  1. NBA Reverse Retro Series Why hello everyone! It has been years since I've been on the boards, but it's great to be back! With my first topic back, I wanted to tackle a project I worked on for fun late last year. The NBA Reverse Retro Series. After the NHL put out their Reverse Retro series of uniforms, I wondered what it might look like if the NBA did a similar thing. Now it is way harder to bring back a classic look for some teams because they never really left their classic look. The rules I set for this project were simple. Bring back a classic uniform from sometime in each team's history, but altered to fit their current colour scheme. Just like the NHL, team's could go back in their history, even wearing a jersey from a different city. Similar to what the Avalanche did with the Nordiques uniform. To start, this is the teaser, with each team represented and the year which the uniform is based on. I found all the logos and examples of the original uniforms from right on this site, I will add, I won't be making any changes at this point, I finished this project about a month ago, but I wanted to share it here and see what people think of this idea. C&C is appreciated!
  2. I used a template for the base of the court from here: i would have made the border lines yellow but how the template was made didn’t allow me to do so. So basically all I did was take the old Sonics logo and repainted it and removed the red and kept it two colors (excluding the white line) I also put the two S logos one on each side two symbolize the word super and sonic. And clearly I also added the space needle in the middle which I wanted to make it wood stain but it just didn’t work out with how much colored paint was used on the court so I made it a solid green. I tried making it both modern and old school with the old logo and the latest circle logos combined and also making the middle design abnormally big and removing any gradient for solid colors. (I would feel bad for anyone sitting on the opposite side of the court tho) tldr: combined the “present” and past. Past: old logo, enlarged design, excessive paint Modern: “present” Sonics logo, solid colors, keeping it two main colors
  3. I get it. Seattle had a team they loved that was stolen from them by Oklahoma City. If Hurricane Katrina never happened (not just in this sense but for the sake of people's lives,) then Oklahoma City wouldn't become a viable option for basketball and the SuperSonics probably would have never moved. Heck, if the Hornets-at-the-time (it's really weird situation when try to talk about the two teams from a historical perspective) played somewhere else, then there's a chance they still wouldn't have moved. But, the past is the past and we can't change it. However, at this point, it's certain that you're gonna get your team back. Every time someone brings up NBA expansion, just about everyone says Seattle. But now, since KeyArena is getting renovations, not just for an NHL setup, but also for the basketball setup, the Sonics will be coming back in the near future. The renovations are expected to be finished in 2020, so the earliest they can begin play is the 2020-21 season. But, the expansion bid hasn't been placed yet, due to the fact that the higher-ups of Seattle are more concerned about hockey and the NHL than basketball and the NBA. Because of these things, people need to stop putting Seattle on their expansion lists. At this point, it's certain they're coming back, and the fans wishes have pretty much been granted. Thank you for looking at my somewhat of a rant. Please comment your feeling or your thoughts about the Seattle situation. (mods sorry for posting this in the wrong thread. please move this thread to sports in general. also please don't hurt me.)
  4. I Want some sonic boom back! Here's an Seattle Supersonics concept I made
  5. Sorry if this has been posted before... I did a quick search and did not turn up anything, but I thought it'd be fun to have a place where we showcase any successful relocations in NBA 2K16! It's a fairly robust creation kit, and it's predicated strongly on uploading logos from your computer to 2K's website, so the Illustrator folks aren't handcuffed by the in-game logo creation suite. (Jerseys and courts, like I said, are robust and not a handicap at all.) The reason I'm posting this now? After 3 years in MyGM, my Clippers relocation to Seattle was finally approved! Introducing the new and improved SuperSonics (C+C appreciated):
  6. Hello! This is my personal redesign of the Seattle Supersonics. As always feel free to critique and I will answer questions when I can. As a note, for all intents and purposes, the work posted here is complete. The rest of the branding and other things will be on my Behance portfolio sometime soon. Enjoy!
  7. Always wanted an NBA team in Pittsburgh. Messed around and came up with these. Looking back at it, I could make the first one a little more clean. But I don't consider myself a Photoshop guru, so I'm happy with them.
  8. This is my attempt at a new set of logos and Jerseys for the Seattle supersonics, let me know what you think
  9. Hello again. I recently made a different topic similar to this one about the possibility of Under Armour taking over the NBA, however now we learned that Nike is the frontrunner. I have made previous concepts, but I have revised some. I have not included the brand because it is just a concept not based on previous uniforms made by other manufacturers. Revised Bucks Uniforms with Current Logos/Colors I will post my updated Supersonics and Timberwolves concepts in the near future, and also an alternate for Portland, along with redesigns for the Clippers and Raptors (Huskies). Tell me what you think! Bucks Logos, Colors, and Wordmarks Bucks Away: Bucks Home: Bucks Alternate:
  10. So in a thread or two I've noticed a lot discussion about the deal that might be made for the sale of the Sacramento Kings to the Hansen-Balmer group to move the team to Seattle. I've been specifically curious as to what people think the branding direction should be taking. I personally would prefer either the SuperSonics name or something new to be rolled out. I'd however want that whatever the name is - to have the colours reminiscent of the Sonics colours. So what are your thoughts - ideas on branding and how they should treat all this? All the franchise history chatter should fit well here too of course, as well as rumours for designs and such.
