Didn't see an existing thread, but don't want this update to get lost in the megathread. We've known for a while that DC United was getting a new badge, but it's just been leaked. For comparison, here are their two old badges, 1996-98 and 1999-2015: Couple things to love - the DC flag, the new typeface, the way the name is actually integrated with the shield instead of being slapped over it. I'm also glad they got rid of the truncated icosahedron. The wings are still a little goofy but it's so much better than the original Germanic eagle. That makes me wonder what this "leak" was; rejected design, intermediate step, or outright fake? I prefer the eagle from this version, with the sharp wings and contrasting beak. Not to mention the sharp edges where the white head feathers meet the body - don't love the circular version they went with. Overall, great update. MLS is looking better all the time. Now if we can just do something about the (ugh) Revolution....
I've been working on putting together some uniform concepts for the entire MLS, and now that some of the actual jerseys are leaking with some similar design ideas, I thought I better start posting them so I don't look like a total copycat. I'll post them in alphabetical order periodically, as I finish them. I'd welcome any feedback. Chicago Fire Colorado Rapids Columbus Crew DC United FC Dallas Houston Dynamo LA Galaxy Montreal Impact New England Revolution New York City FC New York Red Bulls Orlando City Philadelphia Union --- First off is the Chicago Fire. I wanted to return to a more traditional treatment of their kits, using the concaving chest stripe. I've taken cues from the Chicago flag to create a tonal pattern on both jerseys and the coloration of the away kit. While it's far from a unique idea (as evidence by their leaked away jersey for the upcoming season), I think it's the most iconic look they've ever had, and I anticipate it would continue to resonate with the civic pride of their fanbase.
North America Soccer Concept Series (2025) By: Saathoff This series will feature leagues in North America. The US & Canada to be exact. Each league will consist of 24 teams. MLS is still the top tier league. I will use all the current team logos, or them being recolored. If you've designed a concept logo for an MLS expansion team and want me to use it in a concept I'd be more than happy to do so! MLS will now use a one table system. The US and Canada will now use a relegation and promotion system. However there will only be 1 automatic promotion spot. 2-3 spots will play a two legged playoff against the 22nd and 23rd place team in the league above TEAMS: Chicago Fire FC Dallas New York City FC
