  1. With the Nordiques possibly coming back, I decided to do a jersey combining jerseys from their past. I made them with all 3 color schemes and here's how they turned out. Let me know which one looks the best. Option #1 Option #2 Option #3
  2. This is my second attempt at creating a Las Vegas expansion concept. Just after finishing my Aces concept, it was released that Las Vegas was applying for expansion with the name Black Knights. So I decided to redo my concepts with the new Las Vegas Black Knights. I kept the colour scheme pretty similar with a darker red. When I do make the jerseys, the grey may or may not be used, just to keep the amount of colours down. The knight is, of course, the primary while the sword Vegas star is the alternate. I did get most of the ideas for the alternate from another concept I saw online. I flipped the sword the other way and did a couple things different, but I liked the idea too much to do a different logo. I plan on making the uniforms soon, as I only had time to create the logos and some iPhone and computer wallpaper. Good C&C is appreciated I should say, I am not a very experienced concept creator, just a class in high school and general knowledge of logos along with my creativity, so please don't be too harsh with the comments Again, any help with putting the direct pictures up would be awesome.
  3. With the recent news of the Nordiques applying for expansion, I decided I would try my hand at what I hope the Nordiques would wear. Started with a logo update. Removed red for a silver/grey. Replaced the ball with a puck. Added some special stick tape. Thoughts? Do the colors work? Uniforms up next. Old: New:
  4. Hey Guys! Since Quebec is getting a NHL team again I have decided to make a concept. This logo is very similar to the shoulder patch that they previously wore. Once agin, a simplistic jersey that nods to the Nordiques past. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome
  5. For this concept I decided to create what a potential All Star Game would look like if hosted in the O.C. For this match up we see the third entry of the Ryan v.s. Ryan Series as Ryan Getzlaf (Black) and Bobby Ryan (Grey) captain the two All Star Teams. Props to Phil Beck for coming up with the idea of using grey and black as the two primary colors. The jerseys also feature striping patterns that mimic the striping of previous Ducks jerseys. The straight angled stripes to represent the Mighty Ducks era and the curved piping to emulate the teams current look. Let me know what you guys think. Also be sure to check out WORLD of JERSEY CONCEPTS on instagram. Their you'll find concepts created by myself and three other artists. We just started up and would love some feedback.
  6. Many nights in the past few years, I've wondered, "Why am I not a dedicated Hurricanes fan?" I proudly support every other pro team in North Carolina, why are the Hurricanes the exception? Then it occurred to me, the team doesn't try to engage with the fanbase and citizens of North and South Carolina like the Panthers and Hornets do. It almost seems like the are content to be the isolated franchise, which they are, geographically, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't try and live up to the namesake of the CAROLINA Hurricanes. So this concept is somewhat me displaying what a Carolina-wide marketing campaign could look like, while also modernizing the Hurricanes logos. PLEASE put any criticisms you may have, because over the past few months there have been a wave of short, hyperboled comments that don't really advance the designer or community as a whole. But I'll get off my soapbox, and get onto the concept:
  7. I created this Las Vegas NHL Expansion concept before I heard the news that Las Vegas is going for the name Black Knights. I had a better idea for Aces anyway. I got the idea for the primary logo from a different concept I saw, but I added the Vegas star into the spade. I'm more proud of the logos then the uniforms, so any C&C on it, especially the jerseys, would be appreciated. Thanks. Also, all the help I have received for posting the direct picture has not been too helpful. I'm working on a Macbook, and the site claims that the image extension isn't supported. If someone could help with that, that would be awesome.
  8. This is the second concept I've created. This time I moved to Hamilton for a potential spot for NHL expansion. The name I chose, the Steelcats, comes from Hamilton's hockey and city history. The 'steel' part comes from Hamilton being the Steel City and the 'cat' part comes from the former Hamilton Tigers. I wanted to incorporate both aspects to the city instead of just copying the former team name. It can work, I just wanted something different. The uniforms are all based off of the Hamilton Tigers uniforms. When choosing the colour scheme, I realized quickly that it would be a lot like Boston's colours. To solve that, I chose to have a black home uniform, instead of going with the yellow. I still think it works very well. If anyone says I should've chosen a different colour scheme because it looks too much like ___ (fill in the blank), it's hard to have a unique colour scheme that looks good and is very different than other teams. It's possible, but I liked the yellow, black, and grey colour scheme too much to change it. If you saw my previous concept (Seattle Totems), you'll realize that I really tried to have a more modern primary and alternate logo and I think it came out pretty good. Some good C&C is appreciated. And I emphasize good. Telling someone to restart is not helpful in any way. Thanks Also, I received instruction on how to post the image straight to the topic, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Any more help would be much appreciated. I use a Macbook to post my topics. Thanks
  9. What are your favorite color schemes? This doesn't necessarily mean how they integrate the schemes into the logos and/or uniforms, just the combinations of colors themselves. Here are a few of mine: NFL---Dolphins, Redskins, Packers, Broncos (1980s-1996) NBA---Hornets (original and current), Hornets (during their New Orleans time), Bucks (1980s "Irish Rainbow"), Nuggets (rainbow), Nuggets (current), Spurs (1990s "fiesta" color scheme; would've been great to see them do something with it on their uniforms), Mavericks (original), Suns (pre-2000s, loved when they had black to go with purple and orange) MLB---Phillies (one of the best red-white-and-blue combos, and if you consider cream part of it it's awesome), Giants/Orioles (black and orange look great in baseball), Diamondbacks (pre-2007), Padres (1970s-1980s, brown, yellow, and orange together), Royals, Athletics, Mariners NHL---Mighty Ducks (original), Islanders, Rangers, Wild, Blackhawks, Canucks (current), Flyers, Bruins (when they wore brown instead of black) College---Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Temple (pre-black), Tulsa, Tulane, Clemson, Arizona (when you include copper), Central Michigan, Indiana, Indiana State (before they made their shade of blue more generic), Bowling Green
  10. So I tried to design something a little different for the NHL. I tried to imitate a penguin's look into a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, so I want to see what you guys think about it. NOTE: I chose a dark grey for a couple of reasons. First of all, most penguins are actually grey, not black. Secondly, a grey white and gold set is something that would separate them from the Bruins. PLEASE DON'T HOLD BACK ON ANY COMMENTS, CRITICISMS, OR ANY SUGGESTIONS.
  11. Hey guys, so I deicded to post a concept 3rd jersey I made for the Anaheim Ducks a couple months back. I wanted to create a jersey that would both honor the history of the franchis and still fit the club's current aesthetics. I also wanted to add some features not often seen in current nhl uniforms (the double bent arms and angled sock stripes). Let me know what you guys think.
  12. Lately I've been working on some NHL redesigns. Like another very talented designer, Vitorio Arts (check out his work by the way), I prefer simple, yet classic and elegant uniform designs. All logos are from this site and I have Calgary in this post and should have Minnesota and possibly Colorado up tonight or tomorrow! C and C is much appreciated! Calgary Flames -removed black -simplified the striping -used 80s colours
  13. Hey everybody! I was trying to make a roundel logo for the St. Louis Blues without using their "wing note" logo. I kept the Gateway arch and added gold/yellow to it, I made 5 lines (representing sheet music and water) at the bottom to show that St. Louis is on the Mississippi River, and the words St. Louis Blues to it. I also included the color red to represent Missouri's flag (and because the Blues once used red). But the problem is that it needs something else. I'd like some advice on what to add or take out. A bit of advice on how to make the arch look more 3d would be great as well.
  14. This was my second go around at creating a Seattle Expansion team concept. My first attempt was very much based off of Seahawks colours and patterns but I changed it to be more based off of the former Seattle Totems hockey team.
  15. With the Avs getting 'New jerseys' at the draft, they missed a golden opportunity to replace the aprons they currently wear. Because of this, I decided to take advantage of the new logo they introduced and make a total makeover for the Avs. Here they are! I decided to keep the logos from the current era, as they're not that bad, but I added a recolored Rockies logo. The jerseys bring a modernized stance on the famous jerseys from the Stanley Cup eras, utilizing the Rocky Mountain imagery in a new way. The 3rd jersey is a way to connect with the previous 3rd jerseys of the organization, while bringing in a throwback-ish feel. Feedback is appreciated! Thanks! 16. It's been a while since I last put together a concept series, but I have recently have had some time now that I'm out of school to work on some concepts, and figured I would start a new series for the summer. Anyways, my goal for this series is to come up with a new, unique set of uniforms for each NHL team. When I say new, I mean one that has never been worn by the team to encourage myself to be more creative. I also want to get rid of the "standard" reebok template to allow each team to have their own identity and not look too similar to other teams around the league (a la Lightning and Leafs/Wings). As of 5/28, I have completed half of the league, and will start posting one or two concepts at a time per day. I'll start by posting the teams from the Pacific Division now, followed by the Metro! C&C is always appreciated, and more than welcomed! Enjoy Pacific Division Los Angeles Kings (update) Vancouver Canucks Calgary Flames (update) Anaheim Ducks San Jose Sharks Edmonton Oilers Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes Metropolitan Division Carolina Hurricanes (update) New York Rangers Columbus Blue Jackets Pittsburgh Penguins New Jersey Devils Washington Capitals Philadelphia Flyers (update) New York Islanders Central Division Chicago Blackhawks (update) Colorado Avalanche Dallas Stars Nashville Predators Minnesota Wild (update) Atlantic Division Florida Panthers Detroit Redwings Tampa Bay Lightning 1) Los Angeles Kings 2) Vancouver Canucks
  17. Hey Guys! Since there is a big possibility that there will be a NHL team in Las Vegas, I have decided to make a concept. So lets start the logo and color scheme. The logo is a Desert Bighorn Sheep, which is the Nevada state animal (Hence the name of the team). The colors are the state flag colors. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  18. This is my attempt at a concept for the Islanders. I was trying to modernize their old lighthouse logo, but I'm unsure what to add to it or how I should revise it. Maybe they could use this as a patch. I don't know where I want to go with this yet. Advice/C&C is very helpful. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for the C&C.
  19. I created these concepts for an NHL franchise in Seattle. It is loosely based off of the former Seattle Totems hockey team from the 60's and 70's. The alternate/vintage jersey and logo are recoloured to look like the old Seattle Totems hockey jerseys. If anybody knows how to put the actual image on the topic, I would love to know how to do that.
  20. So here I am again. I don't post very many concepts on here because I can only use .svg templates and they are hard to find but I found some I really like, huge shout out to the now not very active gingerbreadmann for the templates. Anyway, let's get to the actual uniforms: Here is the home: I really like the mountain striping so I tried to make a simpler form of that on the bottom. The CA logo font is Richardson Brand Accelerator and the NOB and numbers are Pointer Sans (a Conrad font, but aren't they all here?). Thanks for reading!
  21. Certain eras make good sports teams, and bad ones (ie: Edmonton Oilers), but wearing certain uniforms almost make a team better. Like the Avalanche in their Pre-edge jerseys, or the LA Kings in Black and white all time, just to name a few. What other ones have you found? Not like the championship game in white or dark colors, but the overall look... Like How the Devil Rays never did that well, but when they became the Rays, they were way better, or the Mighty Ducks only made the playoffs 4 times, but the Anaheim Ducks have only missed the playoffs twice since the switch.
  22. I decided to put my Canadian City Flag Soccer thread on hold for a few days, (it can be found right here), and I slightly modernized the Penguin's old logo. I smoothed out the lines, and made it look a little more fierce. Let me know what you think.
  23. Hi, everybody! It's been quite awhile since I posted something concept-wise. The last time I did so, the boards were going through a transition period of new mods being implemented and younger/inexperienced members running amok, causing chaos on the thread I posted. I became discouraged, thinking the CCSLC was doomed to fail. The quality of work around here has suffered and there are too many inexperienced members not properly taking C&C, or, taking the wrong C&C from the wrong people. But, I digress... Anyway, I've been working on a very simple hockey template that I could use for myself (the helmet, pants, and socks, I've taken from various places here in the templates section, so credit to the artist(s) that created those). The jersey was the part I hand drew and then uploaded to my computer and traced, so I would like come comments on that if you feel so inclined. I struggled with the proportions and ratios a bit, but I feel like I've found a comfortable median. The uniforms are designed to have thinner sleeves and more be more formfitting, as I initially wanted to create an entire series dedicated to coming up with a new manufacturer of jerseys (other than Reebok, CCM, Starter, Nike, etc., etc.) and redesign the NHL according to that. I may get to that at a later date, but for now, I'd just like some feedback on what I have. Calgary Flames Logo: The Flames have a very good logo currently. Very good, but not great. Besides being muddled with unnecessary black and having one too many outlines, it is a crisp and clean logo that is very recognizable. I took the liberty of cleaning up the logo some, giving it a better sense of speed and direction, while still maintaining it's original form. The flames on the 'C' always bugged me because in the middle there are two flames that come together in opposite directions forming an awkward area of background amidst the foreground that is the logo. The 'C' itself has always looked weird to me too. The negative space on the inside looks like a kidney bean; it just doesn't flow well enough. I've also designed an alternate logo (yes a roundel!), using the Flames' current alternate as inspiration. If you click the links below, you can see larger images of the logos I've designed for the Calgary Flames. Primary (white background) || Primary (red background) || Alternate Uniforms: As we all know and can (hopefully) agree on, the Calgary Flames have some of the worst uniforms in the NHL. I, for one, love the color scheme of red, yellow, and white. The addition of black, in my opinion, isn't necessary. I've actually tried many times and in many different ways to implement it in this concept to prove myself wrong, but I can't. What really strikes a nerve with me is that the flames use a black 'C' on their primary uniforms, it's really unappealing. So, I thought to just eliminate the black completely and go back to the red, yellow, white color scheme that the club started with. I did darken the colors a bit (I remember the Blues playing the Flames a couple years ago in their throwback jerseys and I thought that the shades of red and yellow were far too bright). The jerseys are really a combination of the first couple of eras: the colors of the first and the differentiated stripe widths of the second. The second era of Flames uniforms (1995-2000) were actually pretty good, sans that ridiculous diagonal stripe. The black was tolerable there, but, to me, not needed. I came up with a concept that combines and modernizes the inaugural and '95 look, getting rid of some unnecessary components. As I've stated with the explanation of the logo, I wanted the concept to evoke the idea of speed, so I kept the idea of the italicized numbers, changing the font to a more modern one. The alternate is pretty straightforward when I tell you that I love it when teams use one color and white in their identity (i.e. Maple Leafs, Red Wings, Jets [NFL], Colts [NFL], etc.). Thanks to those that took the time to read everything and hopefully I won't run into any problems with immature members like I did last time. So without further ado, here's the concept! Tell me what ya think! (Click to enlarge)
  24. Hello and Happy New Year, now that it is 2014 and all the Stadium Series jerseys have been unveiled, I figured that now would be a decent time to get a new Topic ready for next season.
  25. To be able to work better and more freely my creativity, I decided to start this series of crossovers of NHL teams to football. I always enjoyed the visual identity of the NHL teams, and will do soccer jerseys, Home, Away and Third for each of them. The presentation that I will use is down here. This will be the template pattern for posting. Changes in the frame to fit alloy, and little change in the shirt template I usually use, the main one being the shift from "Victoria" to "Icestorm" shirt in the bar. The sleeve has the patch of the league, that just as the MLS, will change color depending on the team, and the font used on all shirts will be used by teams in real life. Well, I start with the series soon, and I hope you enjoy.
