  1. As a Ranger fan, the current logo and uniform set leaves a lot to be desired. "Rangers" is nowhere to be found on any of the uniforms, the "TEXAS" lettering isn't unique and resembles the font used by the Angels, the primary T logo on our hats doesn't even match the T on the jersey...and on and on. These are obviously just my own opinions, so I wanted to create something to look at to put my mind at ease. (First time concept creator here) First change was the shade of red and blue. I wanted to match the exact shades from the Texas flag. The star in the circle will probably bring some "too much like the Astros" criticism, but I think Texas needs to claim this symbol. It is, after all, what the actual Texas Ranger law enforcement badge looks like... I took a lot of inspiration from the 1972 original logo (below). I never liked the "Rangers" lettering from it (thought the lowercase made it look too cartoony), but I did like the "TEXAS" font used. As a team representing the entire state, this font just screams Texas, and I think using something a little more generic (like our current uni's) is a missed opportunity. I also took the idea of the drop shadow from this logo. The vast majority of teams just use a simple outline, but the drop shadow is unique. The sleeve hat-on-baseball logo is obviously a colorized version of the below. Another unique bit of imagery I wanted to bring back...in the inaugural game, the team wore Stetsons on the field during the anthem for God's sake. Lastly, for the alternate I wanted to recreate the 1957 version of the Texas Ranger badge (below). By all accounts the actual Rangers didn't like the design of the badge, but visually it's great. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
  2. I decided to modernize the current Texas Rangers identity. I always thought they have a good set of logos, but, since they've rebranded in 2003, they also aged over time. Current Texas Rangers primary mark 1 – Primary logo: No more drop shadow on the "T" initial. Bolder lines and a slightly broader typeface. New baseball seams. The two stars are now separately placed on a white background. 2 – Secondary logo: A modernized version of the 1994-2002 alternate logo. The two shades of silver are no longer part of the Rangers color scheme. 3 – Alternate logo: A revised version of the current alternate Texas flag logo being used on the Rangers uniforms. The bevel on the lone star has been removed, as well as the color silver.
  3. I always loved this old school Rangers logo!!! I'd love to see that brought back to life with up to date western fonts and colorization's along with adding in our updated TEXAS and a cool new baseball and hat. I bet as I'm saying this, someone on here could blow us away with something amazing!!! The Rangers may get fired up and realize it was greatness all along!!! Maybe even do some variation versions (with some black, reversed colors, etc). I tried to post this the other day and it got erased and I was told it should be put under request...so, I hope this is the correct format.
  4. I should start off by saying I'm new here. I found this site a few years ago and fell in love with it instantly. This looks like a pretty fun forum here. About a month ago, I thought: "If these teams are tying to reach the mountain top, why don't we make it look like it. So I'm testing it with this year's MLB Playoffs. The 10 teams start at the bottom with the Commissioner's Trophy waiting for the champion at the top. This is another unique look at a bracket as well as the circle and the court/rink layouts. What do you guys thing?
  5. Back in October, I started my "Yet Another" series of concepts by doing a crossover thread in which I made football team out of current MLB teams. It was fun and probably my most successful thread on these boards with the NHL Crossover and NFL Series threads right behind. Fast forward almost nine months and I've decided to update each and every one of the concepts. Instead of adding on to the old thread and having you all dig through almost 7 pages of now-broken links, I will re-post them using my new Nike Vapor Untouchable template, featuring pants options and more-detailed helmets. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Without further ado, the first team "up to bat" is the... ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS: Home: Away: Alternate: Blackout: Throwback: Suggestions: Outline helmet logo in turquoise on primaries, use proper throwback font. NOTES I decided to start with Arizona because Anaheim is just a simple template change and the D-Backs had more to work with. I wasn't able to recreate the actual diamond/gradient pattern that the team uses, so I settled for a basic gradient. The helmet, jerseys, and pants all feature a gradient. The D-Snake logo appears on the helmet and the pants options feature the thin cut-off stripe. The Throwback was obvious as it's based on their inaugural set. This time I made the pants and helmet shiny & copper. C&C is appreciated. Anaheim is on deck!
