Hey Guys! I have returned to the forums to announce the Northeastern Pennsylvania Hockey League. The NPHL is a group of dedicated hockey fans that want to play in a league but there is just one problem...they can't skate! So we decided to play a form of "Dek Hockey" on outside basketball courts. 3 on 3, no goalies, street puck, and we use the small skill nets for a goal. The uniforms will consist of a T-shirt, basketball shorts and hockey gloves. (And obviously sticks!) The NPHL will premiere the Summer of 2019 and right now we are in the phase of coming up with the team names. We have TWO teams as of right now and we would like to have about SIX. Hopefully as this thread goes on we will create a phenomenal looking league with the help of CCSLC! Alright! Up first is the League Logo. Its is the state of Pennsylvania with a hockey stick in negative space. The tip of the hockey blade is touching North East Pennsylvania. https://imgur.com/a/yt0Sz As Always, C&C is Welcome! Hope You Guys Like This One! Spoiler: The LAKE ARIEL STAGS are next!
  2. A while ago I saw a project on Behance that really inspired me to maybe start a similar project. This is the link of the one I saw: https://www.behance.net/gallery/35060175/Reform-Redesigned-Logos Muskat is a wonderfully creative team of two designers from Germany and lets say I started following them ever since I first glanced at their projects. They focused on German brands and stores, making them look better, I on the other hand, will focus on the stores I see in my town of Zagreb, no matter what country a brand comes from. I just might put in a Croatian one, maybe... Sooooo, long story short, I started with Müller, a German trade company that basically sells everything from perfumes to cosmetics, from notebooks and pens to toys (lots and lots of toys). Lets say they are part one of my project. https://dribbble.com/shots/2857281-M-ller <--------dribbble link I hope you leave a like and a comment. Thank you! EDIT: The image is a GIF, so if you click it you'll see the logo on different color backgrounds.
  3. Hello! My first post here and of course would love to hear your thoughts. I'm slowly becoming a niners fan?? but their current logo just doesn't do it for me so I had to do something. It's just looks very dated to me. Anyways, I also played around with some wordmarks to go with it, but figured I'd get the general idea out there first to see if there was any interest. Check it out and, please, let me know what you think! Thanks!
  4. Which logo do you prefer? The classic 1976 logo or the more modern and updated logo from the 2000s-present?
  5. Below is the outline of a concept I've been working on for an alternate timeline story I've been writing. The timeline mostly deals with an expanded exploration program for NASA in the last half of the 20th century. One of the things that I've been using to color the timeline is alternative team names and locations within American sports. On this front, instead of the failed XFL franchise, in my timeline, the XFL instead rides a wave of post-9/11 patriotism to create a football league with a military theme. Called Warball, the sport openly embraces the quasi-military themes of football (see George Carlin for further insights) and seeks to appeal to a hyper-masculine fanbase. Initially the league forms with 8 teams in 2 conferences Freedom Division Patriot Division Capital Warriors Seattle Stealth New York Heroes Alcatraz Guards Texas Assault Coronado Destroyers Chicago Shield Arizona Generals Teams are composed of 7 players on the field at any time. The field is 60 yards endzone-to-endzone. Endzones are 7.5 yards deep with curved corners. Field is bounded by 20 degree inclines 5 yards wide which are inbounds. Beyond the inclines are hockey rink walls. A ballcarrier cannot run out of bounds and must be tackled or score for the play to end. Any player on the field is considered an eligible receiver. Kicking of any kind has been eliminated. Teams have 6 downs to advance from their own 10 yard line to the opposing endzone. Touchdowns are worth 5 points. After a touchdown, a team is allowed to try a conversion play from the 3-yard line. A conversion by pass is worth 2 points. A conversion by run is worth 1 point. Two 20 minute halves are separated by a 10-minute halftime. Teams have 20 seconds to begin the next play. The clock does not run unless the ball is in play. Teams are required to have at least one starting player who is a current or former member of the United States military, and/or a civilian police, fire or paramedic service. Questions, comments, suggestions? I invite all of the above. This is my first league concepts, so, please, rip me apart here. I'll learn from everything that is said.
  6. Personally I think the Rams are sporting their best logo that they've ever had, (compared to their generic helmet logos and that weirdly-detailed 50-60s Ram head) although some fans dislike it due to its association with St. Louis. Their current logo still managed to look timeless and modern after 18 years...
  7. I thought the Bullets old jerseys were a bit too messy. and that their 90's jerseys were too red and unpleasant for the eyes. so I tried to do something in between. Their court I thought had far too much empty space and too small logos. so I pulled them up a bit. and I fixed some angels on the primary logo.
  8. My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407
  9. I Want some sonic boom back! Here's an Seattle Supersonics concept I made
  10. This is the first design of mine that I am uploading to this site. Pretty much all of the logos are a mashup of different logos I found. The name Lucky Buckets is from the famous Lucky Bucket Brewing Company originating from Nebraska. I thought it would be interesting to design a concept based on the brand. Let me know what you think and respectful criticism is more than welcome. BTW, I've used the program GIMP to do my designs, so I apologize that these aren't "professionally" done. Main Logo: Alternate Logo: Home Jersey Text Away Jersey Text Bottle-cap Logo NBA 2K Design
  11. here is a logo concept and uptate I did of 1990/91 - 1996/97 New Jersey Nets logo. logo. I´ve always thought it was an excellent logo. But the colors and finish were awful.
  12. An redesign concept I did on Golden State Warriors old logo. I used the yellow and blue color they have on their current logo. and fixed to the ball. I've always been disturbed by the lines that the ball has
  13. I made a concept of Los Angeles Clippers old logo. I wish they would bring it back. But have some cleaner jerseys. and another tone of the colors. I wanted the colors to remind more of sailers ship crew and the ocean.
  14. I am a huge fan of how recognizable and unique the current Minnesota Vikings logo is but after studying design for a few semesters, I've come across some fundamental composition flaws in the viking head. 1. Since this a profile view of the viking, the back horn should not be visible to us. It should be obstructed by the horn closest to us. 2. The shape of the emblem as a whole fights for your attention because it has multiple points pulling you in different directions. This isn't a problem if the directions are equidistant (like a star) or pulling you in a general direction but the helmet, horns, hair, braid, and mustache all bring you somewhere else (as pictured in the diagram below). Now these things seem minor, but they leave the viking head looking very static in space. 3. The mustache looks fine. This is just personal opinion but I think beards look meaner. My goal for this redesign was to create a streamlined, visually appealing, and tougher version of the classic logo that feels like a natural progression into the future. My solution to my issues with the existing logo was to remove the back horn, recompose the curves to all point behind the viking head, and add a beard for a tougher and more modern look. I'm still in the process of refining the logo but I wanted to post it on here to get some feedback before I dive in too far. The beard feels sort of empty compared to the interior of the hair but I'm not sure how to incorporate the same line quality without making it feel too busy.
  15. The Tennessee Titans' logo and uniforms and I have had a bit of an on-again-off-again relationship over the years. When I first remember seeing them in the Super Bowl against the Rams in 2000, I was in love with the logo, cuz, you know, FLAMES!!!!!!!! I was five then. As I got older, I soured on the logo, thinking the flames were over the top and the Titans would be better off using the sword alternate logo or the thumbtack roundel. The Titans' refusal to wear reasonable uniforms combos also drives me nuts. The helmet striping doesn't really go with anything and the brashier stripes on the pants don't feel right with the yoke, which has gotten too small over the years. The Uniforms have some good ideas, but I'm not crazy about the execution. Lately, the uniforms are still a mess, but I have come around on the idea of flames for the Titans. I think that is something they can own and it really just works. I do not care for the T logo. Besides the comparison to a thumbtack as far as it's shape goes, it feels small contained within the shield or roundel or whatever the circle is. The Titans logo should be big, "titanic" and the T should be the focal point, IMO. I threw out the bathwater, but kept the baby. The colors remain the same, but the Flaming T is bigger and bolder. I don't think this is a finished product but I'm also not entirely sure what parts of the logo needs more work so, please feel free to offer and C&C. I would really appreciate it. Once the logo gets to a good place, I'll work on some new uniforms to go with the updated logo. Thanks for having a look.
  16. Hey Guys! It's been awhile but I'm back with an inline hockey logo! I took the Hershey Bears logo as inspiration mainly because of how mean and intimidating the logo looked. I chose a "Deer" because where the team is located in Northeast Pennsylvania, there is an abundance of white-tailed deer. Of course, I had to use black and gold because...well, i just really like those colors for a hockey team! (Go Pens!) Hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome!
  17. I want to start this off by saying that IMO much of the Timberwolves current set looks good (but I am a fan of the team). I am of the group of people that thinks they should reach back and use a blue/green/silver color scheme. I also think that the current "angry wolf head" looks like a strange wolf/coyote/saluki mix. All of these thoughts will show through in my concept. There are things about this concept that may have been tried, in another way, before; but it seems like this is the first time they're all put together into one concept. So I give you the Power of the Pack:
  18. Recently, I participated in the Fuse Sessions Sport Branding Workshop with Joe Bosack. During the workshop Joe guided us through a quick history of sport branding, his professional experience and gave us some great information on how to concept and design sport identities. For the workshop, I chose to create a new an identity for a new MLS Expansion team in Nashville. The final mark was inspired by Nashville's music scene, printing/letterpress studios and the Gateway bridge. The color scheme was pulled from the neon signs that line Broadway.
  19. A series of female-themed designs inspired by NFL team logos - apparel coming soon! NEWEST LOGO: New Orleans Saints AFC EAST Buffalo Bills New England Patriots Miami Dolphins New York Jets AFC NORTH Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns Baltimore Ravens Pittsburgh Steelers AFC SOUTH Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Indianapolis Colts Tennessee Titans AFC WEST Las Vegas Raiders Kansas City Chiefs Los Angeles Chargers NFC EAST Dallas Cowboys (Ver. 1 l Ver. 2) New York Giants New York Jets NFC NORTH Chicago Bears Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings NFC SOUTH Tampa Bay Buccaneers Atlanta Falcons New Orleans Saints NFC WEST Arizona Cardinals San Francisco 49ers Seattle Seahawks
  20. As many (most?) of you know, the (vast) majority of people think the new/current Los Angeles Clippers logo sucks... and for good reason. But spontaneously - out of absolutely nowhere - I came up with a brilliant concept. If nobody has thought of this before, I might actually be surprised. (Maybe a little?) Well, check this one out! It's a prototype that exemplifies the best of minimalist design (which is the trend du jour), while incorporating elements that make way too much sense. And yes - the red and blue used here is EXACTLY the same as that used in the current and former Los Angeles Clippers logos. The logo looks like a boat, which is a stand-in for a Clipper ship - the Los Angeles Clippers, which were originally based in the naval city of San Diego (as the San Diego Clippers), borrows its nickname from the aforementioned seafaring vessel. The logo incorporates a stylized "LA" (which you can see here), and the bottom of the logo incorporates a part of a basketball, which is commonplace for NBA logos. (By my count, two-thirds of all NBA teams have this as part of their primary logo.) Not to brag, but I say that this idea is too good to ignore. If someone improves upon this design and it gets some serious press, I've done my job already. Thoughts? Disclaimer: This work, illustrated herein, is an entirely original concept by sj10689 (the original author of this thread); any other logos/designs which have already been created prior to the posting of this comment, that bear any (striking) similarity, or is (almost) exactly the same, constitutes a circumstance which is purely coincidental. Therefore, as sj10689 is verily the creator of this work, which was not in any way inspired by, nor copied from any other pre-existing works, sj10689 assumes full ownership of this property. P.S.: I go by "Adam_Halverson" outside the forums, on sportslogos.net. I reposted this concept on the Los Angeles Clippers primary logo page.
  21. When the MLS was a possiblity for Charlotte, I put together some different branding and logos designs. Both fairly similar, I learned shortly after the first, Queen City FC that the MLS was not looking for nicknames to be used, so there was a quick facelift to the whole design. Here are the two concept sites for each - again fairly similar - http://ericpaullin.com/FCCharlotte/ http://ericpaullin.com/charlottemlspitch/
  22. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  23. (Updated) I have updated the main post so the finalized renderings are seen first. (Still debating over final numbers. Both based off current Eagles font, but modified) Here is the remainder of the blog for how the above were created. Look through and comment I will update the finals if suggestions and changes are warranted. **** ORIGINAL POST BELOW ***** Okay, I've heard lots of talk about modernizing a throwback classic Eagles uniform but haven't seen any good renderings for what the single vision is for this. So, I took the time and created a one. There is too much discussion to me about "Kelly Green". It's more than that. It's bringing back tradition and having an identity that the loyal fan base can relate to. Lots of Kelly Green advocates seem to just want the "old" back. And this annoys the Millennials who don't care about the past...preferring cool. I just want green back (not some hipster made up color) and would love to see a return of silver. To me, the Eagles' colors should be green, silver and white. Agree??? I feel these would be some of the best uniforms in football...home or away. Your input is appreciated to fine tune them. Notes: Green - Not Kelly (50/60s), and not as dark as 80's. Hopefully modernly in between (jersey would have modern shiny shoulder/chest) Silver - The silver has a slight green tint to make it unique (pants would be shiny material) No black - removed from wing logo (any black seen is outline of drawings only) Facemask - Gray, not shiny silver Concept - Closest is Vick era throwback 50's (with shoulder stripes everyone comments on), mixed with the 80's (without overdoing the stripes), and utilizing modern helmet wing and materials
  24. Forgive what is a double post, but the General Design forum doesn’t seem to be running rampant with active users. These are at least concepts for a real-life soccer league, so I’m hoping this is considered a legit post. Anyway, I'm in the throes of creating an adult rec soccer league in my area--the Rocky Mountains. I'm calling it Apex Rec Soccer League, drawing on both the noun and the verb form of the word "apex." I've narrowed down about 20 ideas to these two, both of which are shown in color and B&W. I have my thoughts on which is better and why I designed the way I did; typesetting will be completed when I finalize the logo itself. I'll hold off on my own thoughts until there is initial feedback. Thanks in advance for any ideas/praise/critiques.
