  1. Hey guys! I saw some Grateful Dead logos recently and I thought that they were easy to plop a roundel logo in the skull and some colors on the sides so I thought I could make a quick concept with them. They are just pictures, not signatures or wallpapers, but I thought a good kick of nostalgia for the older folks might do some good. If you know of a team with a roundel logo or any round logo, just put a comment down below! I can get the approximate colors for every team in the NHL, NBA, NFL,MLS, EPL and MLB. I will try my best to find the right colors for foreign teams. If you would like to request some designs made for you, feel free to comment in this format: Team Name Preferred Logo Any other requirements (Certain colors, throwbacks, etc.) This is definitely not an only-requests post. I would LOVE any constructive criticism in the comments and will take any suggestions into consideration. Please cut me some slack if they're not Hi-def 9000p, I'm just using Microsoft 1997 with Microsoft Paint. I don't have the money or the material to make my first-time concepts like a professional graphics designer would. (but I sure wish I could!) I cannot guarantee when your request will be done, because I don't know how many requests I will get. The Grateful Dead designs that you see above you were invented by me. I have seen designs like this before, so I'm not saying I'm original or anything. 2. I guess it's that time again -- looking forward to the uniform and logo changes in the NBA for the upcoming 2016-17 season ... THE LAST YEAR OF ADIDAS! As has been twirling around Twitter, UniWatch and the mothership (thanks to Conrad) ... the "rumored" or "semi-confirmed" changes for 16-17 include Sacramento, Utah and Detroit. Not sure if this graphic confirms a change in the Celtics' primary logo? But, I'll post it here for speculation ...
  3. This is the National Zoneball League. Zoneball is a very simple game. It is a mixture of Rugby, Soccer, American Football and Australian Rules Football to a certain extent. The game is played in 45 minute halves, then the teams switch sides. There is only one objective to this game and that is to get the ball through the goal posts. There are no fouls. Literally anything goes. The only time there is a stoppage of play is when the ball goes out of bounds. Why Zoneball? There are 8 zones on each side of the field. Each one being worth a different point amount. The front middle zones are worth 2 points, the front end zones are worth 3 points. The back middle zones are worth 5 points and the back end zones are worth 7 points. If you kick it or throw it threw the goal posts from that zone then your team gets that many points. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. The neutral zone at mid field is where the two teams battle for the ball. Since you can not score unless you advance the ball past the neutral zone to the opposing zones, the battle in the neutral zone is an integral part of the game. Once again to reiterate, You can only score once you're team is in the opposing zones, the only stoppage of play is when the ball goes out of bounds, giving the other team a throw in. Each point value is determined by where you score, it doesn't matter how you score, just where you score from. There are no fouls. Anything goes. So far, The National Zoneball league is comprised of 4 associations: United States Association, United Kingdom Association, Canadian Association and Oceanian Association. Each Association has its own season, playoffs and champion. The champion of each association will then join together in a 4 team bracket to determine who is the true champion of the game. 4. Just finished an 8 team fantasy hockey league using head to head scoring and wanted to share some of the work that I did to bring realism to fantasy sports. All of the work done was with photoshop. I think it turned out nicely. I will use this to promote an expansion to 10 teams instead of 8. Click here to view the slideshow of the Hardware that was won this season. The name of the league is "Ice Breakers FHL"

  8. Here is a logo concept for the Montana Grizzlies. A bear is another mascot that every designer should try to draw up. I took inspiration from their current bear's face and smoothed it out some. Rendered it in their current Maroon/Silver and the vintage Gold/Copper.
  9. Every self-respecting sports logo artist should have a wildcat in their stock folder (also, bulldog, eagle, tiger, etc). Its a very common mascot and therefore difficult to create in a unique way. This concept is basically a Northwestern Wildcat. but the design would meld easily into any wildcat brand. The only feature that I'm unsure of is which "light area" color works best (white, light purple, lighter purple). White Light Purple Lighter Purple White with Light Purple Border I kinda feel like the white is too harsh and the light purple blends too much, so I'm leaning towards the lighter purple.
  10. AMERICAN FLASHBALL ASSOCIATION Back in January I started the AFA, and i didn't have the time to finish the league. Well, I am bringing the league back to life and want to make an interactive league with you guys. There will be 15 team spots available to join, I will own one team as well. Whoever joins will create their team unis and logos but there will be no rosters, just team sim, in which I will control all simulations. The rules top the league will be posted below! I hope you guys want to Join! RULES: League Logos: Post on here, or PM me if you are interested in joining! Future Conference: 1. Texas Stars 2. Sacramento Stags 3. Thunder Mountain Warriors 4. San Antonio Defenders Athletic Conference: 1. Colorado 303 2. Florida Flamingos 3. Maryland Oaks 4. 11. Here is my new concept idea for the Nordiques... Maybe its more of a AHL looking logo rather then a NHL logo but I think its a fun idea that would represent the Nords return to any league. The igloo is the primary and the polar bear is the shoulder patch logo. Comments and critiques are welcomed!
  12. Once again; this would not end up being used by the school. They have tooooo much invested in Herbie looking guys. But I tried to think of some mascots that fit the name, region, and aren't human. Because let's face it, it won't be long until all human mascots will offend someone. My 2 options here are: Raccoon- They are always raiding the corn fields, cribs, and silos. They are from the animal family Musteloidea so they fit in the BIG10. They have peopleish hands so to get to the corn they actually husk it. They are un-used in D1. Drawback- many farmers hate them. Scarecrow- They are associated with fields/corn fields. Human-ish so it's not as far of a move from Herbie. They are un-used in D1. They are often stuffed with corn husks. Drawback- seem to be either too creepy or too friendly. Here are the looks: Raccoon: Not sure about the eyes A B Scarecrow: Let me know what you think. If you think they should just have a Herbie, then explain why in a way that is not "because that's what they've always had".
  13. Here is a small introduction, you can skip and go right to the uniforms if you'd like, but it all started when I was pretty young. I bet right around 10 years ago I created a fictional university based out of Grand Rapids, MI that I would create paper ice rinks and paper players and play games with it. As the years passed, the idea grew more and more becoming an entirely fictional-based college sports world called the NACA (National Association of Collegiate Athletics). I will not bore you with the specifics of that, but it's basically a 200 team world. When NCAA Football 2011 came out with TeamBuilder, everything changed. My fictional university which was just based on notebooks, now became something I could design and play games with. Southern Michigan University (known as the Knights) and the Great Lakes Conference became a reality. My 13 year-old self went online to find a logo (which I cannot identify and am no longer able to find it online, good thing I have it saved) and came up with this primary mark. This whole thing has evolved into probably over 100 files of different information from year by year results, to all-time draft picks. As I've gotten older I created a few secondary logos which I use throughout most teams. Here is a few quick notes before I show off the uniforms; Nike took over as the official athletic apparel provider for SMU in 2014, Nike began incorporating Battle Scars design into most of the teams uniforms this past season (you'll see it throughout all the major teams). Without further ado, here is what my life rotates around! Basketball Football Due to space concerns, I'll just show you the uniform schedule for this season. You can find 2015 here (http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/drewstone7/media/Screen Shot 2016-11-14 at 9.11.12 PM_zpszqkymrp2.png.html?sort=3&o=2) 2014 (http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/drewstone7/media/Screen Shot 2016-11-14 at 9.11.29 PM_zpsy4qjgtdo.png.html?sort=3&o=1) It's fun to see how your skills progress from year to year. My personal favorite is the 1985 throwback we wore twice last season. Baseball Hockey
  14. Indiana has had a bulldog, bison, and an ox as a mascot identity. Rather than fall in with one of the most populous mascots I chose to go with the ox (I've done a lot of bison work too) .
  15. Let me start by saying that this is NOT intended to replace the grinning Goldy. Also, I KNOW that the school would not replace the current Goldy with this one. After I did the Michigan Wolverine and Wisconsin Badger I thought I'd try to give a similar feel to the Minnesota Gophers. I used the 13 striped ground squirrel for reference; no it's not a gopher but judging by Goldy's tail it's what he is based off of and many people call the ground squirrel a gopher. I think it turned out to have a good balance of cute and fight. Comment with your thoughts.
  16. Before I'm away for the weekend, I thought I'd leave you with this new design and a few thoughts. I was recently inspired to draw-up a falcon image and while working it out I chose to think metacognitively about my process. What follows are a list of some of the thoughts that were........thunk. 1. Lets see what a falcon looks like Search for falcon images 2. Falcons have big eyes and a small beak compared to eagles and hawks, that's a distiguishing feature Draw out the shape of a basic falcon head 3. An angled pose would be most dynamic Search falcon in stoop or stooping falcon stooping is a funny word Add more slant to composition 4. They almost have an innocent look to them 5. Try to keep some of the innocent look 6. I wanna keep that ring around the eye, that's a distiguishing feature 7. Since the eye doesn't have much anger, what makes them scary? They are FAST..... lightning shapes They have a black colored eye... no yellow in the eye itself like hawks and eagles, that's a distiguishing feature Search falcon screeching 8. Erase closed beak, draw in open mouth 9. Keep dark portion of beak, that's a distiguishing feature 10. Work in the dark shape in the feather colors on the face 11. Huh, that doesn't look half bad References used:
  17. Sports has been a part of my life since the beginning. One of my biggest interests in design is sports identities. When I was young I was often drawing a team logo, colouring in a jersey or creating my own versions. In mid–2016 I took on a 70 day challenge for a project I was doing in school. I knew this would be tough to handle so I decided the make it more suitable to my interest. The goal of this challenge was to redesign an existing sports logo every day for 70 days. Each logo redesign involved preliminary research about the team/city, sketching out all my ideas on paper, executing a digital version through Illustrator. I ended up creating a booklet with small rationales for my thinking, design choices and overall thoughts on the project. Sportslogos.net was a place I went to every day to discover new teams to redesign.
  18. We have players in the wrong uniform -- and teams in the wrong stadium. So, why not a teams in the wrong uniform thread? I'll start off with a few obvious ones ... (pretty much any Turn Ahead The Clock Jersey to be honest) What would you add to this list?
  19. I am trying to create a solid brand for my High School, Catalina Foothills to propose to the AD. I have emailed him, and he told me in person that it is on his radar for sure. So far I have gotten a basic idea which was hand drawn, and then I digitalized what would be the secondary mark which is the CF monogram. Down the line I hope to create a solid Falcon logo, as pur current one is very outdated! Colors: Royal, Silver, White, Black (sometimes). The black in the case looks much better for right now. (I may go a different route with the "font style" but for now this is it. Current Logo:
  20. Insomnia Sports Logo Design Hello everyone! Derrick here from DaseDesigns.com back with another Sports Logo ! This was a recent logo design project for an eSports team that wanted a much needed update to their previous mascot! They felt their logo was far too rough, unattractive and unclear and needed a more professional approach. They were needing something more clean, concise and simple while still closely relating to their previous owl mascot. This was the Goal for our project and here is the Solution! We hope you all enjoy.. If you'd like to see more, check us out on Social Media: Facebook Mock-Up Templates provided by: Yellow Images
  21. Hey Guys! I wanted to get feedback from you guys about the logo I did for my High School Alma Mater. The Original Logo used is actually the "S" from the White Sox Logo, so I thought the school could use a refresh. C&C is appreciated:
  22. Heyo, I've recently started to try to create concepts for sports with ms Paint. But I've having some trouble with finding the correct fonts and logos. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for finding those? but I also wanted to create this thread for any user to share some of their tips for creating good concepts. Because at least for me, starting out is pretty hard. thanks, please share your tips and trix if you like
  23. I was planning to post these for a while, but I wasn't sure where to put this topic, so I waited for similar ones to pop up before I posted this. I've been making wallpapers in Powerpoint, and figured I'd show them off. I might take requests, we'll see.
  24. I can't think of a name for this concept, I don't even remember the animal I was trying to portray so go wild with your suggestions
  25. So this offseason, my High School football team (Varsity) decided on getting special jerseys for this season for the final home games. Since they know I am into design and such they asked me to more or less create a whole bunch of options for us to choose from. Well we just got them this week and I have to say, I really love how they look and so does the team, glad I could design them. What do you guys think? P.S: We use silver helmets with blue chrome wings and grey pants.
