  1. It's been a long while since I've run a series through these boards. A year and a half ago I did a complete NFL overhaul, though I don't feel like I was as ambitious as I could have been. A lot of designs were run of the mill in the concept world. So, this is an evolution of my vision and concept-presentations. The old me used to like to start concept threads and not release any more than a few before getting ADD, but, just like my last NFL series, I've got a lot of time to kill in the next month and a lot of creative juices flowing. Plus, as I've continued to practice and oversee concepts on these boards, I've found it easier to make elaborate, detailed designs with more ease. Without any more walls of text, see the next post for the first concept! I'll keep a running list with links to the images so you can always take a gander through the front page of the thread. Enjoy! (Click in images for high-res) Pittsburgh Steelers | Home | Road New York Jets | Home | Road Atlanta Falcons | Home | Road | Third Pittsburgh Steelers Every time I've seen a Pittsburgh Steelers concept, the designer has abandoned the red and blue colors in the primary logo. So, my goal was to find a way to fit all of the colors in. After a lot of trial and error, I decided the best idea was to leave the logo badge on the jersey and then translate the logo badge into sock stripes. The mach-speed template was friendly to the shoulder stripes from the bumble bee uniforms, so I trimmed that design element into the template and made room for a clean presentation of the numbers and TV numbers. I decided to go back to a block font. I tried the stencil numerals, but felt that would be overkill of different elements.
  2. Alright so this is my first post on this sight, I’ve been a fan of this sight for a while and I’ve just been amazed by the stuff I have seen people create from Logos from scratch to redesigning older logos and giving them a modern twist, to people totally redesigning a league. So a few weeks ago I decided to actually start making my own concept logos and uniforms for fun when I’m bored and there’s nothing to do, this may even help me out in the future but there still are a lot of things that I need some help on. So my first concept I wanted to do kinda backfired on me because there were a few things that I couldn’t find so I dropped it and I kinda gave up almost until a few days ago I decided to give it another shot but change it from baseball to a hockey concept because I thought it would be alittle easier to start off with, the team I had in mind creating a concept with was the Winnepeg Jets, now I live in Michigan so I’m a Red Wings fan but I thought about creating a Winnepeg Jets Alternate because they don’t have one. My inspiration for my uniform was there throwback 1979-90 road uniform and there 1991-96 road uniform I was leaning more for the 1979 look more because I looked more unique than the 1991 look. 1991-96 1979-90 And heres what I got so far But there’s a problem you see the striping on the bottom of the 1979 uniform I want to add that on the uniform as well and the striping on the elbow from the 1991 uniform but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. Please help because I would like to finish this and this will help me out greatly for future projects. And if your also wondering I'm using Photoshop CS5. *UPDATE* Thanks to all the help Ive gotten since I posted this I finally finished the uniform and it was really simple actually but thanks to the community I figured it out. Here it is!!! Now its nothing too over the top but this was a good starter to get my feet wet into this, if there's any improvements you think i should work on to make my work look better feel free but keep it positive since Im just getting started
  3. The Jayhawks' football season officially ended over the weekend, and KU was easily one of the worst dressed teams in college football. The University of Kansas is known first for it's long history of college basketball, but KU also has a proud football tradition. While the program as a whole has not been as memorable as it's basketball counterparts, the football team has had it's share of on-the-field successes. The team never looked or played better than their 2007 season with culminated in an Orange Bowl victory. Since '07, the uniform has undergone a few tweaks. Mark Mangino was released as coach of the team in 2009, and the red stripe was removed from the helmet. Player names were removed from the back of the jersey and then reintroduced the following year. The occasional alternate or throwback jersey were made, but the biggest uniform changes took place for the 2013 season. Early this summer, KU and Adidas previewed a series of 5 helmets, but none of which featured the familiar Trajan font KU logo. Four of the five helmets featured KU's Jayhawk logo, while the fifth helmet was designed to be a throw-back helmet honoring the 1961 team. As KU officially unveiled the team's 2013 uniforms in September, the helmet offering was paired back. The black and powder blue helmet were removed, leaving a white and blue helmet with the current Jayhawk logo, and a red helmet with the 1941 Jayhawk. The uniforms were met with mixed reviews.
  4. It's me again with my 3rd try on NFL Uniform redesigns for the boards. I'm really confident that this time i've got it down. I'm making logos and uniforms for this thread. Feel free to give some feedback and suggestions. Credit to Blase for the template. Here, first up the New York Jets! Primary Logo: Home Uniform: Away Uniform: Alternate (Throwback) Uniform:
  5. I kind of stole this idea from myself. I just did a Tennessee Titan concept using a similar gradient, but then thought it would look nice here.
  6. Hello all! First post on this site! I've been in the uniform making game for a few years, though never anything not related to soccer ( poster over on I've joined with plans to introduce uniform concepts of mine which go beyond the realm of the football pitch, and onto various Olympic events! I'd very much like to become involved with the community here, so if anybody has requests of a random summer olympic sport uniform ( handball, womens archery, cycling ) give me a shoutout ITT and i'll make sure to create one! Here's my inaugural go at it, just the top of a basketball uniform design i'm developing. Always been a fan of the work Nike did for the Chinese teams, basketball in particular. this one uses the very new and fresh 2014 Nike Hyper Elite basketball template, which seems to be setting some sort of trend for lightweight construction, really thin printed on cuffs, etc. Please do click full-size to see the detail. Would love some C&C, and would appreciate it.
  7. So after seeing countless NFL re-designs in this forums over the past year or two -- some great, some not so great -- I have decided to throw my hat in the ring. I'm currently designing as well as modifying some existing templates to fit my needs, so the actual process may play out rather slowly. I will be releasing each team as I finish them, by division, starting with the AFC North.
  8. I've done an NFL Redesign thread in the past, and i'm gonna give it another try. Since then, I've got photoshop, illustrator, and my skills have improved. So heres my new one! This is my first time using this template, so it is kinda rough, but heres the Redskins! WASHINGTON REDSKINS: Home Away (I know the white jersey doesn't look that good, i'm trying to find a better way to apply the white.) Alternate
  9. I've seen some people do this, so I decided to give it a try. I'm swapping and switching colors on certain parts of the uniform to provide an alternate concept or just a for-fun idea. I hope you enjoy them! First I started with the Broncos. These first ones are kinda rough. The Broncos have only a slight difference. I felt that the Broncos needed another, lighter, sky blue. So on the top left and bottom left ones, I switched anything major on the the uniform that was white to sky blue. In the top right uniform I made the entire jersey sky blue (I know that it kind of looks like just a shadow on the top right, but it's sky blue. And on the bottom right one I went back to the original white numbers and logo, but I made the pants orange instead of white.
  10. Here is the Michigan State Spartans helmet that I came up with. It has a different logo and color. Here is the jersey that I came up with too. I used the current jersey template from Wikipedia
  11. Since the new Tampa Bay helmet has opened the door on giant helmet logos...
  12. With Arkansas' newest football unveiling I felt slightly in the minority of being a bit disappointed. While their last set wasn't perfect by any means, I really liked the uniqueness of the "razor-stripe" and thought there was something ownable about it. Much moreso than the "tusk / stadium jaw" insert color insert. Overview of what I did here: Kept razor-stripe on shoulders like their previous set, but kept it one color (i.e. no more grey/black/anthracite), which also means the capped sleeves are gone.Returned to previous wordmarks. IMO the new ones feel over designed. The old ones felt "razory" but still clean.Kept new secondary hog on neck. I think it works well there and is an improvement over the hog/shield from before.Added shoulder numbers, like the previous set had. Without any substantial shoulder / sleeve design, the absence of them feels unfinished to me.Kept new pants stripe. I think this is a certain improvement over the old fill-in-the-blank style one, and compliments the razor-stripe well.Switched the running hog to the other side of the pants so it's running forward and not backward. On white pants/helmet I used the red/black running hog instead of the reversed out red one. I think that if that's your primary logo, that's how it should appear on your uniforms. I did use the white/red version on the red helmet for traditions' sake and whatnot (and because it actually has correct shadows/highlights unlike the reversed version)Changed helmet back bumper to read "Arkansas" instead of "Razorbacks" because it seemed redundant to have "Hogs" on the front and "Razorbacks" on the back.
  13. Hey all, Been lurking around for a while and have loved seeing new concepts get rolled out here and there so I figured it was finally time to post some of my own. With no way to draw these up electronically I'm gonna have to ask everyone to bare with my pen and paper skills. The concept is for my high school baseball team that is in its second year right now and although we got new jerseys this year, I'd like to see some improvements and more than just a blue alternate that we currently use. The team is a co-op between two schools, the Portland Lutheran Blue Jays and the Portland Waldorf Wolfpack. Last year we went with a W/L combined into one logo, but the coaches weren't too happy with it so our jerseys and caps this year just have a white P (on blue background) to represent our city. The home white uses our current P (Red Sox 'B' style) but puts numbers on the front using the standard numbering font. The name lettering and back numbers are the same font as the front numbers. I'm a fan of piping so I added that but I wanted to get people's opinions on the sleeve lines. The left arm patch is a wolf head, the logo of the Wolfpack, and the right arm patch is the head of a blue jay, the other school's logo. The pants are just a typical white with one stripe going down the side with the same colored belt. I like hats that have a different bill color than base color, so I tried blue back/side panels and bill and white front panels with the same chest logo as the hat logo. I like the color combo in the hat but I want to know if it is working for other people. The away grays use the same number/letter font but has PORTLAND as the wordmark rather than a chest logo. I think it might just be how dark I colored in the jersey but this set seems a little outdated to me. Thoughts? The arm patches are the same as the home whites Right now our jerseys are the same royal blue that I'm using here with white patches underneath the arms and on other various parts of the jersey, the look you would expect from an MLB BP jersey. I was thinking these could stay as alternates but I might update this concept with a different alternate. Thanks for taking a look at a guy's first attempt. Sorry for the wall of text. C&C would be much appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to get these up in an electronic version soon.
  14. I'm trying to get back into the concept funk. It seems like I've been a lurker almost for the past few months. Atlanta Braves uniform concept I wanted to give the Braves a new look, mainly because with their new "star spangled" jersey, the elimination of the regular Friday road reds and the continued existence of the all-blue road uniforms (which are always called "badass" and their "best uniforms!!" even though I despise them) I've begun to really hate the Braves look. For starters, I made the blue shirt a single piece that can be worn in select home or road games, simply as a day-to-day alternate for equipment life purposes. It's essentially a jersey version of the sherseys that the Braves have sold for years -- red script, tomahawk and numerals instead of the blue-on-blue. The iconic, simple red white and blue caps are the mainstay of the two regular home uniform options and now again part of the road look. I added a simple alternate road cap for when the team wears the blue shirts on the road to give it a different look--with a different cap and grey pants it will appear as a completely different uniform. As far as the regular home and road go, I made a very minor tweak, which was to tone down the piping from three bars to one, preserving the look and making the uniforms less busy. I've heard many people in the past actually say that the uniforms look too busy because of the piping, while others have complained about the tomahawk on the chest. While there's just as many who say the Braves uniforms are a modern classic, I figured I'd choose the medium between the two. The Sunday home alternate is something out there. I originally thought a throwback would suffice, but as I began working on it I decided "Why not make something interesting?" I'd hope the feathered cap would be a seller, while the sleeveless jerseys, designed under shirt and dark pants are a very progressive combination. In the regular would these probably wouldn't fly, but who knows how much the MLB's standards could once again change? Right?
  15. Hey everyone, this is my first concept on the boards! I'll be taking NBA uniforms and creating them as football teams. I know I'm not the first to do so, but it's been fun for me so far. A couple standards I'm following: I try to best depict each team's current uniforms as football uniforms. So I won't be fixing any teams' identities. (There are a couple exceptions where I used previous sets...more on that later.)I'm not worried about basketballs being in the logos that are on these. I didn't want to go into each teams' logo and try to remove basketballs, especially in the NBA where they're everywhere.I'm doing home, away, and one alternate. No team can have more than two helmets. I started off by having a different helmet for each set, and it got out of hand.I'll be going through this by division.Hope you guys like it! First up is the Oklahoma City Thunder. I thought their side panels translated really well to a traditional football stripe. This concept was the first one I did and what inspired me to try it with other teams. Again with the alternate I thought the simple two white stripes look they use translated really well to a football uniform. Edit: Click here for updated OKC Thunder
  16. Hey there everyone! I am very new to making concepts. I am using paint most of the time because I am not too skilled! I mostly just change colors around for my concepts, but sometimes it can result in something amazing! So first I have a New Orleans Saints Uni. It would be away and kind of a one time thing!
  17. From what is being reported Atlanta will be announced as the newest MLS expansion team on April 16th. As of right now I have not heard of any discussions of the Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL) moving into the MLS, especially since the ownership groups are different. I was just wondering what a Silverbacks kit would look like designed for the MLS. Last week as well the SIlverbacks released their new kits for the upcoming NASL season. They were no longer sporting the hoops which I personally liked, and have no character at all. I would love to hear some feedback, as this is the first uniform design I have tried.
  18. I've been working on a new Nike template for the past couple of weeks and am even using an earlier version for chrisCLEMENT and my concept series. I have been able to get it fairly accurate thanks to a lot of pictures being posted for the Alamo Bowl. I decided to just test it out by doing a mock up of what Oregon is going to wear in their bowl game this year. The template is far from perfect at this point so it would be great if anybody has any suggestions or notices anything that needs to be fixed as more pictures are released. I'm sure I'll notice some things that need to be changed during the game as well.
  19. 1) Cardinals' 3d base coach Jose Oquendo wearing a hoodie under his jersey during last fall's World Series. 2) Umpire Dana DeMuth wearing a long-sleeve turtleneck under his short-sleeve shirt while working the plate (instead of wearing a plate blazer, windbreaker, or long sleeve pullover shirt). He did wear his plate blazer, however, during Game 3 of the aforementioned WS. 3) Umpires like Angel Hernandez and Dan Iassogna wearing turtlenecks over their chest protector while working the plate with their plate blazers. 4) A spring training game on Monday w/the Pirates where the plate ump(I don't know who) wore a black shirt while the base umps wore blue shirts(In a 2011 game in Cincinnati, Doug Eddings got away with the same offense).
  20. Hi everyone, I decided to do a total rebrand of the Detroit Lions as if "bubbles" and the current branding never existed. I did it more for fun and as a challenge to myself to come up with a full branding system. I warn those who are Lions fans that this doesn't keep much of what is currently in the system or on the uniforms. It definitely has a less traditional feel to it. I mean no disrespect to the current branding or the traditions from which it came from. That being said, let's go into the project. I based my logo concept off of a 70's profile Detroit Lions Logo that I found on this very site, and made an updated version of it. I thought the profile head would look great for the helmets and be able to be used in many different applications. I then thought to do a front view to be able to be used on the uniforms, and additional logos can help merchandising. I based the typography on a black letter style since the tigers use blackletterI then did the unthinkable and darkened the Lions blue and added a surprise color into the uniforms. I felt that the orange could symbolize fire: the fires of industry found in Detroit, the rebirth of a team from the ashes etc. I also thought the new color could help be a driver for new merchandise lines. For the Uniforms I included watermarks on the shoulderpads of tire patterns representing the motor city, and a grid of the city on the silver uniform.I then decided to extend the series to include a stationary system for their corporate offices. I hope yall like them, and I'm open to your feedback. Thanks, enjoy Profile primary Profile full body front facing logo Lions script Lions Helmet Uniform front Uniform front with Lion patch Uniform back Full Uniform full uniform silver Lions Stationary Sorry forgot to say I used templates from Frasier Davidson for the helmet and uniform shot
  21. First three im doing are Washington, New England and Philly
  22. I did my high school branding including athletic logos. I always thought we had an interesting mascot, but didn't have a branding system to match it. We are called the cavemen after a cave that was discovered up the canyon from our school. I used the sabretooth headdress to help differentiate from Indian logos, and at the bottom of the primary logo I put an illustration of the American Fork river and canyon (The city is named after it). The athletic branding incudes primary logo, and secondary logos.
  23. This is a Baylor Retro Concept that I made after seeing their uniforms that they wore against Texas. This is the full bear logo with word mark.
  24. Here's another in my template series. I'm working on a whole set of templates. This is my Reebok Edge hockey template. Right now I'm still refining it, so it's not being released just yet. When it's ready, I'll modify the topic appropriately. So here's what I have so far, and I would like some C&C on it please.
