  1. So the other day I notice TRoyConcepts San Jose Sharks modern set and saw that he used Mr. Wonka's template. and proceed to get said template and see what i could do. Also I've been curious to try this fairly new program for mac called Pixelmator. Which is where most of the design and stuff was completed in. I've had a Sharks Stadium Series concept since the game-event was announced last week. Looking through numerous concepts on here and on the web I didn't see anything like what I wanted, so I moved forward with it. Here it is: While last season Stadium Series games featured modern jersey sets with vibrant colors, unique patches and chromed crest logos that were, well…different. This season, I’m hoping is different and opted to combine a modern feel with and old-time look. Starting with the Sharks original jerseys used for the hem and sleeve stripes. The old Fin-in-circle shoulder patch. To complete the vintage look, I went with a cream colored sweater instead of white. The Jumping Shark logo and a not-quite-matte-black shoulder yoke for the modern feel. Straying from last year’s chrome-fest, I opted for a embroidered crest. The back of the sweater is not too much different with the numbers, just made them smaller. Used the current name plate. See below for more detailed images. C&C as always. Thanks checking these out
  2. Greetings everyone, This is my first post, so I apologize if I don't have all the bases covered. This is a concept for an NHL expansion/relocation to Seattle. I chose the name Lumberjacks for two reasons: 1) to pay tribute to the region's first major industry (logging) and 2) I wanted to stay away from the Metropolitans/Metros name, as I've already seen some great concepts for that nickname and wanted to try something different. I would love to add an alternate jersey to the mix at some point. Let me know what you think! Special Thanks: shop.nhl.com jersey template from Hockey Jersey Concepts: http://www.hockeyjerseyconcepts.com/p/templates.html Inspiration for presentation of concept: the_dragon (http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/99629-seattle-emeralds-nba-expansion-concept/) Artwork created using Adobe Illustrator Presentation image created using Adobe Photoshop
  3. Everybody has had a sport they never liked, or never bothered to care for. So I would be interested to hear what's your's. For me, it's Soccer and Hockey and NASCAR. I don't understand why people find wasting gas, tires, and turning left 90 times fun to watch.
  4. We all have thought about this at one time or another: Which uniforms from the past are better than those currently worn by a team? Whether it be from NIke-fying an entire league (see: NFL), forcing uniforms to fit a certain template (see: Reebok and the NHL), or just horrendous ownership decisions (see: Florida/Miami Marlins), there are just some poor decisions that need to be reversed. Some may be unpopular opinions (PhantomDreamer's obsession with weird pullover baseball jerseys) or completely popular opinions (wanting to completely get rid of the new Jacksonville Jaguars uniforms). Without further ado, my list as follows: 1. Vancouver Canucks 90s uniforms and color scheme vs. present uniforms and color scheme Perhaps my ultimate unpopular opinion next to my love of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks infamous "Wild Wing" jersey, I do not like the current Vancouver Canucks color scheme or their "Stick-in- rink" alternate jersey. I've heard both sides of the debate on the Orca logo, and I will admit bringing back the skate logo isn't the best idea. However, I like the color scheme of the Pavel Bure era uniforms as well as the jersey design from those days. The current uniform design is rather bland to me and the color scheme isn't that distinctive either. 2. Arizona Diamodbacks Purple an Teal vs. Red and Sand Pretty simple, I like the old Diamondbacks color scheme more than the old one. 3.Florida Marlins color scheme vs Miami Marlins color scheme I believe that the current Marlins logo would be solid without the rainbow of colors in it. In fact, the old Marlins logo is starting to look a bit outdated to me. I believe that if the Marlins brought back the teal and black and got rid of whatever multitude of colors they use now they'd have a pretty solid look. So what do you guys think? What uniform designs, logos, or color schemes are you clamoring to get back?
  5. Howdy Guys! I'm working on a new Primary logo for the grand rapids Griffins and I'm sort of stuck so I'm hoping to get past my block with the help of the community. So please comment and help me move this design forward! Version 1: For my first attempt at this logo I came up with this I was really happy with this untill I looked at it more and more. It looks cool and strong and powerful at first but the more and more I looked at it the less and less I though it looked like a Sports Logo and the more I thought it looked like a character from a TV show, just it looked more like a drawing than a Logo. Version 2: For version two I wanted to address the problem areas I had in the first attempt like the Feet and front legs and also make the lines bolder and thicker to give it more of a logo feel and came up with this While I do feel like this version looks more like a logo it lost a lot of the intensity that the first logo had and is just not as impressive all though it is much cleaner and simpler. I'm not saying I don't like this version I'm just not sure where to go from here. Let me know what you think I can do to move this bottom logo from okay/good to great/exceptional. BONUS: I also came up with these along the way. Maybe I can work it into a secondary or something
  6. So this is the first concept I've ever made. I've reworked this concept countless times and I've finally decided that this is the winner. Also used Mr. Wonka's fabulous template (thank you kind sir) so I hope it really pops.
  7. The mighty redux: Conceiving a new Anaheim hockey identityFrom the halcyon days of the Disney-born Mighty Ducks to the period of rule atop the league as black-and-orange-clad Stanley Cup champions, hockey fans in Anaheim have had the luxury of cheering for a team whose identities have consistently been unique and, well, awesome. Although the original Mighty Ducks identity was the butt end of many jokes during its run, its standing with fans remains favorable. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say a significant slice of the fan base would be happy to see it return. Several years after the team’s brand was toned down — and grown up — to become the Anaheim Ducks, the new look seems to have left people wondering what has continually driven the organization to move ever further away from its Disney roots. The latest update to the franchise look, however, has pushed the needle back in the other direction, if only slightly. The Mighty Ducks logo has been resurrected in the form of a shoulder patch, and the orange adornments from 2007 have spread and saturated more areas in an effort to co-opt the surrounding community’s culture. In other words, there’s lots to like, but realizing the full potential of this team’s identity will require revisiting some elements of its own past. MORE HERE: qckd.co/32
  8. Hello All, You may remember me from the short lived NBA MLB crossover (Which kind of died because of inactive posting). That was a while ago, and got busy with other things. This time I am back to stay (I hope). I've always been interested in the signatures, below one users post. I thought it would be a good idea to start a series like this because, I have a lot of time on my hands over the summer, and this would keep me occupied. So basically, each team I will do will have its team name, date of establishment, logo timeline, and two popular logos on each side. I understand that this will be hard to do with some times (New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies), but I am sure I will make a few "edits" to get around this. Firstly I will start with 4 American league teams. NOTE: I am not a professional at any level, so don't expect anything out of this world. Los Angeles Angels: Minnesota Twins: Seattle Mariners: Cleveland Indians: Thanks to Fonts by Conrad C&C always welcome!
  9. This is only my second concept and the first one I'm posting. I'd love to hear ways you think this design could improve. I always felt that despite having some exceptional logos, the Buffalo Sabers have always had lackluster unis. He's my concept for a new alternate jersey, because basically anything is better than their current one. I drew some inspiration from their vintage looking alternate from 2010-2011 and tried to combine in with a sleeker look from their buffa-slug days. I came up with the crest by combining a former shoulder patch, which I slightly re-colored and placed atop their traditional golden ring. Hope you dig it - Nick Empirical Designs
  10. I really liked their blue alternate jersey from a couple years ago, so I made this set based on it. Home: Away:
  11. I'm new to making concepts but this was an idea that I've been thinking about for quite a while. If all goes well, I'll try create similar jersey combinations for other NHL teams. After the concept, I provided a description as to how the jerseys utilize elements from different eras. Comments and questions are greatly appreciated. 12. I personally dislike the Minnesota Wild's red jersey, so I made it green here and I used the bear head instead of the roundel logo. Let me know what you think.
  13. This is to discuss teams that you think need a new venue.
  14. I searched the forums & didn't see anything like this. But as I was doing some research on my Heisman project, I was watching some old college football highlights. And it got me thinking how much I loved the 2007 season, so I thought about a thread like this. You can put your favorite season from any sport, or 1 year specifically. & please list your reasons. Here are mine: College Football / 2007: - Incredible upsets like Appalachian State over Michigan, Stanford over USC, Kentucky over South Carolina, Colorado over Oklahoma - Tebow going nuts all over the place - Mizzou had their best season of my lifetime, reaching #1 in the rankings, and beating #1 Kansas who was 11-0 in the last game of the season > Chase Daniel is a Heisman Finalist > they had 3 first-team All-Americans - All the amazing QuarterBacks like Tebow, Dennis Dixon, Graham Harrell, Colt McCoy, Chase Daniel, Colt Brennan, Matt Ryan, Pat White, Sam Bradford - Darren McFadden running over everyone & everything - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG5TIgTYUls&feature=kp << highlights - USC honors fallen teammate >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp0moLzrroI - The Greatest Bowl game of all time, the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma vs. Boise State > Highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQp6r0VehPM > This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaIOWZJqr10 - Virginia Tech winning the game after their school shooting >> NFL / 2007: - I couldn't really pick one I liked the best, but this is my favorite Super Bowl of all time. Because the Giants were huge underdogs, and I hate the Patriots. What a game. MLB / 2011: - The Cardinals were 11 games out of the playoffs, & they made it in on the last game of the season. That story line, that eventually became the Greatest World Series game of all time (IMO), and a World Series win makes it my favorite. > We'll see you tomorrow night (goosebumps) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go1raoqHZkU College Basketball / 2010: - single-handidly because of this shot. I hated Kansas, but I always root for the underdogs & this was incredible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDWYx3LVrPg NHL / 2014? - I'm pretty indifferent to the NHL, but I followed it a lot more this year, & I loved the playoffs
  15. I was making this for the HockeyJerseyConcepts.com (HJC) Open and I thought I would share it on here. I would love feedback.
  16. http://nypost.com/2014/07/04/wayne-gretzky-vying-for-nhl-team-in-seattle/ Wayne Gretzky has joined a group of investors hoping to bring a National Hockey League team to Seattle, The Post has learned. The Gretzky group is one of three looking to bring an NHL franchise to the home of Starbucks, sources said — but each faces an uphill battle in that league Commissioner Gary Bettman has not said the league is ready to expand. Things could get interesting...
  17. thought id share my pitch for the fantasy league over on icethetics, Hawaii honu (sea turtles). done a bit of tweaking since i posted it on dribble http://drbl.in/ljHW (mostly changes to curves and line weights), pretty happy with how it ended up. the turtles natural texture had a cracked magma feel to me, which i think ties in with the Hawaiian theme. I chose this particular colour scheme to emphasize that and go with something wasn't just your typical blue and green approach. The word mark i decided to keep simple and modern again shying away from the cliche tropical look. any last suggestions before i turn it in? I'm also looking for ideas for a secondary logo, so far volcano is at the top of my list but ideas would be great
  18. Hi All, As some of you may know, I have been working on an NHL redesign in another thread. I am halfway through that project (and facing a little bit of a creative block), so I figured I would take a short break from creating jersey concepts and work on something else. I have every intention of finishing my CCM project over the course of the next few weeks, so don't worry, more will be posted over there. I have had this idea lingering in my head for a while now and I finally got around to making it come to life. Personally, I am not a big fan of the logo the NHL decided to stick with for the ASG in Columbus for 2015. The lockout season was the perfect chance for them to scrap it and create another one, but they decided against it. So I am dedicating this thread to refining the main logo, wordmarks/secondary marks, as well as new uniforms. There will be three parts to this miniseries, 1. Main Mark, 2. Secondary and Wordmarks, and 3. Uniforms. To start everything off, here is the main mark. I will take everyone's C&C and edit it as I go before I move on to the next part (please excuse the graininess of the picture, it serves as a watermark). I took inspiration of the shape of the star and flag from a concept by Tyler Rodgers (dgnmrwrw on the boards), so credit to him for the general shape of the logo.
  19. I've never really been a fan of the Phoenix Arizona Coyotes, mostly due to their location. I never thought that hockey could work in the desert, and it appears as though my thoughts were correct. Anyways, there has been one thing I've always liked about the Coyotes - their logos. I thought their original logo was different, but in a good way. It was unique. When they changed their logo 11 years ago, I was sad to see the old one go, but I quickly began to like their new (now current) logo. With the team recently releasing their unused logos that were designed during the design process of their current logo, I decided to make a concept out of one of those logos. I decided to go with their original color scheme, I thought it would fit the logo better. C&C are very welcome!
  20. Is anyone else thinking of doing NHL.com's Bracket challenge? I was thinking it would be fun for the boards to all get together and create a group--see who's the best playoff predictor in the CCSLC. Thoughts? Would any be interested?
  21. My friends and I hold a yearly street hockey league (I am the owner) and we upload our games onto YouTube. I usually run all of the video and graphics myself but it can be a bit of a hassle for me. I was wondering if anyone would be interested to create some NHL motion graphics for us. If you can, I would need to be allowed to use them and I will give you full credit in the video. Our next game is TBL@BOS and we are the "Pittsburgh Street Hockey League" on YouTube.
  22. Hey Guys! As a Penguins fan, it was a shock to hear about new sweaters with the classic gold, so here is what we thought it could look like. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome! The away jerseys are the same as home but the black and white are swapped.
  23. I will give advice and also ask for advice but now how would I make this logo look better http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/ag336/Jordyshore23/imagejpg1_zps1defb81e.jpg
  24. Hey Guys! I know everyone is doing Seattle concepts and this our Take on it. We were thinking of the Metropolitans for the team name. We will add other fun seattle concepts on here later. Hope you like it! C&C Welcome!
  25. Alright, I said I'd get the NHL Edition up this weekend, and here it is (moderators, please merge Morgo's unofficial thread underneath this title. He's been flagged with a 5-yard penalty for false-start)! Just as before, I made a "chart" of what I think every single NHL team's best look is, that they've ever had, (with a few exceptions). I invite you guys to post your own complete league breakdown of your favorite looks for each team. After a few days, I will move on to Major League Baseball. As always, here are the rules: If the team has moved, you cannot use their prior location (I'm suspending this rule for the NHL-only because I know if I don't let everyone put the North Stars, Nordiques, or Whalers on here, they'll throw a fit). This is only for a team's best overall look. It's not organized by my "favorite player." In fact, I don't care what players are on here. In some cases you'll find a team's icon used as the photo because that would likely be the most abundant photo found on Google. If I put a team's white uniform up, and you prefer the darker version of the same era, that's fine. That's not something I'm going to change on here. The idea is simply to get the best uniform combo that any specific team has worn for at least one season. There are some teams that have, more or less, never changed their uniforms (i.e. Red Wings, Blackhawks, and Canadiens), and in that case, you can put any incarnation of their uniform that you want. One special rule for the NHL, when it comes to the Winnipeg Jets, you may use any incarnation of the team! People in Winnipeg think of the new Jets and the old Jets as connected, so for uniform purposes, we will do the same here! I think, overall, you'll find I prefer bright/vibrant colors, a traditional look, and uniforms that stand out. I'm not as worried about how they look if fans were to buy them as fashion accessories. Feel free to comment on my list, and make your own lists...AND PLEASE USE PHOTOS (each of mine is about 300x400 pixels)! When it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, I feel like they always have it really good, but never GREAT! Have they ever had a uniform where they had what Doug Gilmour is wearing above, but they had the font/numbers from the jerseys that had the "TM" on the shoulders?
