  1. Hey guys, I've always been interested in doing concepts for fictional sports leagues and I have noticed that there are definitely some cities for which assigning a name can be exceedingly difficult. Like I'm sure many of you do, I try to give my team names some sort of connection with the city (historical, economical, whatever) but for some cities I have major problems. So my question for discussion is, what cities give you the most trouble when doing a fictional league? I know for me my top three are usually LA, Charlotte, and Toronto. Would love to hear what everyone else thinks on the subject!
  2. I've been posting my NFL concepts for a few months, but I've been doing them just one at a time. I've gotten some nice feedback (thanks) but a single concepts they do seem to disappear rather quickly. I've decided to gather them altogether, along with a few new ones (like the following Cowboy concept), which seems to be the preferred way most of us do this. As always, let me know what you think. Starting with the NFC East,
  3. Hi guys! I dont know where to start to be honest so I will keep it short. First of I must tell you that my concepts would not be possible without @Hoopladawg87! He has given me much thought and guidance throughout the creative processes which resulted into this. I can't thank you enough, Hoopla One thing you guys will probably notice that my template is basically a cheap copy of his, which it really is, and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all! So with my limited skills and an eye to detail severely lacking, I tried to make my template like his with the hopes that it would give the concepts a heightened sense of realism. As this is my first post on this great forum it felt only natural to present my favourite team - the Boston Celtics: The Boston Celtics home and away uniforms, now named association and icon, are timeless. Clean, classic and one of the most recognizable in sports. Ever since I saw the St. Patricks uniform I could never shake the feeling that gold is such a beautiful complementary colour to the kelly green and white. I made several renditions but I felt the gold trim was too much, too invasive and bordering on sacrilege. The route, or solution, was to change the Nike logo and players name on the back to gold. A minor change, almost unrecognizable but I feel it is in tune with Nike's minimalistic direction. All comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated! 4. Hey everyone! I've been getting more into the graphic design area of sports and rather than drawing all my logos/uniforms I took a shot at putting one in photoshop. Here is what turned out. I am just looking for feedback and suggestions and might start a fantasy league in the future.
  5. I'm a big fan of vintage logos so I decided to try my hand at updating the Texas Longhorns logo. C & C is always welcomed! *EDIT* Here's an index of all the updated logos done as of 2/16/2015 in this thread courtesy of Doyle524 & davidmiller5. Thank you! http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/95922-updating-vintage-logos/?p=2209439
  6. I've never posted a hockey concept before. I just recently got a template together, so I thought I'd try it out. I had a lot of fun making it. Thoughts?
  7. Hi all, With the AAF season underway and looking more and more like an NFL farm system, I decided to take that literally. I have assigned all 32 NFL teams an affiliate farm team and given them an assigned stadium. However, I will keep the current eight teams and assign them to NFL affiliates with minor recoloring to match their respective teams (they may receive new stadiums to scale down though). I will be going division by division and explaining team names, starting with the AFC East going till the NFC West. I'm excited to work on this, so here goes nothing! Toronto Hogs (Buffalo Bills Affiliate): Nicknamed the hogs due to "Hogtown" being one of Toronto's many nicknames, Toronto would make a great ground for the Bills affiliate, as it would allow for the NFL to expand internationally for the first time and since the Bills played a game in Toronto annually for many years in the past, the affiliate should have fan support. Orlando Apollos (Miami Dolphins Affiliate): The team name and logo remain the same, but are recolored to the Dolphins' signature teal and both shades of orange they used in their history. New Jersey Fighters (New York Jets Affiliate): Obviously a reference to a fighter plane, like the Jets and the logo is in a similar style to the parent organization, even with the impending branding change. It would allow for the team to hang onto their older, retro identity. Providence Minutemen (New England Patriots Affiliate): Referring to the famous soldiers during the American revolution, it fits the Patriots' brand and identity. Let me know your thoughts/suggestions! I will be doing the AFC North next!
  8. Hi Everybody, After much consideration I've decided to open up a topic dedicated to the defunct or forgotten champions of Europe. Most entries will be of clubs that are no longer active but where once prominent clubs in their home country. I will also include some still existing clubs but they have to play in the lower divisions of their respective country. All entries will have revamped crests and kits but also a bit of history, mostly who they where and what happend to the club. The entries will be presented in a group of 4 teams, just like our modern Champions League so because of that updates will be slower, but once the series kicks off there will be a good amount of teams from the very start. I will also still update my Belgian Defunct Clubs series. INDEX 1.INTRO & SUMMARY 2.GROUP A (TORINESE,LEIPZIG,POLONIA,GRADANSKI) 3.GROUP B (RACING, PRESTON NORTH END, R.A.P AMSTERDAM, KB)
  9. I've never done NBA concept series like this before. I've only done court designs but never jerseys. Big shout out to Hoopladawg87 for sharing one of his templates with me, and to Daniel Ramone for creating it. This series is mostly a tweak of what teams were wearing during the 2017/2018 season. Home and roads only for now. I hope to finish it. Up first, the Philadelphia 76ers No major changes here. Just reverting the roads to red because blue looks a little boring them. Updating the wordmark to match the font on their 2017/18 City Jersey which I think makes the jersey looks less cluttered (thin wordmark makes more room for thick side panels). #2. Orlando Magic Inspired by the T-Mac era jerseys, as 90s as they are, I think the stars could work (if Atlanta's triangles are any indication of a watermark pattern would look like) and they're a more unique identifier than pinstripes (which I think are a little tired). I also switched the blue out for a darker shade which I think suits a Florida team more. Feedback welcome of course.
  10. With the switch to Nike in 2020 its a good opportunity to reassess the direction I'd go for all 30 current MLB teams. So with any gilding the lily or further ado, here we go. AL EAST BALTIMORE ORIOLES Although I love the current Orioles look, I've recently become interested in a lot of the uniforms from the early days of the Orioles that deployed solid black piping, especially on the road. The Orioles brought this back when they went retro in the 90's but I don't think they properly committed to that look. To that end, I've gone with double width black piping at home and away and a tail-less version of their modern script. The sleeve design is a take on the smiling bird that adorned the sleeve in the 60's and we have an all black alternate reminiscent of the original Baltimore Orioles who latter became the Yankees.
  11. *Update* This is an old thread I made a few years ago, dedicated strictly to Big Ten uniforms. I've decided to re-purpose it into a general thread for all my college football concepts. The first few pages will be just the older B10 uniforms, then I'll combine in a few other older non-B10 stuff, and going forward it will be what ever college concepts I come up with. IMO the current multi-uniform craze that's been strangling college football for the past 7 or 8 years now, has reached a point of maximum stupidity. At one time, you could argue that it was cool to be one of the teams that pulled off some unexpected out-of-the-box alternate look (I'd probably argue that it was never all that cool, but you could argue it was)... but now? When 4th tier nobody teams hit the field in chrome/matte/charcoal/pattered silliness "Jumped the Shark" doesn't even begin to cover it. With that in mind, I'm remaking the 14 teams of Big Ten, each in a solid signature look. Each team gets just one home jersey, one road jersey, one helmet, one pair of shoes, one pair of socks, and a maximum of two pairs of pants. IMO if the elements are most clearly what each team should be wearing nothing else is needed. I also wanted to put each team into a Nike template, the idea being that, if the conference was united in this "one best look" concept, they should also be united in a single template. With that... here we go!
  12. After stumbling across this website because I like uniform design concepts and making my first attempt with a Bengals redesign, I've decided to give it a go on the whole NFL. Some will be full redesigns while others will just be tweaks. I had a pretty simple baseline: Home and Away Uniforms for everyone, plus up to two extras between alternates and "throwbacks". The throwbacks tend to be a blend between throw and faux backs, but they are typically based in an actual throwback. Additionally, each uniform could have a secondary pair of pants deemed alternate, i.e. Home Alternate. Additionally, I placed them on a green background to show the contrast on grass. I based my templates from this @edjb93's template (to which he credits whoever created it and @LEWJ). So thank you both for sharing the templates! I hope you all enjoy, and let me know what you think!

  14. Well, after like 3 years of not posting anything on here due to starting college back in the day and other factors of life, I'm glad to be back. Back in 2015, I attempted to make an MLB redesign topic that was pretty below-average. Now I believe I have a solid template and a better understanding of the history of the MLB, so I'm gonna get back at it again, and do it right. So first off, lets realign the MLB again: NL East: Atlanta Braves Miami Marlins New York Mets Washington Nationals NL North: Cincinnati Reds Montréal Expos Philadelphia Phillies Pittsburgh Pirates NL Central: Chicago Cubs Colorado Rockies Milwaukee Brewers St. Louis Cardinals NL West: Arizona Diamondbacks Los Angeles Dodgers San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants AL East: Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Tampa Bay Rays AL North: Detroit Tigers Cleveland Indians Minnesota Twins Toronto Blue Jays AL Central: Chicago White Sox Houston Astros Kansas City Royals Texas Rangers AL West: Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Portland Pioneers Sweet and simple 32 team realignment. I hope you guys like what I've got in store concept-wise.
  15. I posted an NFL concept series like this three years ago but I don't believe I ever finished it. I've been updating a few of my concepts recently though and thought I'd make it a complete series. First up Tampa Bay and Tennessee. With Tampa Bay I just want to invite more red on to their road jerseys as well as make the alarm clock numbers look a little less like alarm clock numbers. I was excited when I heard Tennessee were getting new uniforms but I think they tweaked too much. They do need to modernise the shoulder yoke but Columbia blue suits them better than navy and white helmets look better than navy ones. Used a bolder number font too. Updated list: Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins New England Patriots (V.2) Baltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Denver Broncos Kansas City Chiefs Oakland Raiders Dallas Cowboys Atlanta Falcons Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers Arizona Cardinals LA Rams San Francisco 49ers Seattle Seahawks (V.2)
  16. To kick this series off, I'm going with the Dolphins, Titans and Jaguars since those are the teams that will soon unveil new designs in the real world. (Please hold template requests, I will provide at end of the series in SVG format) THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE BY BRAVE-BIRD 08 MIAMI DOLPHINS For Miami I wanted to focus on using layers of white and dark grey to mimic an actual dolphin, while letting a more vibrant teal and shade of orange pop off the uniform. I've seen a lot of Miami concepts in the past use the sunburst as a focal point of the design, so I wanted to go in a different direction and use the swooping feel of the logo to tie the look together. The helmet is much more modern iteration, while the pants are intended to echo the feel of the helmet as well. ALTERNATES ONE | ALTERNATES TWO | ALTERNATES THREE Thanks for viewing! Next up: Tennessee Titans
  17. Breakdown of how this thread will work: Each division will be revealed one at a time. Teams will be seeded (and uniforms revealed) as they stand in the division as of 3/12/18. 2 teams will be revealed each day as we lead up to the beginning of the NHL playoffs. Once every team's uniform within a division is unveiled, a Top-3 vote will commence among the viewers of this thread. Voting will be open for 48-hours. A #1 overall vote will be worth 3 points, #2 vote worth 2 points, and #3 vote worth 1 point Once votes are casted for each division and are determined final, the team with the most awarded points will advance to the Final Four. In the event of a tie, tiebreaker will be the amount of #1 votes received. After the four division winners are determined, a new set of alternate uniforms will be unveiled Teams will be re-seeded according to how many points they received in the preliminary round Voting will then commence to determine which teams advance to the March Madness Final, and the two winning teams will be put up for a vote to determine the champion. For reference, here are the standings from 3/12/18 so you are aware of the original seeding: We will begin with unveiling the Central Division! #1 Seed: Nashville Predators #2 Seed: Winnipeg Jets As always, C&C is appreciated (all teams are completed fwiw). Let the madness begin!
  18. I just finished looking through that thread that was where everyone posted a fictional college, the Sportslogos College Athletic Association. While that was brilliant, it is dead. I intend to restart it under a different name. Same format, Name, nickname, location, colors, logo, fun facts, background under, but no rule on the metro cities. I have an idea so I'll start. It's visually a little rushed plus it's in paint. I'll work on it. Name: Julio Lobo University (Universidad de Julio Lobo) Nickname: Reyes (Kings) Location: Miami, FL Colors: Red and Blue of the Cuban flag and royal Purple. https://imgur.com/n9yqkTS In this timeline, Cuban sugar mogul Julio Lobo's fateful October 11, 1960 meeting with Ernesto "Che" Guevara results in Lobo fleeing to Miami, but he found a way to get his money through. Lobo, ever the philanthropist, founded Universidad de Julio Lobo in 1963. It was, and continues to be mostly for business, as Lobo was a great businessman. There is also a large agricultural component, again connected to the founding by Lobo, a sugar mogul. Sports came soon. Lobo being from Latin America, soccer and baseball were obviously first, but they were quickly followed by football, basketball, tennis, golf, and any other sport I may be missing, except ice hockey. There's field hockey, but it's Miami. No ice hockey. Lacrosse recently came in newer. The teams were named Los Reyes as a reference to Lobo's nickname, "El Rey de Azucar de Havana" (The Sugar King of Havana). They generally started going more by the English names in the 1980s, but the Spanish names are the official names. As it is a newer school, they are somewhat light on traditions, but that does not stop the student body of around 20,000 from packing Estadio Montalvo (another rich Cuban family Lobo married into) on Saturdays for the football games.
  19. NCAA(for now) basketball court designs are on this page! These are just my designs, and I am wanting some feedback, along with some help. I will be uploading courts of mine and my friends. Without further or do, lets dive into these courts! Shoutouts to: @slapshot @CheeseBurger22 @CinnamonRoll21 @edjb93 @officeglenn @Jake3.roo @kodrinsky @HRC4 @Clintau24 @dakotapalm @BellaSpurs *The template I use is not mine. All credit goes to DarthBrooks for the template.*
  20. Hey guys, just decided to show off some of my concepts I have been working on for quite some time! Link to each team (Completed teams in bold): NL: Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, Reds, Pirates | Mets, Braves, Nationals, Marlins, Phillies | Dodgers, Giants, Padres, Rockies, Diamondbacks AL: Royals, White Sox, Twins, Tigers, Indians | Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Orioles, Stingrays | Mariners, Rangers, Astros, Athletics, Angels I'm a fan of classic uniforms and respecting tradition, but I definitely feel like modern elements have their own niche in uniform design. Modern can look great if done well, and not over-designed! To get started... First team up, the St. Louis Cardinals! Here is the logo package: The home uniforms are true classics, and are untouched--hands down one of my favorite uniforms in the big leagues. The away uniforms are slightly changed, with "St. Louis" being on the front of the road greys, and a navy cap with a red button and bill--harkening back to the 1940's and 1950's. The throwback uniforms are those worn by the very successful Cardinals teams of the "Gas House Gang" era. These will be worn on Sunday afternoons.
  21. So I was looking at some NFL uniforms today, and the idea popped in my head, what if the NFL allowed teams to put ads on their uniforms. This could be a very real possiblitily in the near future, so I decided to whip up a quick concept of it potentially. This post is not my best work, I just wanted to get the idea across to everyone. For this I went very Boston by putting Dunkin' Donuts on the Patriots home uniform. Tell me your thoughts down below, and if you would like me to do this for any other teams. Thanks. The Vision: I wanted to see what an NFL uniform would look like with an ad on it. Quote: "Ads can produce a large amount of income, but is it worth it to hurt your identity potentially?" -Kong Tom
  22. Hi Guys, its my first thread on these boards after I have been a long time lurker. Love the whole idea of concepts/re-designs so i thought i would do most of the NBA, Some jerseys are awesome this season...some not so. Like i said i will be doing most teams so i will update as i go along FIRST UP IS THE BULLS. Got some inspiration for the white & red jerseys from the current Timberwolves jerseys (i love them) Thought i would keep the traditional bulls red. black & white scheme going throughout and the fade in the background. The black jersey incorporates the classic red pinstripe from the Jordan era....this one is my fave out of the trio. Any feedback would be great.
  23. Here is my very first concept I have created. My vision was to give my take on the most classic jersey in the MLB, the New York Yankees. I have dubbed my concept as "Yankees Evolved". I would appreciate honest feedback on these. I plan on updating this thread. If you want my take on a certain team, just comment down below. Thanks.
