  1. Some of you may already know that the OHL is leaving Brampton to go to Northern Ontario (rightfully, ONE may add?). And that with the Batallion's departure, the Powerade Centre will be welcoming another big hockey ticket, the "Central Hockey League". Well, today the "Brampton Hockey" team annouced its 10 finalists from teh "name the team" contest. Here they are: http://www.hockeybrampton.com/vote.html Is it just me, or are those just absolutely unoriginal, not to say lame? And it's not because my 3 suggestions didn't make it (I am a little surprised that they got more than 12 entries...) but what do you think? An now hat I see this "democratic" process for the name, I am getting quite concerned about the overall identity (logo and jerseys).
  2. lol at the last part. I wonder if they brought Count Bettman in to waggle his head and say "it's not necessarily impossible that if you don't not fail to not sell out, this isn't going to work." Anyway, another GTA team bites the dust. This one was ten minutes down the street from Mississauga. They were on the same street! I think this is a good move on two levels, as 1) it's ultimately a better business plan for the OHL to cover Ontario population centers that aren't served by the NHL and AHL, and 2) THIS IS A TERRIBLE LOGO GUYS. I mean it's not the Sudbury Wolves, nothing is, but it needed to be redrawn pretty badly. I wonder if this means the return of the North Bay Centennials. Good name.
