  2. My friends and I have been making basketball courts for the NCAA in the past few weeks and I have decided to post mine now. If you have any requests let me know and i'll make one for you. I hope you enjoy *The Template we use is made by DarthBrooks*
  3. NCAA(for now) basketball court designs are on this page! These are just my designs, and I am wanting some feedback, along with some help. I will be uploading courts of mine and my friends. Without further or do, lets dive into these courts! Shoutouts to: @slapshot @CheeseBurger22 @CinnamonRoll21 @edjb93 @officeglenn @Jake3.roo @kodrinsky @HRC4 @Clintau24 @dakotapalm @BellaSpurs *The template I use is not mine. All credit goes to DarthBrooks for the template.*
  4. Whilst I wait for comments on my soccer series, I took a shot at arguably the worst D-1 logo, the LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds. Yeah. Ew. The font is kinda meh, but the logo really sets it apart from all the others, and it looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old in MS Paint. So what can we do to fix it? I just razed the whole building and started over, at the removal of Brooklyn and making it just Long Island University, as a new era in the history of athletics (I realize Post Is there but does anyone really care about them?). Second, The new logo is much different and draws some inspiration from the most recent upgrade of the UNC-Wilmington logo as well as the aptly-named Blackbird fighter jet. There is also a newer, cleaner font. Third, I tried a new court, based on NYC herringbone subway tile in the apron. I tried sublimating the bridge in, but it wouldn't work that well. I had uniforms, but just never liked the way they turned out, I may post later if something is figured out. I could also do other sports, a la baseball or hockey. C&C appreciated!
  5. As many of you already know, I still play NCAA Football 14 and can't wait for another game to come out. Not that it's likely with EA at this point, but a man can dream. That being said, one of the major issues I've always had with the NCAA franchise, is that beyond FBS, they don't really care about FCS and lower. Up until the release on the PS3 and XBOX 360, the game did use to include FCS teams, but dropped them completely when they did move to the new hardware. They eventually made Teambuilder as a was of making up for the lack of FCS teams, but it really didn't. Point is that FCS, D2, D3, NAIA, and whoever else didn't get any love and representation in the games. Hypothetically speaking, should EA or another developer come out with a NCAA football video game, would it be feasible for them to include FCS, etc all teams in the game? See what I'm thinking is that with the current generation hardware and beyond (PS5?) it should be possible to create the 600+ college football teams for play in the game. Wether this is on the disk or DLC, I think I can and should be done. I'm curious what everyone else things, particularly those of you who know more about video gaming that I do. Is it indeed possible to do it and if so, would you want it? I think a game where you can play as any college team with properly recreated uniforms, stadiums and such would be great. But does anyone else find value in playing as a D3 school in a video game?
  6. Hey all! I'm back with another installment of what I guess is a long running series of college hockey concepts! Previously, I've done concepts for national champs and mainstays, mid-level contenders, and college hockey's resident oddity. Today I take on what might be college hockey's most obscure school: The Bentley University Falcons. Bentley is a small school in Waltham, MA, located just nine miles outside of Boston. Unlike it's four neighboring schools to the east, Bentley has demonstrated little success since its rise to Division 1 in 1999. The Falcons are a bad team in the Atlantic Hockey Conference, easily the worst conference in D1. The Atlantic only factors into the national scene every year because it has an automatic qualifier, so its champion will eliminated SOMEONE from the national tournament (or beat St. Cloud in their yearly first round exit). To demonstrate just how awful the Atlantic Conference is, here is the actual, 100% real, I'm not joking in any way conference logo: Bentley is a perennial bottom feeder, never making the National Tournament, never even finishing higher than 45th in the pairwise since its inception in 2003. The school's branding reflects its lack of success. The primary logo is a split-color shield featuring a beveled B. The logo somehow has five colors. Three shades of grey, blue, and white. The alternate logo is a poorly drawn bird featuring SEVEN colors, the five from the primary, and an additional blue, and yellow. I wanted to create a more modern and respectable identity for Bentley, which began with examining what type of Falcon I wanted to use. I ultimately chose the American Kestrel a small bird to represent a small school. The design is relatively straightforward, replacing the Kestrel's reddish-brown feathers with the school's cobalt blue. The identity also features a custom font designed to better pair with the logo than a normal block font. Here is a side by side comparison with the current logo set: Finally, the uniforms. The striping is an homage to the current shield with a blue and white/black stripe. Despite liking the blue, Bentley currently wears black primarily in real life and I felt the color scheme was a more unique look. Thanks for viewing guys, I'd love your C+C!
  7. On the Men's side, I'm liking this template. Can't wait to see what they do with Indy and Atlanta. The Women's logo is just beautiful...
  8. Leaving you with this for the weekend: I new look for a classic program.
  9. My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407
  10. Press Release
  11. After nearly 3 years of working on this, I have finally completed what started out as a complete 59-team (now 60) re-design of every D1 hockey program in the NCAA. When I first started this I wanted to post them all at once, yet I had no idea it would take me this long to do. But here it is. Notes: - All jerseys were done with a CCM template simply for my sake of not having multiple templates. - The helmets in the pictures will seem off on some images, that's simply because I started off with having a home & away helmet and it was easier to just erase the one helmet instead of doing that and re-positioning it on every image. I eventually decided to just go with the singular helmet that they do presently. - Helmets don't have cages, this was an oversight. - Names on the jerseys are not up to date. Goes to show how long it took me to do this. - I tried my best to have every team have a unique striping pattern from each other. - Some jerseys build off jerseys that they team may have already used. Atlantic Hockey BIG 10 / Independent ECAC Hockey East NCHC WCHA
  12. UAA has used the same classic, tribal art influenced, logo since 1973 (REF). As stated, the logo is classic; but I was wondering - What if UAA would update their look? What would a Seawolf look like if it were modernized? What is the basis for the Seawolves name? In Haida and Tlingit culture; a seawolf is an enormous creature that preys upon pilot and killer whales. It as four legs with fins, a head similar to a wolf, and a tail like a fish or a whale or sometimes a prehensile tail. (This is not a wolf with an eye patch ) Before becoming the Seawolves, UAA's nickname was the Sourdoughs in reference to old sailors..... good upgrade. After researching historic and contemporary Haida and Tlingit depictions of seawolves I got to drawing out what a new Seawolves logo might look like, so here is my concept logo for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves: Newest idea: 1/15/18 1/16/18 1/17/18 C&C Apreciated
  13. Hi, everyone! After several months of not posting concepts, I'm back! This time around, I'm focusing on college football uniforms, and, just like my previous topic, these concepts were also done in Paint. The templates used here vary, depending on which fits the design. Credits to the Sports Font Database, as well as some previous CFB concepts made by the people of CCSLC, especially mbannon92. Some concepts will utilize their current uniforms and have a few tweaks, while some will be complete redesigns. Also, no Russell Athletic on this concept. I would like to know your comments and reactions from you. 14. Hello all! With the college football season all but over, it's time to look to the NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns completed their winless season and have the first overall pick as well as the 4th overall pick (from the Texans). Sam Darnold appears to be on a fast track to Cleveland, so here he is in a Browns jersey. This is my first ever jersey swap and I would love to get all of your guys' thoughts on what i can improve. More guys to come! Thanks for looking. ORIGINAL: JERSEY SWAP:
  15. Army Navy is first, because Army Navy is awesome. More to come, give the helmet you want, if you request. First come, first serve, unless i've already made that helmet. Edit: Decided it would make most sense to add the new ones to this first post.
  16. Hello everybody! After about 2 months of not posting, I'm back! I have looked through a lot of concepts trying to find the perfect basketball concepts for college, I have not found it. Credit to @CAB for his good designs for the teams he did, and SportsFontDatabase. I will be doing the power 5 and the Big East. I will be doing the good teams too but not their whole conference. C&C is always appreiated! You will notice things about this thread: 1. Most of the uniforms are the ones that the currently have, it is very hard to change the uniforms that they have. 2. I have put the sponser on the right side of the uniforms. Enjoy the uniforms! ACC: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami(FL), NC State, North Carolina, Norte Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
  17. I made some wallpaper edits on Adobe Photoshop for every bowl game this season. I used the wordmark logos for every except Ohio State & Wisconsin I downloaded fonts and made their wordmark logo. I like to be as accurate as possible with my helmets so if anyone notices I used the wrong helmet design for any teams please let me know. I will update all helmets if teams announce a different helmet design then the one I uploaded. 18. I am a huge Illini fan and I love Chief Illiniwek but when I saw the Illinois Fighting Illini page, I noticed something weird, There is no primary logo from 1957-1988 and the Chief logo was retired in 2007, so how could it be a secondary logo till 2013... I am baffled and hoping that maybe someone can fix those mistakes.
  19. The College Football Playoff, despite being infinitely better than the BCS, is still flawed. I feel that 4 teams is insufficient, and that the whole bowl system is just a mess. That being said, I have come up with a fix. In this thread, I will post weekly brackets that would line-up with this system (with tweaks I think would happen), and when the final rankings come out, all 16 teams' uniforms for the playoff. So, without further ado, here is my idea for a 16-team playoff field. 1. FBS teams play a 10-game, 11-week regular season schedule, including 1 bye week. (weeks 1-11; Aug, 26-Nov. 4) Schedule includes 6-8 conference games, and 2-4 non-conference FBS games. FBS teams will no longer be allowed to play FCS teams (avoids many strength of schedule ?'s). Week 12 = nationwide bye week/ Army-Navy game (Nov. 11) Week 13 = conference championship games, Selection Sunday (Nov. 16-19) 2. Postseason - Power-5 conference champions receive automatic bid, but do not get home-field or higher seeds. Committee will still select wild cards and seed teams. Week 14 = Playoff BYE; start group-of-5 bowl games. (Nov. 20-30) Week 15 = Playoff round 1; 8 games played at higher seed's home field. (Nov. 30, Dec. 1-2). Week 16 = Playoff round 2; 4 games played as Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta Bowls (could rotate every year for #1 ovr. seeds, locations, bowls, etc.); Group-of-5 and Power-5 non-playoff bowl games during week, Playoff games Friday night and Saturday (Dec. 4-9) Week 17 = Playoff BYE; Rd. 1 loser bowl games start and Power-5 non-playoff bowl games continue/finish. (December 11-22) Week 18 = Playoff round 3; 2 games played at neutral sites (2018 in Indy, Houston; rotate every year.) (Dec. 23) Week 19 = Playoff BYE; playoff round 2 loser bowls start and finish (Dec. 26- Jan.1) Note: Round 3 losers do not get extra bowl games since they played in the Final 4. Week 20 = Playoff Championship (2018 in Atlanta, rotate every year). (January 8) Uhhhh, edit: I can't figure out how to post an image directly from my computer. I've posted on this before and was able to browse my files, is that not possible anymore? It's been a while since I've posted. Sorry, this is embarassing.
  20. This has basically been a one-man quest. Although I never truly seeked out validation, I like to think I got a measure of it last year when Mississippi State decided to dress like the Patriots for their game in Foxborough. So, after a while on the sidelines, I'm back in the saddle, as... Since it's been a while, here's a refresher of the basic rules I impose on myself for these things: Pick X number of players, usually four. The main aim is to see what said players' college unis would look like in their pro styles, and vice versa. Whenever possible, only uniform styles and logos in use when the player was in college/with the NFL team in question will be used. Every now and then, a semi-original logo must be created, or an older logo put into use, to achieve what I'm aiming for. Same goes for number fonts in most cases. Throwbacks are included in this rule. I may occasionally forget a small detail or two. It happens. If a uniform that either predates or postdates a player's time at his school/team is sufficiently awesome enough, at my discretion I might waive rule #3, also known as the Woodson Exception (after Charles Woodson). I figured I'd lead off with Mr. Last Second Pass to Win the National Championship. With apologies to Metta Ron Panda, we welcome the One Tru Warier to C2P. I know one thing. The Browns' style was trickier than it has any right to be...kinda like the Lions' blue is rarer than it should be. And now we close things out with the Bald One
  21. I am making college football fields concept for you all. I know this is going to be an unpopular decision, but I will NOT be doing colored football fields. I am sticling with the traditional green. C&C is always appreciated! I am starting with the power five then moving on to the non power 5. Enjoy!
  22. Another Neo-Vintage Mascot Logo Concept; this time Big Al from the University of Alabama marches on through the puny competition! This was a previous look I created for Al:
  23. Took another look at my Neo-Vintage Hokie Bird from 2014 and refreshed it! 2014: 2017: I have a GIF to highlight the differences, but it doesn't seem to work...
  24. Post any name/logo changes to upcoming 2016 NCAA Div I Bowl Games here. I'll start. GoDaddy Bowl becomes the Dollar General Bowl.
  25. Welcome! I am making concept uniforms for the FBS starting with the power 5! NOTICE: All teams will be sponsored by Nike, and are all dome on apps. Sorry if the quality is not the greatest. C&C is always appreciated! ACC: Boston College
