  1. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  2. (Updated) I have updated the main post so the finalized renderings are seen first. (Still debating over final numbers. Both based off current Eagles font, but modified) Here is the remainder of the blog for how the above were created. Look through and comment I will update the finals if suggestions and changes are warranted. **** ORIGINAL POST BELOW ***** Okay, I've heard lots of talk about modernizing a throwback classic Eagles uniform but haven't seen any good renderings for what the single vision is for this. So, I took the time and created a one. There is too much discussion to me about "Kelly Green". It's more than that. It's bringing back tradition and having an identity that the loyal fan base can relate to. Lots of Kelly Green advocates seem to just want the "old" back. And this annoys the Millennials who don't care about the past...preferring cool. I just want green back (not some hipster made up color) and would love to see a return of silver. To me, the Eagles' colors should be green, silver and white. Agree??? I feel these would be some of the best uniforms in football...home or away. Your input is appreciated to fine tune them. Notes: Green - Not Kelly (50/60s), and not as dark as 80's. Hopefully modernly in between (jersey would have modern shiny shoulder/chest) Silver - The silver has a slight green tint to make it unique (pants would be shiny material) No black - removed from wing logo (any black seen is outline of drawings only) Facemask - Gray, not shiny silver Concept - Closest is Vick era throwback 50's (with shoulder stripes everyone comments on), mixed with the 80's (without overdoing the stripes), and utilizing modern helmet wing and materials
  3. Forgive what is a double post, but the General Design forum doesn’t seem to be running rampant with active users. These are at least concepts for a real-life soccer league, so I’m hoping this is considered a legit post. Anyway, I'm in the throes of creating an adult rec soccer league in my area--the Rocky Mountains. I'm calling it Apex Rec Soccer League, drawing on both the noun and the verb form of the word "apex." I've narrowed down about 20 ideas to these two, both of which are shown in color and B&W. I have my thoughts on which is better and why I designed the way I did; typesetting will be completed when I finalize the logo itself. I'll hold off on my own thoughts until there is initial feedback. Thanks in advance for any ideas/praise/critiques.
  4. After doing individual logo series for both the Knicks and the Bulls, I decided to try and revamp the entire logo schemes for every team, featuring both a primary and an alternate or partial. I started off with the Central Division of the Eastern Conference: Milwaukee Bucks: The primary logo sees major changes to its overall structure, while keeping the same style and colors as the new scheme. First off, the deer's head is widened for a fiercer look. Additionally, I flattened out the bottom of the logo's base for smoother application on things like shorts and a better look overall. Additionally, on the primary, I reverted back to the long used style instead of the roundel they currently use. This features the newer text along with the Milwaukee city skyline. I think this offers up a more unique look. Chicago Bulls: This is nearly the same logo I used for my Chicago Bulls concept, just given a shorter nose and larger snout and minor refinements. The primary is similar in style to their current logo but it features a new font. Cleveland Cavaliers: I am not a fan of the new logo style whatsoever, but I do love the new font. Thus, I took advantage of that and used it for the primary logo and alternate. The two swords in the primary are familiar, but the blue (now black) has been cut out from the scheme entirely, leaving the classic crimson and gold. The alternate is a play on the current "C" logo they use, but featuring the new C for uniformity purposes. Now the logo combos actually look like they were made at the same time. Detroit Pistons: I love the current brand new Pistons primary logo, so I left it mostly in tact with only minor alterations to the color scheme featuring a brighter blue. I also added a border around the text to allow the name and city to pop more. The alternate is new, featuring the "D" comprising the hole of the "P" without being too overt like the previous logo of this style. I also added three wings in the spirit of the Detroit automotive logo history and to represent the 3 championships the pistons have won. Indiana Pacers: The Pacers basic logo has gone virtually untouched over the past 30 years or so. I updated the primary font and the logo, featuring a much more uniform 5 skid stripes extending from the ball and a new brighter color scheme. The alternate/partial features a checkered-style ball in line with the name, but I cut out the middle line for uniformity purposes. Let me know what you think. Next up will be the Atlantic Division
  5. Central College (Pella, IA) Division III Press Release with a highlight video Logo by: Joe Bosack & Co. Old and new logo attached.
  6. This is my first time trying my hand at graphic design, and I wanted to see what others thought. I'm not an artist, and I don't have an incredibly deep understanding of graphic design- I assume what I drew has bad vectoring, but I couldn't tell you the first thing about what vectors are, or what adding the suffix 'ing' to the word vector actually means. So if this is offensively amateur, feel free to let me know and I'll scrub this post! Just wondering if this is anything.
  7. I'm just posting to share a concept logo i've been working on for a competition on another forum. As a part of the competition I am creating an identity for a NYC based Australian Rules team, and I decided to go with Snapping Turtles as my mascot as it's the state reptile of NY. I've stuck with the blue and orange synonymous with NYC sports. I'd love some feedback! I need to work on a wordmark to go with this, but I always struggle with wordmarks and working them into a logo.
  8. Hi all, As many of you know, the Detroit Red Wings logo is the oldest logo in the NHL right now. As sacrilegious as this sounds, I decided to modernize/refresh the look of the Red Wings' classic logo quite a bit. Some of the new updates would include: 1. A New Wheel: The most prominent difference is the updated wheel, reflecting a modern car wheel cover. Additionally, the cap now showcases the rarely used alternate "D" logo. 2. Updated/Significant Wings and Feathers: On the current logo, the feathers are relatively rough and hard to replicate on merchandise. I decided to smoothen out the feathers on the wings, while also adding a bit of significance to the feathers too. If you take a look, the back feathers contain 11 "dents", representing the 11 stanley cups the team has won. 3. Minor smoothing: Rougher/inconsistent edges are smoothened out and evened. 4. New Font: The current font used by the Red Wings reflects the same font as the former home, Joe Louis Arena. In order to reflect the change into the new arena, I updated the serif for the team as well. This is a bit rough, but tell me what y'all think if the Red Wings chose to do this? OLD: NEW:
  9. Hello, We are giving away two bundles of sports logo vectors, featuring aggressive animals and human characters. These can be repurposed for any sport. The logos come both in .EPS and .AI formats, separated for each different animal/human character. We also included some fitting fonts to change the city and team names. They're subject to unlimited license, which means you can basically do anything you like with them as long as it shares the same license (it's included in the zip). So that's it, if you like them you can find the files here, and I'll be up to answer any question you guys might have. Also we'd love to see any logo you make with them :). And feel free to share them anywhere you like! Aggressive Animal Logo Human Character Logos
  10. Hello! This is my first ever uniform/logo concepts I have ever done. I am a graphic designer on Instagram, and I am taking a jab at concepts for the first time. Constructive criticism and Feedback is very welcomed!
  11. The Boston Bruins Logo is timeless, and that's why I decided to redesign it. ...Wait what? One of the best challenges is designing a new logo that "Cannot be made any better." By no means am I saying it's better, but I had a blast making it. What are your thoughts?
  12. I've prepared some NHL concepts where I try and refresh team branding and uniforms. I'm trying to make the rest of the league fall more in line with what I've come to expect from Adidas. All teams get *some* sort of change from their current (Reebok) uniforms, although a few don't see much change at all (ie. Flyers, Leafs). I will accept C&C but I don't plan on making revisions to the uniforms unless I really feel compelled. I will be adding "Marquee Matchups" where teams use special uniforms. This is where C&C would be most useful, in suggesting matchups, uniforms, revisions, etc. I will use this first post as a HUB for the concepts: Metropolitan Battle of New York (NYI v NYR) Keystone Classic (PHI @ PIT) Stevens' Cup (WAS + MIN @ NJD) Ohio Classic (PIT @ CBJ) Atlantic Tribute (NJD v PHI) All-American Clash (STL v NYR) Atlantic Battle of Ontario (TOR v OTT) Governor's Cup (FLA v TBL) All-American Clash (WAS v DET) International Classic (BOS @ MTL) Norris Cup (CHI v DET) Hartford Classic (CAR v BUF) Central All-American Clash (NSH v COL) International Classic (VAN @ CHI) All-American Clash (MIN v STL) Battle of Wisconsin (MIN v CHI) All-Canadian Clash (TOR v WPG) Star Series (MIN v DAL) Pacific California Series (ANA + SJS @ LAK) Battle of Alberta (CGY v EDM) Battle of the Desert (ARI v VGK) Marquee of '93 (FLA v ANA) All-American Clash (VGK v LAK) Pacific Territories (SJS v VAN)
  13. In the past year, I've been strategizing on a project involving a professional volleyball league. It would be called the World Volleyball Association and act as a nod to the International Volleyball Association of the 1970s. Many of the teams in this new league would have brands similar to the 1970s counterpart but take on a modern identity. This project is meant to help build my design portfolio after I graduate from VCU and any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I plan on making this project on an extended timeline but I wanted to at least share my idea for the league's official emblem. Backstory: Since this league would be a direct descendant of the original International Volleyball Association, I wanted to introduce a palette of 1970s pastel colors, a groovy yet futuristic typeface, and a stylistic reference of two opposing sides facing of inside of superimposed tennis court. The orange roundel encompassing the other elements of this design are meant to act as a globe. Seeing as the league would be "represented" on a global level with co-ed rosters, it would act as a message of unity.
  14. NCAA Tournament is winding down, MLB Opening Day a week away or less, and the release of MLB The Show 17 tonight, I thought it would be fun to show you a World Series Concept Logo I've been working on. World Series Logos from years past My Concept for the 2017 World Series: A navy and steel blue gradient diamond with a red interior outline and white bases and home plate. Four pennant flags (four because two didn't look like enough) I guess you could say the four stand for the following: 1 to represent the NL, 1 to represent the AL. 1 for the NL champion and 1 for the AL champion (but I think that's reaching a bit). The World Series in a "Championship Gold" and "Autumn Brown" gradients. Date in white above, and the MLB league logo at the bottom. Improvements: - Wondering if MLB league logo should be a bit smaller to center with home plate. - I had a baseball logo that I was going to put in the two pennant flags but didn't look right to me and wasn't sure where else to put it. - World Series seems like it's not truly centered, which according to my program I use it is, so maybe it's my eyes playing tricks on me. As usual, C&C appreciated. (The timer on MLB The Show 17 on my PS4 is moving so slow...)
  15. Have at it...
  16. As a Spurs fan, I was completely let down when the new secondary logo was recently released. I think the new logo is way too generic and does not represent the organization at all. Even though I'm not a fan of the simplistic logo trend going around the NBA, I wanted to design my own minimalist concept for the SA Spurs that featured the iconic Alamo with the basketball.
  17. Hello everyone and thank you for visiting this thread. this will be a short concept that ill be doing of the Houston Rockets. I like the Rockets current logo for the reasos that it is simple and simple is always good but its missing the creativity of the old logos so i decided to do a mash-up of a few of the logos. it isnt done yet but i would love some C&C on what can be improved (i will be adding a rocket into the logo so dont say "ADD A ROCKET") but i will accept any response if you dont think it needs one. the 2 logos i chose to merge with the current logo are the San Diego Rockets & The 72-95 Logo(Championship era) Logos pictured below San Diego: 72-95 Championship era: i went with the colors of the 95 logo and the negative space in the san diego logo i added to the new one. now without further ado heres version 1.0 of the logo i came up with. New Logo:
  18. Not sure if this is the right place, but Bolton Wanderers (UK soccer team) have been running a logo competition and my design has been shortlisted. I have attached the designs below, I would love to hear everyones thoughts on all the logos. Please see the link below if you would like to vote. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2017/may/logo-competition-shortlist-announced/
  19. the cleveland cavaliers launched a new logo a few days ago, a black shield, so i made a little upgrade with the second logo. i left the new logo, the second, and my upgrade. (im not good editing, so its possible that you will see some mistake editing)
  20. Given that it's Canada's 150th anniversary I thought I would try my hand at making a concept logo for the occasion. Let me know your thoughts.
  21. Decided to create some winter classic logos for the Rangers, Sabres, and the game itself. Rangers: A mix of their 1920s-30s logo with the modern logo, along with the throwback white color. Sabres: Using the current buffalo and two sabre concept, but adjusting it with some throwback white. Event Logo: Using reference from the inaugural logo for Citi Field from 2009, this logo uses citi field's facade, along with the commonly used winter classic logo. Lemme know what you think:
  22. Just a quick stress relieving exercise and a logo update to match the teams other various branding. Nothing special here
