  1. World Series, SuperBowl, Stanley Cup, etc. Probably something that has been talked ad nauseam, but I'm still curious. e.g. Super Bowl XLV: Jets vs. Bears - Mainly for the hilariousity factor. 2 teams that have been a joke for the past few decades facing each other in a Super Bowl. Super Bowl XLII: Patriots vs. Packers - Mainly because we never got a great Brady vs. Favre game. 2001 World Series: Mariners vs. D-Backs - Best team the Mariners had during the KG jr era, would have been nice to see them go all the way after setting that win record. Also Nintendo owning a championship sports team.
  2. New to the forum, but I've been a lurker for a while now. Being that I am a Titans fan and that there has been quite a bit of talk about them and their new uniforms lately I figured I would give things a shot. This is not how I envision them to do things at all, but more like how I would do it i it were up to me. I did take a few design cues away from some of the sneak peaks though. Going off of there "Tradition Evolved" campaign motto, I did just that by merging a similar styling and color scheme with some modern updates. Let me know what you think. AWAY HOME COLOR RUSH
  3. What up folks it's been a long time since I last posted something in the Concepts' forum. What l got here to show ya is my take for TNF. We all know that the whole "color rush" program has been criticized for long and that some teams are tryna sneak out of it ( see : my Fins wearing all white vs the all purple Ravens even if orange and purple don't clash ; or the redskins wearing all burgundy instead of their all-yellow CR look) , but i think that this is a great idea to switch things up a lil bit , if done correctly. Personally , i hate the fact that in 2016 only 2 outta 14 (and in 2017 4 outta 13 ) "supposed" CR games were actually color vs color matchups. So, i think back in December 2016, i started creating my own list of CR unis , to create more color vs color games and to make even the color vs white games more interesting from a jerseys' point of view. HERE ARE THE RULES: 1) each team gets a "color" uni and a "whiteout" uni 2) i know it sucks , but i kept the one-helmet rule. Team can switch decals tho if they want to 3) helmet logos sometimes are modified to create a different look from the "normal" one . Some helmets will have logos that look something like this , you know , just to mix things up 4) The home team always wears the colored uniforms. If the opponent's color clashes, then the opponent is allowed to use its special "whiteout" CR uni 5) Home team has to paint the field in full CR style (you'll see) Without further ado , let's roll. I'm going to post by division , 2 teams at a time . (note that since I've done these in the last year/year and a half, some players may have changed team, i already tell ya that i didn't wanna fix those unis so i didn't) Starting with AFC WEST LOS ANGELES CHARGERS As much as i love their current CR uniforms, i think yellow suits more the CR overall idea, so i went with that. The colored uni gets a yellow facemask, while the whiteout gets a white one and a number on the side of the helmet . The whiteout has all the yellow removed from the uniform except for the logo on the helmet. The field follows the yellow style of the colored uniforms (as all the fields do) , even the center-field logo gets the yellow facemask LAS VEGAS RAIDERS They gon move in 2020 if not even in 2019 so i already used the LV name. Color uni is a blackout , and this is the first Oregonesque helmet logo that y'all get to see. The whiteout is basically their current CR uniform (which is a fauxback) but gets a throwback logo on the helmet What y'all think ? Am i off to a good start ? KC and DEN up next after some C&C
  4. Well, apparently there's this thing called training camp going on, so let's get this thread started, shall we? P.S. I had thought about subtitling this thread "New England and the 31 dwarves", but decided against it.
  5. It seems like every year as details trickle out that teams are getting new uniforms, some random 'source' pops up claiming to have seen the uniform in question and provides an over the top description that sends this board into a frenzy. Maybe it's not a good idea to enable these rumors with mock ups but I thought it would be fun to take these crazy ideas and make concepts out of them. Cleveland Browns The rumor: White helmets, 'total overhaul' Added numbers to the helmet, reversed the number/shadow colors on the home and away. Took the notched stripe design from their current look and kept it floating within the sleeve a la OK State/extended it further down the pant leg so that it's almost a full stripe again. White striped socks for all, orange alt, and white fauxback for the Color Rush. Denver Broncos The rumor: the Color Rush jersey becomes the primary Kept the logo and number font from the current look, brightened the colors back to their earlier shades, added white and blue jerseys/pants. Orange remains the Color Rush. Here's every Broncos concept on this board ever Denver: Thanks for checking these out, I have a few more that I'll be posting in a bit.
  6. I had started a thread in the sports logos section a few months back in regards to this design. I recently made contact with someone from LSUA who advised me they did not choose any of the entries they received for their contest. So with that being said I can now go ahead and post my work. The idea behind this concept was to use a TIGER to create a link between LSUA and LSU while introducing a fresh interpretation that would connect to the Generals nickname. Secondary and tertairy marks were added to further tie in to the Generals home and location while also making it a complete set. Check em out and let me know what you all think. Appreciate everyone's C&C. Thanks for stopping by!
  7. My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407
  8. Been a while since the last concept I posted...and it seems like forever since I posted an NFL concept that wasn't College to Pro. That said, here we go with the Niners Not much of a departure here...the home's stripes are gold, and gold trim has been added to the lettering on both jerseys, not to mention the now-red facemask. The grid plaid is a Sourdough Sam shoutout, which I figured would look best with white pants. Now here go the Jets. Went back to kelly green as the main color, with forest green as trim only. Also modified the oval into a football shape like they had it in the 60s...and then introduced a secondary jet, which I incorporated into the helmet, shoulder and pants stripes. Lastly, a piecemeal fauxback using the jet as the helmet logo, and a jersey modeled after the Staten Island Stapletons...the body from their final season in the NFL and the sleeves from their first three seasons. Speak now or fade into Bolivian
  9. I am trying to push myself into new styles of design in 2018 Fraser Davidson's Tom Brady logo video inspired me to start logo-meets-portrait designs I want to develop my highlighting and overall economy of design, so any feedback is appreciated!! ( Doug Flutie was overrated!) https://www.behance.net/gallery/61682303/Rob-Johnson-USC-Trojans https://dribbble.com/shots/4183726-Rob-Johnson-USC-Trojans-Logo
  10. I was looking through the NFL logos on the mother ship and this one stood out to me as one to try to rework. The shape has always seemed off to me and I realized that it is because this head was lifted off of the full (human) bodied Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals logos so it doesn't give much of a full bodied bird feel. The head seems to taper down into a human-like neck area. So here is my take: No highlight vs highlight? I'm still undecided as to whether it would "fly" as an NFL logo or if it's just a nice cardinal logo. C&C appreciated.
  11. With the Super Bowl LIII logo expected to be revealed in a little over a week from now (who are we kidding, it'll look something like this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C4RsXzdUoAAcFf5.jpg), I decided to throw my hat in the ring on this one to make a concept of my own. I know it is a little pixelated, but all I've got to work with (or know how to use at least) is MS Paint. I'm still a bit unsure if I've got the colors nailed down, or if I should add a dark outline to the whole logo for when it is displayed on a light background, or jerseys and a field. Let me know what you all think!
  12. The 2017-2018 NFL Playoffs are set, and 12 teams are setting their minds on the Lombardi Trophy. But, what would be the most aesthetically beautiful Super Bowl? Here are mine. Favorite: (vikings in purple pants) Worst: Prediction:
  13. I haven't used this thread in over two years, and use another instead. Can a mod please close this for further comments? Thanks
  14. Looks like they'll be using the same Super Bowl field template from last year with team logo sitting next to team wordmark. The compressed nature of the Eagles wordmark will leave a lot of blank space to the right while I assume the Patriots endzone will look the same as last year's
  15. The Tennessee Titans' logo and uniforms and I have had a bit of an on-again-off-again relationship over the years. When I first remember seeing them in the Super Bowl against the Rams in 2000, I was in love with the logo, cuz, you know, FLAMES!!!!!!!! I was five then. As I got older, I soured on the logo, thinking the flames were over the top and the Titans would be better off using the sword alternate logo or the thumbtack roundel. The Titans' refusal to wear reasonable uniforms combos also drives me nuts. The helmet striping doesn't really go with anything and the brashier stripes on the pants don't feel right with the yoke, which has gotten too small over the years. The Uniforms have some good ideas, but I'm not crazy about the execution. Lately, the uniforms are still a mess, but I have come around on the idea of flames for the Titans. I think that is something they can own and it really just works. I do not care for the T logo. Besides the comparison to a thumbtack as far as it's shape goes, it feels small contained within the shield or roundel or whatever the circle is. The Titans logo should be big, "titanic" and the T should be the focal point, IMO. I threw out the bathwater, but kept the baby. The colors remain the same, but the Flaming T is bigger and bolder. I don't think this is a finished product but I'm also not entirely sure what parts of the logo needs more work so, please feel free to offer and C&C. I would really appreciate it. Once the logo gets to a good place, I'll work on some new uniforms to go with the updated logo. Thanks for having a look.
  16. Hey all, this is my first post on this forum in over 2 years. I'm working on a class assignment that asks us to create a brand that appeals to all generations. I decided to pick Denver because if you ever go to (I'm forever calling it) Mile High Stadium, you'll notice there is an internal fan base battle over the new navy and orange color scheme versus the traditional blue and orange from the OG Elway days. I just took some screenshots of the concepts and logo I have created so far because I'm really looking for some C&C on the next steps before I fully turn this into a presentable concept and project. So before I can waste anymore of your time.. Here is my idea. Blend both the Navy and traditional blue into a color scheme that works, evolve the new bronco head with the very famous "D" that has previously been introduced in their most recent Color Rush, and throw in some millennial sprinkles like a mountain and red rocks shadows in the numbering to give everyone a little taste of what they want the Broncos to look like. Again, C&C is very much appreciated! This would be the Broncos Alternate and "Color Rush" The Blue Color Rush and Alternate jersey's should design would be based off the City of Denver Flag. I removed the Sun from the jersey because of Nike's swoosh placement in the NFL. Up Close rough mockup featuring Nike's now famous sublimation pattern of Red Rocks Amphitheater.
  17. Its been a while since I've done a concept uniform on here, so I thought I would try and update my Arizona Cardinals. - Added a sandy tan color to accent the white and red instead of black on the uniforms. - Used a simple striping pattern across all three uniform pieces, I've been sick of the current piping and striping we currently have. - Made the red a little brighter and bolder than the current shade which is more like an actual cardinal in my opinion, not a huge change but still noticeable. - Thought about adding red pants, only for the away uniform, but I decided to keep it a non alternate concept to start. - Credit to Logan Weaver for the template! Home: Away:
  18. Okay. State your straight-up (without point spread) predicted winner of Super Bowl LII. Feel free to add whatever other game-related predictions you'd like. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the Patriots are going to win.
  19. Was wondering what you guys thought which jerseys certain teams will wear. Packers in yellow? Bears in orange? Raiders in Mono- Black? would love to hear what you guys speculate
  20. With the NFL regular set to begin on Thursday night, I am pleased to announce that this year's Weekly Picks contest is now open. This is my third year running this competition, and I'm very excited to go through this again. It makes the NFL more fun. Week 1: Kansas City vs. New England Tampa Bay vs. Miami Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland NY Jets vs. Buffalo Atlanta vs. Chicago Baltimore vs. Cincinnati Arizona vs. Detroit Jacksonville vs. Houston Oakland vs. Tennessee Philadelphia vs. Washington Indianapolis vs. LA Rams Seattle vs. Green Bay Carolina vs. San Francisco NY Giants vs. Dallas New Orleans v. Minnesota LA Chargers vs. Denver -- One rules reminder: Picks for the specific games are to be in by the kickoff of those respective games. I, ever the hypocritical cynic, do believe in the honor system with this game, though. People here have lives, things get forgotten about, sometimes a game might accidentally be forgotten to be selected out of the vast Sunday swath (though I'm hoping to amend that a bit if I post the week's schedule in advance). If a game is forgotten about, you can send a DM or send me a tweet (@KramerIndustry) and, more often than not, I will be generous enough to give credit. If Cleveland is facing New England and NE wins and you forget to make that pick, then I'll logically presume NE would've been the pick and give the nod (do they even play each other this year? Who cares). All I will ask is not to abuse this, is all. For my own convenience, I do record both wins and losses, but ultimately wins is the only category that matters. -- (wtf, this is the third straight season the Giants are in Dallas to open the season. Fix the schedule generator, NFL.) EDIT - thanks @ninersdd; not sure what happened there.
  21. Today while poking around in all the post-Super Bowl recaps and so forth I saw something that caught my attention - something which I somehow missed: evidently for at least four years ago, the NFL changed the Pete Rozelle Super Bowl MVP Trophy... Old: Current: Was XLIX the first year of this change?
  22. Finally got some time to mess around with these hockey uniform templates. I thought I'd try doing hockey uniform versions of the 4 final teams in the NFL playoffs. Never did a mash up before so thought I'd try it out. Wanted to see what the thoughts were. It's the Patriots, Jaguars, Vikings and Eagles. I took various parts of the design from elements of the football uniform, IE: Pant shell stripes from pants, socks from socks or sleeve striping and jersey elements influenced by the elements on the football jerseys. Really enjoyed doing these and experimenting a bit. I didn't change/adjust any of the team logos. I just used the versions that the teams use in the NFL. Hopefully this works.
  23. Hey everyone, With the regular season coming to a close and the playoffs gearing to start, I figured now would be a good time to post a project that I've been working on the past couple of months: an NFL Tweaks Series. This series will operate in a similar fashion to my original MLB Tweaks, with me only changing the elements of each team's identity that I find necessary. Here are some rules I went by that I figure you all should know going in: -This is an unpopular opinion, but I really do not like the use of gray facemasks on helmets, when that color cannot be found anywhere else in the identity. So you'll likely be seeing a lot of those go. -I decided to keep the idea of Color Rush uniforms, since the NFL is still technically employing it as a program. However, I decided to add a personal rule: that being the socks must always match the color of the helmet. For some teams, that leaves them with their completely monochrome looks, for others, it makes the use of entirely one color a bit less gaudy. -I'm also going to try to follow the one-helmet rule, as conceptually to maintain brand strength it's not a bad idea. -As with the MLB, the overall goal was to modernize the looks of the NFL in a clean, classic way. -Some big inspirations that I can think off throughout the making of this were Jesse Alkire's NFL series as well as @bkknight95's series, so a lot of credit goes to both of them. -I'll be posting in alphabetical order, two teams at a time. Hopefully I'll be able to have all the teams posted before the Super Bowl. So the first teams up are two that have been stuck in the early 2000's piping trend for quite a while now, the Cardinals and the Falcons. First up being the Arizona Cardinals! Logos -The primary & helmet logo stays the same, the cardinal head is a great logo. -All of the copper elements have to do with Color Rush, as you'll see in the uniforms... Uniforms -Right off the bat, it's clear that the Arizona flag was a huge inspiration in the design, with the sunrise pattern occupying the sleeve caps and the pants stripe. It also sort of has the effect of feathers, while also mimicking the multiple stripes on some of the Cardinals' inaugural uniforms. -I decided to go with sharper, more angular numbers in order to mimic the claws of a bird. -Although the primary home and away sets are the combinations shown above, the Cardinals could also wear the red pants occasionally on the road, and vice versa. -I'm not really big on the Cardinals having a black alternate, but I figured it looked "cool" with the added red & yellow. This alternate would only be used at most once a year. -The Color Rush set embraces a color that only Arizona could own: a nice shade of copper, as seen on the flag. I know it might look a little out there, but for me at least it was better than black, and embraced the entire state. Next up, here are the Atlanta Falcons! Logos -I decided to take silver out of the color scheme, and just focus on black and a bright scarlet red. The primary loses some cluttered outlines, and the helmet becomes red, as I'll explain more in the uniform section. Uniforms -I decided to go with the red helmet for the Falcons since it helps them stand out more in a division filled with black. I also think it goes better with both the red primary and black alternate jersey. -I went with a number font based on the current wordmark font, much like many Falcons concepts do. -For the striping pattern, I went with one that mimics the feather angles of the primary logo but also has some precedence in Atlanta's early history. This allows the uniform to be sharp & modern while still rooted in tradition. -For the Color Rush, I went all-red but with black numbers in order to sort of dull down all the bright red present. The striping is also slightly recolored. That's what I've got for the moment, I hope you guys are looking forward to this and I'd love to hear what you think.
  24. What throwbacks from the big four major sports(NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) that hasn't been seen before do you want to see in a game, a season, or for now on? Here's my first pick: The NFL's Tennessee Titans going with wearing the mid to late '60s Houston Oilers uniforms for a game would be cool to see, but that's me.
  25. Imgur Album Links: Saints Steelers Cowboys Chargers Rams Falcons Packers Jaguars Patriots Eagles With the NFL Playoffs starting today, I decided to mock up some ideas I had for a three NFL Teams: the Saints, Steelers, and Cowboys. I loved the color rush uniforms for both the Saints and Steelers; ideas from both are implemented in these concepts. For the Saints, the concept basically is their color rush; there is no reason they shouldn't adopt that look full time. I simplified their helmet logo a bit and brought back the Louisiana state outline logo as a chest patch. In addition to the white jerseys taken from the color rush set, the concept includes a black jersey with gold-white-gold-white-gold stripes as well as a gold jersey with b-w-b-w-b stripes. An alternate white helmet idea is also shown; it would only be used if the NFL were to lift the one helmet rule, obviously.
