  1. Hello everyone, I decided after the announcement of the USFL possibly coming back next year to put some thoughts into refreshing some of the old USFL team identities. Since the new league is aiming for 8 teams to start, I decided to choose 8 for the first run of the series, but if the demand is there I may expand to more teams. I don't have a good uniform template, so I'll be doing just logos and helmets for this series. These are the teams I'll be doing starting out: Page 1: Chicago Blitz - posted Denver Gold - posted Detroit Panthers (formerly Michigan) - posted Los Angeles Express - posted New Jersey Generals - posted & revised Page 2: Oakland Invaders - posted & revised Tampa Bay Bandits - posted Washington Federals - posted Revised Detroit Panthers - posted Page 3: Revised New Jersey Generals - posted Revised Tampa Bay Bandits - posted Arizona Wranglers - posted Birmingham Stallions - posted Page 4: Jacksonville Bulls - posted Philadelphia Stars - posted Revised Birmingham Stallions - posted Pittsburgh Maulers - posted San Antonio Gunslingers - posted Page 5: Revised Arizona Wranglers - posted Revised Oakland Invaders - posted Coming soon: Project-Wide Helmet Poster Here's my take on a new logo for the league itself to get started. I'll be sharing the teams in alphabetical order so Chicago will start things off with my next post.
  2. Greetings! With the NFL's decision to allow alternate helmets for throwback and color rush uniforms starting next year (great decision in my opinion!), I saw an article speculating on what the Houston Texans could do with the opportunity, and it inspired me to come up with an idea for that concept. This isn't anything revolutionary, but that wasn't the point. I recolored the Texans logo to use the colors of the old Houston Oilers, and designed the helmet around their old aesthetic. Whether the Titans would allow this, I'm not sure, but it does look pretty nice and I think it'd be a nice nod to the city's football past to roll out those old colors once in a while, especially with the Titans now using a color palette that isn't really much different from the Texans these days. Hope you all enjoy!
  3. Kent State football helmet concept.
  4. https://www.packers.com/news/packers-training-camp-memory-the-unveiling-of-the-g A neat article on the sudden unveiling of the Packers' G logo. Also included in the article is a link to when the shape was changed prior to the 1970 season.
  5. University at Buffalo Nickname: Bulls Colors: Royal Blue and White Current and past helmets and logos: Concept 1 Note: Altered and stretched the Bull logo across the front and sides of the helmet. Concept 2 Note: Used current Buffalo logos with non-traditional stripe placement.
  6. I am actually a civil engineer, but I've had an interest in graphic design since high school. When I was in college I was able to take a graphic design class where we had to create a fictitious company based on an essay we wrote. My essay was about the impacts of concussions on football players and other athletes, so my fictitious company manufactured football helmets. I chose the name "Rampage" based on the headbutts of big horn sheep. I produced the identity below (shown on some sample business cards), in addition to numerous other alternatives. After I showed off to @dsaline97, who is an actual designer, he said it would be a cool logo for the LA Rams. So I've come up with a few instances of how my concept could replace the existing helmet logos the Rams have. It wouldn't work on uniform elements, but I think it could look cool on apparel or print/digital graphics. It could also make for a nice Colorado State shirt. I like how the angle of this logo emphasizes forward motion, which was also important for my fictional company, and also hearkens back to the old Rams logos used from 1946-1982. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Criticism is welcome, but I won't be making any changes. Oh yeah, and I also got a t-shirt made on Cotton Bureau!
  7. This is a revisiting of a topic that has been dormant for quite some time due to images being removed by a 3rd party host. I now have a new 3rd party host and want to put this concept out there one more time. It was originally set up to be a collaborative work involving Mr. MJ Walker and myself but I am doing this on my own for now. If you want to come back on board Mr. Walker please reply I like your work and want to start by giving you credit for the uniform designing that you did. We start anew with the league shield concept that is based off of the musical "We Will Rock You" by Queen and Ben Elton Next are the 2 conference logo concepts. The NAC for North American Conference and the UKC for the United Kingdom Confere Let me know your thoughts.
  8. Hello, I am looking for some inspiration for developing a Helmet Decal for a local school. The team is called the railroaders and the only colors they use are blue and white. The Coach really wants the word railroaders to be incorporated somewhere in the design, I am not a huge fan of big script letters on helmets so I went with a think smaller block font. He also wants to ensure that people understand that railroaders are the people that worked on building the railroads not people who worked on trains, so I am debating doing some sort of mascot depicting a railroad worker. I guess I am looking for help in which way I should take this logo. It is not apart of a rebrand just simply redesigning the helmet logo because a new coach was hired. What they had in previous seasons is below. This is just a rough mock of what I think may look good any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!
  9. We've already had multiple threads about the best-looking uni matchups in Super Bowl history. With the conference title games upon us today, let's look at some of the best ALMOST Super Bowl matchups. The rules are: 1. Both teams were in their respective conference title games that season. 2. One or both lost said title games. 3. They have never played each other in a Super Bowl in any year. 4. The pic posted shows the most likely uniform matchup if they had played that year. Here are a few: Super Bowl XIV (1979 season) - Oilers vs. Buccaneers: Super Bowl XV (1980 season) among MANY others - Raiders vs. Cowboys (pic actually from 1980 season): Super Bowl XX (1985 season) - Dolphins vs. Bears (pic actually from 1985 season): Super Bowl XIV (1989 season) - Broncos vs. Rams: Super Bowl XXVIII (1993 season), the fourth time in a six-year span that both these teams were in their respective title games together; in fact, one or the other appeared in seven straight Super Bowls, but never both - Bills vs. 49ers:
