  1. Over the last couple months, I have played around with creating silhouette wallpapers, mostly for me. One of them was a birthday gift for a family member, but they were mostly just for me. I create them by taking a photo, and tracing the outline, creating a silhouette. I started with just minor details, but for some of them, I went a little far with the detail. I've added quotes to some of them as well, just for the sake of making a cool wallpaper I would use. I decided to share them to see what people think of them. This was the birthday gift for a family member. I took out the name for the sake of privacy. This is the first wallpaper I created. My favourite NHL player as well. I chose this quote from Russell Wilson because I'm a Christian. Like I said before, I created it for my use. This is the captain from my local Junior A hockey team, the Steinbach Pistons. This is also from the Steinbach Pistons. The silhouette is the head coach, Paul Dyck, who is from my hometown. He was drafted into the NHL as well. The motto is what is in their dressing room. This is pretty self explanatory. And the last of these, is one I created for a radio and tv show in Toronto, Leafs Lunch. I made this purely for the sake of experimenting with silhouettes of non-athletes. If people like these, I MIGHT take requests, but I probably won't get to them too quickly. I don't do this for a job, it's just something I do in my spare time. Any C&C is appreciated.
  2. Here's something I've been working on recently. After seeing that so many high schools and even some colleges use the same few cartoon bulldog images as their logos again and again, I decided to take a crack at it and create my own version. Of course there are some colleges with original and solid bulldogs, but overall I wanted to stray away from that cartoon Looney Toons bulldog look that is everywhere and make something original. I kept the cliche spiky collar because apparently a bulldog isn't a bulldog without one. The full project can be seen on behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/36390445/Bulldogs-Logo NOTE: All logos in this thread may not be used without prior consent of Greg Hahn.

  5. So I just entered the Staten Island team name contest with a great moniker; Staten Island Yolo swiggerzz. What other monikers in sports are aful but might get a consideration one day?
  6. As we approach the final month of regular season games I decided to come up with some uniform adjustments for college lacrosse teams. I will start by designing the ACC and move on to probably the Big Ten from there. Starting off I have Syracuse and Notre Dame. For Syracuse I wanted to give an old school feel, bring back the glory days, but I didn't want to go over the top with a throwback uniform. I combined elements from the uniforms they wore back when the Gaits were at the school, and also from the 2008, 2009 championship teams. With Notre Dame i went very new and crazy. The shamrock has a celtic design, which is also featured on the blue helmet. the gold helmet has a bright green chrome facemask. Also kept a similar striping to what they already have now.
  7. Here is an example of a goalie mask that could be used as an avatar for your fantasy hockey team. I used it for my Cincinnati Swarm fantasy team this season. It is done in photoshop only. You will find the template at deviantart. click here I have used templates of others but this is my first attempt at creating my own. Any CC is welcome
  8. Hey all, I got this idea a while back for a new sport to play (well, modified from an existing sport at least) and I thought it could be fun (plus good design -practice) to take it and build a league concept around it, so here we go! The sport is called Reflex. It is a modified form of Tchoukball (click the link to see a highlight reel), where teams score points by throwing a ball against a rebound net and having it hit the ground before the defense can catch it. The sport has elements primarily of ultimate and handball. Games are played on a hardwood court with walls around it the size of a standard hockey rink. Some major rules are: * 6 Players on the court for each team. * Player with the ball cannot take more than two steps. * Player with the ball cannot hold onto it more than 5 seconds. * Either team can score off either rebound net when ball is in their possession, but must complete a minimum of three passes before a shot is attempted. * If the offense drops the ball, steps in or has the ball land in the red zone, commits a penalty, or allows the defense to intercept the ball in they lose possession. * If the defense catches the ball off the rebound net, no points are awarded to the offense and the defense gains possession. * Contact is not allowed, and the defense cannot enter the forbidden zone. Major defensive penalties result in a penalty shot for the offense. Minor penalties result in a player spending 1 minute in the penalty box. * Hockey-style substitutions. Scoring: * 1 Point - Ball rebounds off net and hits ground in 1-Point Zone * 2 Points - Ball rebounds off net and hits ground in 2-Point Zone * 3 Points - Ball rebounds off net and hits ground beyond the 2-Point Zone * Reflex - After the offensive player bounces the ball off the rebound net, a teammate catches the ball and immediately throws it off the rebound net again, after which is hits the ground in one of the scoring areas. Worth 3 Points + Points corresponding to where the ball hits the ground (so if 2nd throw bounces and lands in the 2-point zone its worth a total of 5 points). Team locations (will be a 20 team league), names and logos will be unveiled in the coming days, but here is a diagram of the playing surface for the United Reflex League. A larger version of the league logo will be posted next. C&C is appreciated, enjoy! These teams are posted so far (in order of post date): Austin, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Omaha, Grand Rapids, New Orleans, Albuquerque, San Jose, Columbus, Orlando, San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Charlotte, Oklahoma, Utah, Hartford, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland I'm also going to add secondary logos and uniforms to the posts linked to above as they are made for easy locating, in addition to their own dedicated posts.
  9. This is wallpapers for sports teams. Note: The swoosh is Nike's logo. I am starting with the American league. Enjoy!
  10. Note from the OP: We haven't had good baseball concepts in a while on here (no offense anyone) and it's that time of year again to start up. So I thought I would lead off and start a brand new series. I have progressed majorly since my last baseball concepts. Links below. I got new templates, better tools, more experience, and better feedback. Not just 30 ppd noobs who joined a week ago. Sometimes even veteran posters comment on my work, and I am very grateful. So um...thanks for all that. Onto the concept. This is going to be a redesign of every team in the CWS last summer by region. I am starting off with the Coral Gables, Florida Regional (No, I did not choose that one so I can actually share an ECU concept I made, there are lots of them, it was completely random-ish, I picked an adidas team to showcase my new template on), and the 1 seed and host team Miami Hurricanes. Yes, every team will have adidas as their manufacturer. Here'sthe Canes of Miami! Next we head to Greenville, NC to take on the currently #19 (shameless plug), and 2 seed East Carolina Pirates!
  11. Thought I'd share some of my logo & design work from the past & present. Got about 15-20 so will post 5 at a time. Feel free to leave C&C. As always thanks for stopping by!
  12. Good day everyone, Ive wanted to post on this website for a long time. Im not the best at creating concepts (logos or jersey's) so I thought I would go a different route. I will be doing custom Avatars and Backgrounds (wallpapers) upon request. I have 2 test images below. The first being my favourite Soccer teams AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspurs with my favourite players Daniele De Rossi and Harry Kane. That one is an Avatar or Profile Picture. Next, is my girlfriend and my younger brothers favourite Hockey teams, the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks, with their favourite players Jeff Carter and Patrick Kane. This is a Background and Wallpaper. So to get a custom one comment what teams and players you want. It can be any sport, team or player. It can be one team image and 3 players, it can be 4 players, it can be 4 teams, it can be half and half or whatever your little heart desires! if you want specific images please leave them in your comment! I hope you enjoy and Thank you!

  14. It's been a while since I posted any new concepts here, but I recently got the idea to redesign a logo for one of the universities in my home state of Wisconsin. Other than the Badgers, UW Stevens Point, and UW Platteville, there are plenty of schools in the UW system that could use an update. I decided to go with the UW-Oshkosh Titans, because I feel their logo with a titan helmet and lightning would make a great identity if executed better. The details that make up their current logo, which I think they've had since around 2004, have always been confusing to me (Is it just me or does that lightning bolt look more like the mane of an animal?) My goal was to mainly focus on the energy within the lightning and redistribute it through the whole helmet area. I've recreated the logo focusing on the following changes: 1) The lightning bolt now also fills in for the plume above the helmet. 2) Gold, which isn't on most of their teams' jerseys anyway, has been eliminated to simplify the colors, 3) The S in TITANS seems jarring to me since it sharply angles away from the bottom arch, so I changed the lettering. The only thing I'm not sure about in my redesign concept is if the UWO/lightning bolt on the very bottom below fits with the overall identity or not.
  15. It's been a long long time since I've done this, but I've really been itching to get back at this stuff! I'll just get right into it with the rules: Rules: In my series, I'll be tweaking every MLB team, going alphabetically in the AL first, then the NL. The rules for each MLB team consist of the following: 1) 3 Caps 2) 1 pair of socks 3) 3 Pants 4) 1 Belt 5) 1 Long-sleeved undershirt 6) 3 Short-sleeved undershirts 7) 6 Non-buttoned "game vests" (3 for home, 3 for road) 8) 3 Logos Home uniforms feature white, off-white, or gray game vests. Road uniforms have colored game vests. Pants can be also be colored. Teams: 1) Baltimore Orioles Baltimore Orioles Background Image Credit: pxleyes.com / ("http://www.pxleyes.com/images/contests/city-bw/fullsize/Camden-Yards-4e41903f0f411_hires.jpg") For the Orioles, I kept everything a hopefully balanced mix of modern and retro. I also wanted the two main colors to have about a 55% orange and 45% black color balance. The primary logo features the current bird perched upon the "Orioles" script. The secondary logo has the "O's" logo inside the classic roundel. The tertiary logo is a slightly tweaked version of the retro oriole head logo. Too lazy to describe the 6 uniforms. Just check em out and provide C&C if you want
  16. Hello! Here's my redesign of the Los Angeles Clippers Organization. Feel free to critique.
  17. My alma-matter, graduating class of 2014. I'm particularly a Mason basketball fan; my freshmen year witnessed the Men's basketball Cinderella-story trip to the Final Four, in 2006. Unforgettable. The current look, adopted in 2004, is passable for now, but as an ever-growing university presence in America, Mason Nation is certainly due for a refreshed athletic aesthetic. See the link to a PDF below for a full presentation of the rebrand and its elements: http://issuu.com/ianbakar/docs/2015gmu_rebrandproposal_ianbakar On Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/32127179/Mason-Patriots-%28GMU%29-University-Athletics-Rebrand
  18. The current ‘Wolves branding is a slight fixer-upper of a logo that was originally introduced in 1996. As of late, their aesthetic has gone from a nice mix of green and blue, to looking more and more like the Orlando Magic (especially with their two primarily used wolf-head and howling wolf logos) and in their uniforms, utilizing only black, blue and silver. The current trees look like legos, and the yellow in the eyes are garish. The NBA has an overabundance of blue, and unique color schemes are few and far between. With such a unique name, that suits the area so well, the Wolves owe it to themselves to have a stand-out and cohesive brand. With a young, fresh, unique and star-studded line up including the likes of Karl Anthony-Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Ricky Rubio and Zach LaVine, the Wolves need a brand that reflects this new energy. A full-view PDF presentation with process, uniforms, court, apparel and more below. Short preview images below the link: http://issuu.com/ianbakar/docs/ianbakar_timberwolves_rebrand2015/1 I realize the color settings turned out a little muted in the PDF. It's never done that to me. Still trying to figure that out.
  19. Hey guys! So for those of you who caught the debut of the Ordinarie O© NHL fitted project, this is an extensions of that very project. Through out the season, I'll be creating special edition fitted caps for teams and players as they hit certain milestones within the season. Now I'll be honest... I won't be able to keep up with every single team and each of their players, but I'll highlight what I can catch wind of to create these fitteds in a timely manner. Well anyways, here's the first batch of Special Edition Aesthetic O'Caps making their debut: 1. Philadelphia Flyers / Michal Neuvirth for his back to back shutouts against the Panthers & Blackhawks to equal 61 saves total. 2. Minnesota Wild / Zach Parise for his hat trick against the Colorado Avalanche. 3. Tampa Bay Lightning / Steven Stamkos for hitting his 500th career point. 4. Chicago Blackhawks / The hawks for their 2014/2015 season Championship. Be sure to catch all of the Special Edition Aesthetic O'Caps and more custom fitteds on Tumblr & Instagram. And just so y'all know, not everything will be posted here in the forums. I'll only be posting in the forums every once in a while to showcase some new fitteds and to keep promoting the project. So make sure you follow those two social platforms if you have them. Enjoy guys!
  20. Hi all. This is going to be me delving into many sports that I am unfamiliar with. My team is called the Eagles. The logo was created by me a while back in paint. Here's an AFL jumper
  21. MLS REDO BY NIKE Summary of Myself Hey ladies and gentlemen, you might know me in the boards as a soccer (football) enthusiasts. Before I joined I use to watch the boards for over a year, to sum it all up I’ve been designing since I was six, but all was on paper. And when I decided to learn programs like GIMP I got more and more into these programs leading me to start a post were I would take soccer teams and imagine their jerseys as basketball ones. It got a good amount of publicity which I want to thank all who gave feedback. (Please Read This Section) I’m a very big amateur compared to others on these boards when it comes to such programs and even design as a whole, so I get limited fairly easily when it comes to my thoughts, unfortunately. I’ve been off and on the forums for a while now, because of the loads of school work and some problems with wifi. Currently I have many ideas in my head of some topics, such as redoing my whole high school’s sports teams and logos. Also as a kid I had this fictional sport in between futsal and soccer (football) with fictional teams and players and jerseys etc. which I kept going for about three years, which I want to now revive, but with a lot of things on my hands I decided to do something more simple…redoing the MLS. What this is about I don’t want to waste any more of your time, so to put simply, this is a redesign of the current MLS teams. I wanted to do other leagues but I know MLS is a bigger fuss on these boards since most of you are from North America. All I am doing is redoing the MLS jerseys and that’s all. The only twist is Nike is taking over. Adidas has been holding the MLS for quite a while now, and so what if Nike takes over. With this I will also release third/alternate kits because the league is expanding rapidly. These will still be designs from my own head, and also templates from my own head. I’m not trying to recreate how Nike would design MLS’ jerseys, since I find their jobs boring most times. All I’m doing here is replacing Adidas with Nike for some freedom through my work. Thanks and as always I appreciate a lot of feedback and reception, besides it is what drives me to keep doing these. Scheduling Some of you might know from my last topic I'm slower than usual, since I like to take my time and not pressure myself to a point where I will get bored of what I'm doing. Unlike other topics I don't finish the whole series before I post it because that would literally take me over three months to make. Instead I like to do it while I get feedback, this is because my ideas and designs don't come quickly, and because I'm using computer programs rather than sketching. Teams (In Order): Eastern Conference Chicago Fire (Home, Away, Third) Columbus Crew SC D.C. United Montreal Impact New England Revolution New York City FC Orlando City SC Philadelphia Union Toronto FC Western Conference Colorado Rapids FC Dallas Houston Dynamo LA Galaxy Portland Timbers Real Salt Lake San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders FC Sporting Kansas City Vancouver Whitecaps FC So instead of leaving you hanging, which is always a bad thing to do, I’ll present to you the banners that “supposedly” got released to announce Nike is taking over MLS kits and gear. Sorry for the choppiness I would love some feedback on it tell me which you think is better… oh and I will try to release Fire’s home in a few days. Thank you for your time!
  22. So the cartoon head has died down (not like it was popular ) but, anyway, I'm back, and I promise this time NO requests will get left out. 100%. Anyway, I'm back and I have 2-tone gradient sigs this time. I hope you like them. Anyway, starting off with the MLB; the AL East! Baltimore Boston New York Tampa Bay Toronto P.S.: I'm going to the beach so don't expect any new sigs in a week or so but I'm making a mental to-do list.
  23. Being a sports logo website, I'm sure we all have our favorite teams, and the teams that aren't necessarily faves but close to home. So we collect things from small-town teams to abide our anger. Post your collections here. I'll start it off sweet but with a big hit. Behold, the official 2015 Midsummer Classic program!!!!!
  24. As some of you may know, I'm a photographer, specializing in sports. My New Year's resolution was to stretch myself and branch out. I had previously only shot hockey, baseball, and field lacrosse, so this year I started shooting new things. Problem is, I've run out of mainstream sports. I've shot: (Links below) 1. Hockey 2. Baseball 3. Basketball 4. Football 5. Field lacrosse 6. Skateboarding 7. Volleyball 8. Soccer Does anyone have a suggestion for where I should go next? One of my friends suggested cricket, but I'd also like the boards' ideas. EDIT: Forgot to add soccer. Link added above.
  25. I decided to put my Canadian City Flag Soccer thread on hold for a few days, (it can be found right here), and I slightly modernized the Penguin's old logo. I smoothed out the lines, and made it look a little more fierce. Let me know what you think.
