoy, C&C appreciated
  5. Hey everyone, I worked on fixing up the Canes into something they I wish they would wear. The design incorporates elements from their new and old jerseys... I also attempted to make a new wordmark for the team but I'm not sure if I like the way it came out. I'm relatively new to designing concepts and using illustrator so C&C is welcomed! 6. Quick story, I went to college in a small town in Texas called Nacogdoches and their high school team is the Dragons and I didn't care for their logo. They used the Mortal Combat dragon in the state of Texas. So I did a little tweaking to catch it up to the times and to not poach another logo. Let me know what y'all think. Old Logo My Concept
  7. Hey guys, I'm new to this site and would like to give a formal greeting to you all! I would also like to see if I could get some ideas/ creative criticism for this logo I designed just as a side project for Salisbury University. I recently graduated and was never really happy with the original logo (Which you can find online; it's like 50 years old hahaha) . I wanted something that kept with our original seagull but was strong and iconic for our university. Let me know what you think!
  8. My design goal was to create a simplistic style for each team. Of all of the redesigns I have seen, They don't differ enough from the originals. I like a simple style but I also appreciate the current designs. Take the new rockets logo, it is a simpler version from before. I plan on redesigning all of the current and some past teams
  9. Updating my logo! I retired from fantasy football in 2012 after a successful 25 year run, but an unexpected opening in the league I founded in 1988 (I've been out of that league since 1994) has lured me out of retirement. So that means the Dark Piranhas are back, and I need to get some merch made before the season starts! And more specifically, that means it's time to update my logo. I've had the current one since 2006 and it's time for a tweak. Here's a pictorial history of my logo from its inception in 1988. While I cringe a little at some of the earlier elements, they are now part of the Dark Piranhas legacy, and while a complete overhaul was an option, tradition wins out, so the new version must pay homage to the history and heritage, no matter how unfortunate some of those earlier choices might have been. A little history to keep in mind before diving too deeply into C&C: Over time, the Dark Piranhas came to represent me in any sports-related endeavor, either fantasy, or coaching little league or playing intramural. While the color scheme has been predominantly silver and black, starting in 2006 blood red was added in various capacities (sometimes a dominant color like in the sample helmet, sometimes only as an accent). The logo itself has evolved from a crude fish-head in 1988, to adding some head spikes and putting it in a roundel in 1990, to a full-body fish with over-exaggerated teeth in 1994, to the sharp, angular style it acquired in 2006. The one consistent element in all iterations has been the pair of gills. The eyes started off a more realistic round before becoming more sharp and angular and basically, the shape of a V, which is what my first name starts with (Victor). In fact, the 2006 version of the logo was reverse-engineered starting with the eye, which was the one element I definitely wanted to keep. I liked the overall look of the 2006 logo, but one consistent problem was my early decision to make the fins and teeth separate elements from the body, almost like paper cutouts. Looks okay in usage or over any color except black or white, which required me to put a stroke on it,but the black stroke didn't work on the body, and a white stroke didn't work on the teetch. Plus those cutout shapes made any stroke look really wonky. It was a mess! The bottom image of the history graphic shows my Oregon-inspired set of helmets and uniforms for 2012 (my retirement season). So here's my first version of the 2016 update: With my latest iteration, I've kept the basic look, but streamlined it and simplified it. First, I reconnected all the fins and added a couple of head spikes back in honor of the 1990 version of the logo. The biggest change I made was making the teeth black. I thought that it would really bug me, but I quickly grew to like it. I also elongated the body a bit and skewed its angle a bit to give it a more aggressive feeling. The three versions above differ only in how the teeth are presented. (A) has them separated as in my 2006 logo. It still allows for a legible stroke. This also allows me to color them white in some usages of the logo, such as over a solid color. (B) has the teeth connected to the 'lips' allowing the entire logo to be self-contained. (C) moves the 'lips' back to where they are more of a suggestion, making the teeth and jaw a more singular silhouette. The bottom graphic just shows how the whole thing looks stroked. I'm more or less happy with it, but I'd very much like to hear any feedback. Of the three versions above, I have a personal preference, but I'll let you guys weigh in. Thanks in advance!

    3D Helmet

Hey guys, I've been looking at the stuff on these forums but rarely post. I'm in a fantasy league (on steroids) where we use helmets to brand our team. I discovered the 3D Helmet tutorial Davidson posted in the forums a few months ago so I tried it myself. After weeks of trial and error I figured out if your brand new to photoshop it's not that simple to use. I am wondering if anyone who loves doing this stuff and is good with photoshop would make me one. I am naming my team the Parlor City Phantoms. Probably a red/black/white color scheme but am open to ideas. You guys are the artists not me, lol. I have a few logos I found that are nice but can't figure out the helmet tutorial. If you are interested please let me know. It'd be really appreciated. Marc - windsorpg@yahoo.com
  11. I decided to try and redesign a logo by hand for the first time. Printed out a sheet full of the logo I wanted to trace and redesign, pulled out some parchment paper and started tracing the parts I wanted and modifying by hand the parts I did not want. I then took a picture and traced it all over again in Illustrator and made more changes there. All in all, I actually dig how it turned out. If Let me know what you think! Looking at it now, a change I might make is to make the circles of the crown white and maybe make the beard look less like an "M" although I had the idea of maybe just making this a Manchester Monarchs redesign (Kings ECHL affiliate). Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
  12. Hello! This is a concept for a football team in Saint Louis, Missouri. I'll be working on it some more in the future til then, feel free to critique. 14. Hey Guys! Today I have a concept for the Pittsburgh Condors basketball team. I'm a big fan of Pittsburgh sport teams and think they can expand to other sports, like the NBA. I wanted to pick a team name that had some history in the city. I chose the ABA's 1970-72 Pittsburgh Condors. Previously known as the Pipers. The logos I've designed mirrors the city of champions with the good old Black and Gold. I went with Wing-Theme to be slightly different from the Hawks and Pelicans. With the basketball logo, I had to give a nod to the ABA Condors so they are not completely forgotten. ( Although their logo should ) Hope you like this one! 16. Hey Guys! Since we know the Las Vegas NHL expansion team will have something to do with Knights and Sand, I've decided to make a logo/team that already exists in the league. I don't know how they would get rid of Florida in the real world, but they did in my head. SO Las Vegas took over the Florida Panthers franchise and this is what I came up with. This makes sense, trust me. Since Pittsburgh abandoned Vegas Gold, I thought that would be perfect for Vegas. Basically the Pitt color scheme from a year ago. So! I hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  17. Hello! I've been off these forums for a while, but now that I'm back I might as well contribute! You guys might have seen my old Wisconsin concept, if you have cool, if you haven't don't try to find it, it's awful and needs to be burned. Anyways Wisconsin just recently switched to Under Armour, and as a Badger fan I was really excited for that because Adidas sucked. So I was pumped for the uniform unveilings (football and basketball in particular) and was really impressed with what UA did with everything. Except for the football uniforms! They hardly changed anything, and my biggest pet peeve is that the "wave/motion W" just seems totally out of place. I also really like it as a logo, but it just doesn't fit with Wisconsin's "brand". So, I took it upon myself to create new, more outside of the box logo and uniforms, that could still fit into Wisconsin's brand. First I designed a very simple logo, I just took the W in Wisconsin's font and just added some serifs to both sides to give them the appearance of f's. I did this because it would work with their new "Forever Forward" mantra. (I know it also kind of looks like the Wonder Woman logo but I don't care.) Then I started on the actual uniforms, and that's when it got interesting, because I wanted something totally new for Wisconsin. In these I really took the new W and the Forever Forward slogan to heart. And there you have it! Really weird, almost throwback "new" UA uniforms done on a Nike template! If you read all my rambling thanks, and if you didn't cool. C&C is greatly appreciated!
  18. Messin' around with some secondary logo concepts for Newcastle United. FYI, the blue color variations translated a little weird for the preview image. The full-sized image is more accurate to the concept vision.
  19. Hey Guys! I know there is a New Jersey Outlaws, but I'm not sure if this logo works for them. I just wanted to see how it looks. I wanted to have the outlaw feel, but include all the letters of New Jersey and Outlaw. Short and simple. I hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome!
  20. Hey there, the Serie A, Italian major soccer league, started again last weekend and while watching some of the games I couldn't avoid to notice how AC Milan crest look outdated compared to some others (e.g. Juventus or Inter Milan) which have been updated in the recent past. It just feel a bit too corporate (in a bad way) and blocky (probably the last time it's been updated was during the '80s). I've decided to give it a try and put together a quick presentation, also highlighting some of the issues I tried to fix. As usual, feedbacks are really welcome. Cheers
  21. I would like to stress that this is my first mascot logo I've ever made, so please go easy on me. I made it with a cougar/mountain lion in mind. I thought it would be a good logo for a minor hockey team. However I couldn't decide on the colours. I am going for something unique so these colour schemes aren't very traditional. Feel free to suggest your own colour schemes though.
  22. Hey everybody! Please check out my logo concept for D'Angelo Russell and let me know what you think, all CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is more than welcome as I see it as a way to improve my process. This is a portfolio piece for my Senior year at the Savannah College of Art & Design and no affiliation with the athlete or Nike. Thank you! https://www.behance.net/gallery/41163175/DAngelo-Russell-Identity-Concept
  23. Hey Guys! If you remember, I already made a Revolution Logo concept, I just had an idea and wanted to run with it! This logo is a simple crest with 13 stripes for the US flag. Also, I have "N" and "E" for New England that fills in for the stars. 1776 for the year of United States Independence. And there you have it, another Revolution Logo Concept. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  24. Hey! I did this Minnesota Wild logo after dicking around while thinking of ideas for the Minnesota Timberwolves. I haven't redone it in a proper program to get clean lines+resolution+ratios, so forgive me. Its by no means a final product. The left is the logo, the right is a Legacy logo of sorts, Sunday home game kind of things. Its sorta different than most NHL logos, and I personally think it boarders a bit too much on the graphic design side, but alas! I want to know what you think. Those keen on NHL logo history will obvs know what i'm going for here. I will be posting uniforms and alt logos when I finish them!
  25. I was disappointed when the Toronto Raptors took out any reference to dinosaurs in their logo package and replaced them with that weird ripped ball. I wanted to bring the velociraptor back into prominence, but not as a cartoon. Not sure if the logo needs the highlights. I am especially torn about the highlight on the neck, or the ball "O". What do you think?
