  1. The Brampton Beast IMO have one of the better logosets in the ECHL, but their jerseys leave a lot to be desired, specifically the white and gray colours blending into each other. i tried to fix this by incorporating a new striping pattern removing white and gray from each other, while still maintaining the same colour balance. The yoke has both striping and an outline to retain some minor league aesthetic. C&C is appreciated!
  2. So last week I saw on the main page that there was going to be a new ECHL team in Newfoundland called the Growlers so I thought sure why not try it. When I logged on today I saw that the logo has already been decided but still wanted to share my idea. My dog is much more cartoonish than there logo. Also the pattern behind it is the flag of Newfoundland. Please let me know what you think and if any modifications to make it better is needed.
  3. Taking a small break from my New Look series to post this. Over at HJC, they recently had a Toledo Walleye Redesign Comp, and this was my entry. IMO the walleye have one of the best minor league identities in sports, so I didn't change too much. I kept the navy cuffs/hem on both jerseys, but made the striping pattern more traditional, but with a minor league feel. there are yokes on both jerseys, and I used the realistic-looking walleye as the main crest. The double-hook logo is on the shoulders. Not much else to say. C&C welcome.
  4. So I'm pretty well near the end of my OHL series so I figured I'd hop right into something new. Instead of posting random concepts out of order like last time, I will be going alphabetically. I'll be using a combination of the Sportslogos Edge template and the HJC "Random Equipment" template (not sure who created each of the elements). This is my first time using equipment in my concept so if anyone has any tips please let me know. Up first we have the Adirondack Thunder. I used an edited version of the wordmark for the shoulder logo on the home and away, and for the alternate as well.
  5. Let me start by stating that I did not create this directly for the Toledo Walleye, I created it as just a walleye graphic and thought I'd try it for the them. In this application though I'm not sure if I'd want the white or light blue outline.
  6. Hi everyone! I'm currently working on a series to cover all ECHL teams with a new main set and most of them with a third aswell. I am using the same template for all of the designs and presentation will be pretty similar along the series aswell. I use the current CCM and league branding. As this is a work in process and not everything is finished yet, I expect this series to take a few weeks time. It also allows me to consider all the feedback and make the following concepts better. So don't hold back with opinions. I hope everyone enjoys this series as much as I do. First up is Adirondack. I tried to make it show the affiliation to the Flames without being a straight copy. It's also supposed to show off the name "Thunder". For the 3rd I decided to lose the red. I know some people say you can't drop the main colour or change the colour of the logo but in my opinion that's what a 3rd jersey is for. To try out something new, something different from the usual. And that's exactly what I did here.
  7. Here's my stab at the SC Stingrays Anniversary Logo Contest being run by Icethetics, thoughts?
  8. Hey Guys! Today I have a logo design for a hockey team named Scranton Storm. Just a cool logo I wanted to see come to life. Now, if you notice, the lightning bolt looks like an "S," for Scranton. The shield behind the bolt is just to make the logo feel more complete. I have a Home and Away jersey to see how that would look. I hope you guys like this one! Logo: Jersey: C&C Welcome!
  9. I was planning to do an entire ECHL redesign, but I couldn't find enough creativity/motivation to do every team, so here's the few I did do. ALASKA ACES: (Home/Away) COLORADO EAGLES: (Home/Away) FORT WAYNE KOMETS: (Home/Away) GREENVILLE SWAMP RABITTS: (Home/Away) INDY FUEL: (Home/Away/Alternate) ORLANDO SOLAR BEARS: (Home/Away/Alternate) TOLEDO WALLEYE: (Home/Away/Alternate) UTAH GRIZZLIES: (Home/Away) Tell me what you think! I doubt I'll make any changes, however, due to other projects I've taken on and a lack of motivation for this. Thanks, though! Template credits to @timberwolf
  10. This is my concept for the Coyotes ECHL and AHL affiliates For the AHL the Tucson Gila Monsters For the ECHL the Arizona (Prescott Valley) RoadRunners
  11. Say hello to the Railers http://echl.com/worcester-unveils-name-logo-p201963
  12. I was making this for the HJC redesign contest they have going on. Unfortunately, I had a computer issue and missed the deadline. C&C welcomed
  13. Here's a little jersey that i experimented with. I used gradients on the whole jersey. Here it is:
  14. double topic. My bad
  15. Had this idea for a four uniform set for the newly re-christened Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The Home Alternate is modeled after the New York Rangers being that is their NHL affiliate and that they have worn a Rangers inspired alternate in the Rangers colors but having the Road Warriors logos. I made the First Season patch with an alternate logo from the team. All logos are from either Sportslogos.net, hockeyjerseyconcepts.ca or the Greenville Swamp Rabbits site. The sponsor logo is from the Bon Sonour healthsystems site. Any and all comments welcome to help me fix any issues that are there before i submit them to Hockeyjerseyconcepts
  16. For my first concept, I decided to fix-up the NHL-AHL-ECHL Affiliation program. I got a little carried away, but there is 36 teams per league. All NHL Teams are the same (besides jerseys) besides: Arizona Coyotes-Moved to Las Vegas, Las Vegas Coyotes. Expansion: Quebec Nordiques, Oakland Seals, Hartford Whalers, Cleveland Barons, Seattle Metropolitans, and the Kansas City Scouts. For my first 3 jerseys, I have the Anaheim Ducks, for these jerseys, I kept the first 2 simple, without striping, and the 3rd has a stripe in there (excuse me if the numbers or letters aren't aligned, I mightn't messed up). 72freebie really helped me on these, so thanks! C&C appreicated. Here they are: I found out that the numbers on Anaheim's Alternate are too low, sorry.
  17. Am I the only one that sees a problem with this website? This is not a fantasy league, nor a community team, the guy runs a legitimate hockey business with this logo....
  18. I figured that I'd start a new thread documenting the changes in minor-league hockey for the coming season. I'll start off with the team in my backyard, the Utah Grizzlies, who debuted copper (burnt orange?) uniforms, based on the diagonal "UTAH" black and green uniforms from 2011, in their season opener last night (took me by surprise): Other than the lack of green (copper/burnt orange and black isn't a bad combo, mind you, but the Utah Grizzlies are green first), contrasting nameplates, and copy-and-paste number font, I like these. I wonder, though, if the numbers on the set will be the based on Anaheim's as well. Anyways, feel free to post any changes
  19. Today the ECHL announced the acceptance of 7 membership applications from former Central Hockey League franchises the Allen Americans, Quad City Mallards, Tulsa Oilers, Missouri Mavericks, Brampton Beast, Wichita Thunder, and the Rapid City Rush. The seven new expansion teams will begin play in the ECHL this season, giving the League 28 teams in 20 states and one Canadian province for its 27th season of operation, which begins on Friday, Oct. 17 and runs through Saturday, April 11. Statement from the League commissioner Brian McKenna regarding the new additions. “The ECHL is very pleased to welcome these new Members to the League. These additions strengthen our base in the center of the country and give the ECHL, for the first time, a true national presence. It expands our ability to act as a development league and more closely aligns our number of teams with both the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League. There will be logistical challenges in the short term, however, in the long term, it is certainly in the best interest of the ECHL, the new Members and minor-league hockey in general.” from the article featured on echl.com The logos of the 7 new teams. Updated ECHL team logo page. It was no secret that the Central Hockey League was in dire straights financially over the last few seasons as numerous teams jumped ship left and right. With the league preparing to cease operations they worked very hard to workout this last minute merger agreement with the ECHL to save the CHL franchises from extinction. Also, FWIW, earlier this past summer when rumors broke about this ECHL+CHL merger negotiations, another rumor broke stating that 2-3 ECHL teams may join the AHL for the 2015-16 season. The team names that were mentioned in the rumor were the Bakersfield Condors and the Ontario Reign.
  20. This kind of came out of the blue publicly, but was a long time coming behind closed doors. The San Francisco Bulls, the San Jose Sharks ECHL affiliate, are on the verge of folding or moving, possibly as soon as next week. Apparently they lost a lot of money over the last two seasons due to unfavorable lease terms and far lower than expected attendance and losses. The current owners have a deal to sell the Bulls to a new ownership group who intend to move them to either Oracle Arena in Oakland or to Save Mart Center in Fresno. The former seems unlikely as the Warriors have refusal rights on any other sports team tenants at Oracle Arena and they seem disinclined to share their arena space. The sale and move are dependent on ECHL's board voting on it next week. If it's not approved the Bulls will try to finish out the season in SF before folding but they need to find the cash to do so (having lost 2 million last year and they're on track to lose another 2 million this year). The Bulls entered the ECHL last season and have watched their attendance dwindle since opening day from over 8000 down to under 2000 a game good for dead last in the league. http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/S-F-Bulls-hockey-team-could-fold-or-move-soon-5160054.php
