  1. I had an idea for the uniforms of teams that I created in https://basketball-gm.com/. I thought I would share them for some C&C. Note these concepts were created in paint and that this is my first attempt to do something like this. Future concepts are on the way.
  2. It's simple. Post uniforms that you think would look better with/without one small detail. Please say what you would add or remove to the uniform. Louisville;s football numbers. I think it would so much better if they get rid of the drop shadows on the numbers. Drop Shadows should be reserved for the 90's or 7th grade teams. And next we have the 49ers and their messed up sleeve stripes. They would easily have a much better uniform if they just fixed the dang stripes!
  3. Hello! I'm pretty new here, but I feel like this would a good first topic to start with. It didn't seem to fit in the NFL weekly uniform matchup thread, nor did I see any separate topic about it, so I thought I'd go ahead and make it myself. However, admins can feel free to merge or delete this topic if they feel like it doesn't warrant its own. With Super Bowl fever in full swing, I was inspired by the weekly NFL uniform match-up thread to ask you this: What to you is the best Super Bowl uniform matchup of them all? To me, it's Super Bowl XXV: Bills Vs. Giants. I love how their color schemes were effectively the same, only reversed, creating a pleasant meetup of nicely contrasting/reflecting colors. The uniforms were also very similar and complementing. I've always found Buffalo's 90s look, especially the red helmet, white jersey and white pants away combo, to be one of the better uniforms the NFL has seen.
  4. This can go on all sports, but right now in the NBA I have to say the Rockets, Jazz, and Thunder are the teams most in need. In the NFL the Bucs and the Jags need to scratch the Nike treatment, and in baseball the only team that really catches me are the Rockies. But the worst team in all "4 major sports" IMO is the Aneheim Ducks.
  5. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL POST: I decided to throw my hat in the ring for the Clippers' new look. This is just the rough draft right now, and I'll get into more detail (logos, uniforms, wordmark, numbers) later, but let me know what ya think...
  6. Happy Memorial Day everyone! Ok, so a little background on this. I've done many NFL Redesigns in the past, I believe this is my 4th attempt. I had one going pretty strong in the late summer of last year, but the start of school interfered and I never got back to it. This year, I have many already pre-done to prevent me falling behind and now that summer is just beginning, I will have much more free time on my hands. I believe my series will be the best I've had yet and hope everyone enjoys this. I will be doing logo sets first and probably going back to uniforms after that. So for now, just be ready for logos. First up, The Arizona Cardinals. ARIZONA CARDINALS I've seen many different approaches done with the Cardinals uniform-wise, but logo-wise, not so much. This was the first one I did in this series, and did so many months ago, so it might need improvement. There's some stuff I need to fix, but I can't quite figure out what. I haven't added a wordmark, but I might soon. Suggestions Appreciated, Hope you enjoy this series that I hope and plan to finally complete. There's been a lot of NFL Redesigns on the board lately so I hope this starting with logos makes it stand out.
  7. Hello Guys i know you're probably tired of seeing me here, but I've been doing so many concepts lately i just want to share my work. ok with that said heres the gist of the reasoning behind me making this concept. i thought about doing this after i replied to a post that was looking for help on an old concept they had and i really liked the name "Detroit Soul" and i thought "Hmm that would be a great name for a team i have in mind" needless to say it was the Drive. i love Detroit's history and everything the city is known for as far as cars and music. the city has a nice amount of sports teams with great history behind there names but the Pistons "new" D-League affiliate is just a generic attempt at forcing the car identity of the city and not much speaks to the music side of things as far as sports go. after about an hour of thinking and a quick session for sketching i came up with a concept to have a sports team that speaks to the music identity of Detroit and with the city being home to Motown Records i though why not. i worked for a few hours on this but its still in the very earlier stages just like some of the other things i have going now but i would live to know what everyone thinks. i modeled the Main Logo after Motown Records's logo Real C&C wanted and thanks for looking Main Logo: Secondary Logos: Home & Away Jerseys:
  8. So here I am again. I don't post very many concepts on here because I can only use .svg templates and they are hard to find but I found some I really like, huge shout out to the now not very active gingerbreadmann for the templates. Anyway, let's get to the actual uniforms: Here is the home: I really like the mountain striping so I tried to make a simpler form of that on the bottom. The CA logo font is Richardson Brand Accelerator and the NOB and numbers are Pointer Sans (a Conrad font, but aren't they all here?). Thanks for reading!
  9. Hey guys, I made an alternate uniform for every AL team and I will make NL ones soon. These are just rough drafts but I thought I'd post them anyway. Here is the AL West first. Tell me what you think!
  10. Hey guys- After looking at the TB vs CHI Stanley Cup Finals series, I thought that this could be one of the best dressed series in playoff/championship sports history. I mean, look at them: Is there any others you thought looked really good? Post your ideas here. I would love to see this become an awesome thread.
  11. I have always been one to care about uniforms, logos and the general aesthetics of sports. I am a huge Hawks fan, and we pumped when the organization decided to go back to the pacman identity. Now that it is reported to be our primary identity starting next year along with some other changes, I assume our uniforms will reflect our new identity. I'll initially post rough ideas/sketches, and eventually add more polished artwork. You are welcome to post any ideas you may have and/or feedback.
  12. After seeing the replies on v.2 of this concept, I made a few tweaks and eliminated the extra grey and blue jerseys and which cut the alternates to three alternate jerseys. Anyways I'll break down the changes to each. What do you think and feel free to comment your thoughts. Home Uniform: The home set from the first concept has remained unchanged and is heavily modeled infact a clone of the home uniforms worn from 1994-2001. Away Uniform: The away uniform is unchanged from v.2 concept except the hat went through a tweak by changing the block C from red to white with a red outline. Alternate 1: The alternate 1 uniform is left unchanged from the v.2 concept and is based off of the 1998-1999 alternate blue jersey. At home it is paired with the primary home cap with Chief Wahoo on it, on the road it is paired with the all navy Chief Wahoo cap. Alternate 2: The alternate 2 uniform is red as a homage to the 97 AL All-Star jerseys but the Indians script is changed to Cleveland in white lettering with a blue trim. At home the uniform is paired with an all red cap with a white block C with navy trim. On the road the alternate is paired with the primary road cap. Alternate 3: The alternate 3 uniform is the Saturday/Sunday afternoon home alternate and is almost the same as the current weekend uniform except the navy piping is added with Indians script being changed from red with navy trim to navy with red trim paired with matching pants with red socks, belt, and cleats. BP Home: The BP home is left unchanged except on the cap the block C is navy with white trim. BP Away: The BP away is also left unchanged except the cap is navy with a white front with a red block C trimmed in navy similar to the 2014 All-Star game cap worn by Michael Brantley. Again tell me what you think and I hope you guys like them. Regardless this is an improvement over the current set. Here is v.2 concept if you want to see the changes. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/103616-updating-the-cleveland-indians-uniforms-v2/#entry2442272
  13. What do you guys think of MLB teams that have on field hats they don't wear anymore, but keep around for the fans to buy? Such as the Marlins orange hat (tragic), the reds black hat, the Red Sox hanging sox hat, etc.

  15. Sorry to those who saw my earlier posts – I promise this is the last time I will post this, but I was advised to start my own forum. A while back this image was posted in a UniWatch article, but taken down about 30 minutes later. In it, you can see a number of small uniform templates. Most of them have the adidas and NBA logos on the front, which would imply that they are for merchandising and not necessarily on court uniforms. There is one template that looks like it could be legit, so based on that, I made this mock-up, which I think is pretty close to the new jerseys.
  16. For me, the archetype of this would be "normal" green. You know, something similar to the color of a Crayola crayon labeled simply "green." The Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Jets, the Oakland Athletics, and (among other schools) Michigan State University all used to wear variations of this color. Now they've all greatly darkened their shades of green, with the Eagles donning what's actually dark teal, and Sparty wearing something not too far off, while the Jets' shade of green looks almost black. Who's still wearing "normal" green? Off the top of my head, all I could think of in the Big 4+well-known colleges and universities were the Boston Celtics (primary color), Marshall University (primary color), Florida Gulf Coast University (secondary color), and the Vancouver Canucks (secondary color). Anybody else got more? Another is a *bright* metallic gold. The Saints used to have this, as did the Colorado Buffaloes. UCLA football still wears it, but many of the others have either darkened or dulled (or both) their shades of gold, for whatever reason. Anybody else have more examples of teams that used to (or still do) wear these colors? Any other colors that have faded from the spotlight? It definitely seems that there's more standardization of colors, especially in college---probably due to more manufacturer-sharing, although I don't know that for sure. Anyway, feel free to weigh in!
  17. Hi everyone! This is my concept i'll work on in my spare time. This is my first concept http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo208/ECUPIRATE4LIFE/FullSizeRender_zpszfoz5z9i.jpg
  18. This is an idea I've had for a while and started working on about 2 weeks ago. Then today, somebody suggested something similar in the "ugliest matchup" thread, so I thought I'd better get mine going before somebody beat me to it. Anyway, the idea is simple (in fact its probably already been done)... take a uniform from the past and a uniform from the present and combine them. My idea was to go with the colors and logos of one team, and cram it onto the uniform of another, basically. So here goes... First, I'm taking the Seahawks... nice colors, good logo... and putting it onto the classic Oilers uniform... one of the best designs in NFL history... And getting this...
  19. I have been reading this forum for years but have never actually posted anything until now. I am a high school coach in Ohio and i was looking for some advice on our uniforms. I was wondering what you guys think of our current ones (pictures to come below) and if we do upgrade within the next few years what changes would make these uniforms look better! Thanks!
  20. When a team changes the logo and/or uniform, it can go either way- fans love/hate the change and it either does very well in sales/popularity or not. What are some examples of this you recall? For me, some NBA ones stand out. Positive #1- 1992 Suns. Some forget that Barkley wore the old uni in the preseason, so it's not like we knew what was coming. Literally. The new logo and uniform were unveiled on opening night. The famous staburst logo/uni. It became a hot seller and it was good timing- with the Lakers in decline, Phoenix became the chic Western Conference team. Positive #2- 2001-02 Mavericks. Some forget that the Cuban era and the 50 win playoff streak actually started in the last year of the old unis. This, like the Suns, made the team come off a lot cooler. Didn't hurt that Nash/Nowitzki were thriving, giving these new duds hot-selling names for jersey sales. Negative #1- 1995 Cavaliers. Like the Suns/Mavs, new arena = new look. But this one wasn't seen quite the same. It didn't help that they lacked a big-name to sell the jerseys like Barkley, or even Malone/Stockton with the Jazz mountain unis. Negative #2- 1999 Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks previous unis were ones that most remember- the PacMan logo, the mid-90s one, and the bird uni. Again- new arena, new look. But it just fell flat IMO. And the lack of success makes it more startling- With the PacMan logo uni- made the playoffs all but twice from 1983-1992. With the other uni and then the bird one- 7 straight playoff appearances. With the 1999 uni: never made the playoffs. Switched from yellow/red to red/blue- seven straight playoff appearances. Is it a coincidence that an era of bland jerseys had the least success compared to others?
  21. In your opinion, what are the worst offenders of all time in the still-ongoing "black for black's sake" trend, or the newer "gray for gray's sake" trend? Current? Past? A few that get on my nerves: BFBS: West Virginia men's basketball, black alternate: They wore these in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, making it all the way to the Final Four, so I'm sure many of you remember them. With dark blue being their primary color, there simply wasn't enough contrast with the numbers. I don't know whether they still have them; I read about a GFGS alternate they were getting a couple of years ago. Temple men's basketball, late 1990s: They still have a BFBS alternate, but this one wasn't an alternate---it was their only road uniform, replacing the gorgeous and iconic cherry red they had worn for years. Kansas City Royals road/alternate, Toronto Blue Jays entire uniform set, Cincinnati Reds road, mid 2000s: All three teams have a color as their nickname, or at least in their nickname, so why would they replace it with black? The Royals' was probably the most atrocious of the three; it was dated even before its introduction and wouldn't have looked good to my eyes even when it was in style (black-heavy late 90s). The Reds' black caps should've been killed off a lot sooner than they were---honestly, I don't see why they even need it as an accent color. I actually thought the Jays' GFGS home cap from 2004 looked decent, but overall they underutilized blue in that set. I was glad to see them go back to a more traditional design. Golden State Warriors alternate, present: Would this be BFBS or GFGS? Either way, it's unnecessary. Detroit Lions, former alternate: It didn't look altogether terrible, had it been for an expansion team or something. But it was for the Lions, who have a tradition-rich (and generally very tasteful) uniform history, with an excellent one-two punch of Honolulu blue and silver. They don't need black at all, much less as a jersey color. Best BFBS: Washington Huskies football and men's basketball alternate, late-2000s to present: Like with West Virginia's, these render the numerals hard to read; unlike West Virginia's, they look cool to me, in a modern "techy" sort of way. Arizona Cardinals: Their BFBS jersey isn't amazing, but it looks much better than their awful red jersey. I do find it slightly annoying, though, because Cardinals aren't black, they're red. This team's whole set (minus perhaps the logo and helmet) is due for a redesign, but they should maintain a black alternate jersey when that happens. Butler Bulldogs men's basketball: They actually look cool. I think navy blue uniforms would also look cool, though. I'd like to see them alternate between the two. Personal pet peeve: As briefly mentioned above, teams that have colors as (or in) their nicknames but wear another color (most commonly black, but not always) instead: Duke Blue Devils men's basketball and (more recently) football: Luckily they use the black as an alternate rather than eliminating the blue altogether. It doesn't look awful, but their blue looks much better. Stanford Cardinal men's basketball and football: Looks terrible, and cardinal is a color that they wear well in addition to being their nickname. You'd think people at such a prestigious school would see the incongruity here. Harvard Crimson men's basketball: Ditto, and they actually don't wear crimson now because of it. Boo. Niagara Purple/Purple Eagles: They sported black unis a few years back when they made the NCAAs. A real head-scratcher. North Texas Mean Green: Same thing. They're not the "Mean Black," they're the "Mean Green." Best and worst GFGS: Tennessee Volunteers football alternate: Best because the gray is a unique shade, it actually looks pretty good (esp. with orange numbers), and it makes me think of Tennessee's legendary Smoky Mountains. Worst because their orange is also a unique shade and it looks great, so any chance they pass up to wear it is a mistake. Next-worst GFGS: Wichita State Shockers men's basketball: Because it denies them a chance to ever wear yellow, the main color of their logo. Anyone else's thoughts are welcome!
  22. Hello everyone, I am not new to these boards and have had a few series. Yet, those series have gone unfinished, Idk but whenever i start a new topic I complete about 3 concepts and then forget about it completely. I am sorry for clogging the boards with a few unfinished concept series. So for this NFL revival i will focus on completing it 100%. Lets start off with the Cardinals, victims of terrible piping right now I really wanted to take an element from past uniforms and make it new. Also aded the stripes to the helmet, and made the red lighter. The color change was an attempt to make the uniforms and logo seem more bold and aggressive. I also eliminated the monochrome red look... Leave C&C Please!!
  23. What's up guys. Finally decided to do my own uniform concepts. I'm planning on doing a set for every team but I don't know how often I'll post due to other things going on that come first. Regardless, I should be doing a set whenever I can. I've had some ideas and the itch to do this for a while. Anyways, first up is Atlanta. I love their potential for awesome uniforms as soon as next year (personally I wanna see that charcoal court but IDK if that'll actually happen.) The home/away unis are pretty straight forward. There are wings on on three uniforms on the sides and I intend for them to be the shiny material like the Hornets currently use on the side of their shorts. Going for an Oregon football vibe I guess. The alts are pretty...weird. ATLANTA across the crotch area in the same shiny material I just mentioned. Not sure how people will feel about these but oh well. Let me know what you think! (And if anyone wants me to do a specific team next please lmk) http://jessediebolt.com/post/113104422339/atlanta-hawks-uniform-set-concept-jesse-diebolt
  24. My friend was wearing a Adidas Baylor hat today and it got me thinking. I thought Baylor had Nike uniforms and not Adidas . I looked up the uniforms and realized that Baylor had Nike for football and Adidas for basketball last year. Has there been any other colleges that have more than one jersey manufacturer?
  25. Here is my first image posting to the Board. My inspiration for this project were my passions of the NFL & the Presidents of the United States. I paired each President with a team that he'd probably root for based on where he grew up or established his career.
