  1. Without too much background - long story short my friends and I have been celebrating our semi-personal holiday: Sandwich Day for 17 years (the first Sunday of every Nov - this year Nov 3 is actually national sandwich day). We rotate hosting and this year is in Albany. I create a logo every year since sandwich day 9. I’m down to the final design and debating between adding an accent color to the rose (NY state flower and homage to Albany’s logo). Love any and all feedback/vote.
  2. Announced at D23, Epcot is getting a full rebrand in logo and concept. But since this is only a logo/design page, here's the old vs new logo. I think it's a substantial improvement and looks far less dated. The company also revealed some overall branding changes, reviving old attraction logos and revealing 7 new ones as well in the same spirit:
  3. With Dallas and Nashville playing in the 2020 Winter Classic, I thought it was great that the NHL was allowing more "non-traditional" hockey markets Winter Classic games, so I started work on a Winter Classic logo for a game in Arizona. My 2022 Winter Classic logo is a simplified version of the National Park Service logo arrowhead which seemed appropriate considering where the game will be played. The background has been replaced with the sunbeams from the Arizona flag. The mountain has been replaced with Humphrey’s Peak, the highest point in Arizona, and the sequoia tree has been replaced with saguaro cacti in homage to the southwest. The “Winter” font is loosely based on the fonts used on National Parks signs, while the other text is based on signs found within national parks. I did a few other color combinations as well but I really think the red sky looks the best. For Arizona's jersey I decided to try something that hasn't been done before. I made a very simple crest but I moved it to the shoulder and helmet, allowing a very vintage collegiate look with the ARIZONA text on the chest with numbers. I also added the only good thing ever to come from the Buffalo "Buffaslug" days, and that is stitched numbers. For their opponent. I chose Vegas due to the developing rivalry in the desert. I had a problem with Vegas' logo though since it is so new, so I attempted a fauxback crest. I tried to make it look like their current logo could have evolved from this but if I am honest, I think it still needs some work. Do you guys think I am on the right track here? C+C are always appreciated
  4. Hey Guys! It's been awhile. Today I present a concept for the Marywood University Pacers. I drive past this school everyday and I wonder if they could have gone in a different direction. Here is my attempt. Let me know what you think! As always C&C welcome!
  5. Just released today. Here it is. Any thoughts?
  6. Disney unveiled a new logo for what will likely become their most popular theme park after years of upgrades. I like it, but what do you think? Old: New:

    Eagle Logo

I started out trying to get create an eagle logo just to see how I'd do, also I think in my head I wanted to see if I could update my HS alma mater's eagle logo, which I think is somewhat outdated. Now, I don't usually post anything except the final product, but I've decided to post the progression on how I ended up on with the current logo I guess as a reference to see how I got from point A to point B. First the progression chart, left to right. I noticed the shade of blue is off as well, I really have a hard time picking a color blue, because I like pretty much every shade of blue. And now, the current logo: I think because my HS alma mater has an blue and white eagle head on a golden yellow helmet I prefer the eagle head without the gold outline. I do think this logo would be a good update, that is if they ever decided to go from the logo they've used since I can remember. I'll see if I can find the logo they currently use. Note: One thing I noticed when designing this is that when creating an original, from scratch eagle head logo and have it look different enough from other designs isn't necessarily hard, but it's not all that easy either.
  8. I am working on a project. I redesign some old NBA All-Star Game logos. In this case I did Teo versions. One in the original logo, whit NBA logo colors. I also did one version with the Dallas Mavericks logo colors st the time the game took place. The red and blue are my favorite. And feels more All-Star in my opinion. Let me know what you think
  9. Personal Project: Panther 3.0 ••• Keeping to tradition, the panther holds true to the stance and triangular shape of past designs. This concept combines sloping contours and sharp edges, creating a sleek, yet aggressive mark. A central goal for this mark was to account for major identifiable elements of the animal itself. This is accomplished by the addition of whiskers, a white muzzle, and a pronounced triangular nose. Also, the implementation of more gold within the panther brings truth to why the school color was chosen initially, because of how well it represents the animal. In Western society, we read left to right. The new right-facing pose leads to exemplify the psychological effect of moving in the right direction. With a vigilant stance, the noble panther reigns.
  10. It's been entirely too long, CCSLC. How I've missed partaking here.. back after a few quieter years of browsing through. https://www.behance.net/gallery/76186641/Branding-Brooklyn-Jam Teaser image: For those of you that don't know me, I joined this board when I was all of 17 (almost 32 now)... and was part of a select assortment of designers, that started their careers on concepts made in MS Paint, (yes that MS Paint, in all of its pixelated nostalgia). Gained so much knowledge here, not just at the level of sports branding, but design in general. It's great to see how far Chris has brought this endeavor. I'd like to update you all with a recent project, involving the development of a charity basketball tournament, taking place annually in Brooklyn, NY, at the infamous Basketball City (2017) as well as Sportika Sports (2018). The tourney, in addition to a series of five-on-five games leading to a championship, for boys' in their junior high-high school years, boasts a robust dunk contest, featuring dunkers from TNT's Dunk King, and many guest appearances from current NBA players, and NY basketball legends (Charles Oakley, Larry Johnson, John Starks, Kyle O'Quinn, and Quincy Acy, to name a few). I've recently added the project to my Behance portfolio, and would like to share here. This, paired with the 2014 NBA Summer League design internship, were the closest I've come to professional sports branding. There's a project also on my Behance, dedicate to this intthat displays some of the creative from that year's Summer League, where I interned through the entirety of the 2-week rookie-packed event, as lead designer, in Las Vegas: https://www.behance.net/gallery/18595973/Designing-the-2014-NBA-Summer-League. (This page in my portfolio needs some serious updating, as I did with the Brooklyn Jam, but still shows the greater parts of the project. I've got more work to share, and I hope to be posting over the next few weeks, in tandem with updating my portfolios. I hope everyone from the days of yesteryear are doing well; designing and thriving. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!! Bonus content: MY OLD WEBSITE containing all of the MS PAINT madness!! Enjoy!! http://www.angelfire.com/va3/logoandunifrmconcpts/ **I admit that I've slacked tremendously on updating the NBA uniforms section of the site; most of which I created the images of each, currently on display. I have aspirations to jump back in this, though its a tedious task--I'd surely benefit from a team that could split some time on updating it. With all of the new Nike unis, its sure to be a heavy (but fun) lift.
  11. I am actually a civil engineer, but I've had an interest in graphic design since high school. When I was in college I was able to take a graphic design class where we had to create a fictitious company based on an essay we wrote. My essay was about the impacts of concussions on football players and other athletes, so my fictitious company manufactured football helmets. I chose the name "Rampage" based on the headbutts of big horn sheep. I produced the identity below (shown on some sample business cards), in addition to numerous other alternatives. After I showed off to @dsaline97, who is an actual designer, he said it would be a cool logo for the LA Rams. So I've come up with a few instances of how my concept could replace the existing helmet logos the Rams have. It wouldn't work on uniform elements, but I think it could look cool on apparel or print/digital graphics. It could also make for a nice Colorado State shirt. I like how the angle of this logo emphasizes forward motion, which was also important for my fictional company, and also hearkens back to the old Rams logos used from 1946-1982. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Criticism is welcome, but I won't be making any changes. Oh yeah, and I also got a t-shirt made on Cotton Bureau!
  12. The bear logo for the Chicago bears needs an update for HD, so in keeping with my previous NFL logo updates (Denver, Arizona, Baltimore) here are Da Bears: On "C" 2 Color:
  13. The Falcons are overdue for a fresh look. In my opinion, their old look wasn't a bad one, but Arthur Blank wanted to forge a new winning identity, so I get why the brand was changed. It's unfortunate that such a classic and strong logo had to fall victim to association to decades of losing. My idea is to go back to the old branding, but not all the way. I kept the current forward tilt of the current logo, as well as the aggressive bird's eye and overall feel to the classic logo. I did some styling to the wing feathers for a more aerodynamic look, and updated the bird's head and beak to look more like a bird of prey than the old, docile head of the classic logo. I may play around with helmet/uniform concepts along this line, so stay tuned! Here are the old and current logos for reference:
  14. Hello! Im just posting this concept for the NBA. I honestly think the NBA should expand to 32 teams. Feel free to comment!
  15. I made an update concept of an old favorite logo. I thought it was too much things going on in the old version. so i cleaned it up. i took the font on the crown and used it as a main font for the logo

Hey Guys! I have returned to the forums to announce the Northeastern Pennsylvania Hockey League. The NPHL is a group of dedicated hockey fans that want to play in a league but there is just one problem...they can't skate! So we decided to play a form of "Dek Hockey" on outside basketball courts. 3 on 3, no goalies, street puck, and we use the small skill nets for a goal. The uniforms will consist of a T-shirt, basketball shorts and hockey gloves. (And obviously sticks!) The NPHL will premiere the Summer of 2019 and right now we are in the phase of coming up with the team names. We have TWO teams as of right now and we would like to have about SIX. Hopefully as this thread goes on we will create a phenomenal looking league with the help of CCSLC! Alright! Up first is the League Logo. Its is the state of Pennsylvania with a hockey stick in negative space. The tip of the hockey blade is touching North East Pennsylvania. https://imgur.com/a/yt0Sz As Always, C&C is Welcome! Hope You Guys Like This One! Spoiler: The LAKE ARIEL STAGS are next!
  17. A while ago I saw a project on Behance that really inspired me to maybe start a similar project. This is the link of the one I saw: https://www.behance.net/gallery/35060175/Reform-Redesigned-Logos Muskat is a wonderfully creative team of two designers from Germany and lets say I started following them ever since I first glanced at their projects. They focused on German brands and stores, making them look better, I on the other hand, will focus on the stores I see in my town of Zagreb, no matter what country a brand comes from. I just might put in a Croatian one, maybe... Sooooo, long story short, I started with Müller, a German trade company that basically sells everything from perfumes to cosmetics, from notebooks and pens to toys (lots and lots of toys). Lets say they are part one of my project. https://dribbble.com/shots/2857281-M-ller <--------dribbble link I hope you leave a like and a comment. Thank you! EDIT: The image is a GIF, so if you click it you'll see the logo on different color backgrounds.
  18. Hello! My first post here and of course would love to hear your thoughts. I'm slowly becoming a niners fan?? but their current logo just doesn't do it for me so I had to do something. It's just looks very dated to me. Anyways, I also played around with some wordmarks to go with it, but figured I'd get the general idea out there first to see if there was any interest. Check it out and, please, let me know what you think! Thanks!
  19. Which logo do you prefer? The classic 1976 logo or the more modern and updated logo from the 2000s-present?
  20. Below is the outline of a concept I've been working on for an alternate timeline story I've been writing. The timeline mostly deals with an expanded exploration program for NASA in the last half of the 20th century. One of the things that I've been using to color the timeline is alternative team names and locations within American sports. On this front, instead of the failed XFL franchise, in my timeline, the XFL instead rides a wave of post-9/11 patriotism to create a football league with a military theme. Called Warball, the sport openly embraces the quasi-military themes of football (see George Carlin for further insights) and seeks to appeal to a hyper-masculine fanbase. Initially the league forms with 8 teams in 2 conferences Freedom Division Patriot Division Capital Warriors Seattle Stealth New York Heroes Alcatraz Guards Texas Assault Coronado Destroyers Chicago Shield Arizona Generals Teams are composed of 7 players on the field at any time. The field is 60 yards endzone-to-endzone. Endzones are 7.5 yards deep with curved corners. Field is bounded by 20 degree inclines 5 yards wide which are inbounds. Beyond the inclines are hockey rink walls. A ballcarrier cannot run out of bounds and must be tackled or score for the play to end. Any player on the field is considered an eligible receiver. Kicking of any kind has been eliminated. Teams have 6 downs to advance from their own 10 yard line to the opposing endzone. Touchdowns are worth 5 points. After a touchdown, a team is allowed to try a conversion play from the 3-yard line. A conversion by pass is worth 2 points. A conversion by run is worth 1 point. Two 20 minute halves are separated by a 10-minute halftime. Teams have 20 seconds to begin the next play. The clock does not run unless the ball is in play. Teams are required to have at least one starting player who is a current or former member of the United States military, and/or a civilian police, fire or paramedic service. Questions, comments, suggestions? I invite all of the above. This is my first league concepts, so, please, rip me apart here. I'll learn from everything that is said.
  21. Personally I think the Rams are sporting their best logo that they've ever had, (compared to their generic helmet logos and that weirdly-detailed 50-60s Ram head) although some fans dislike it due to its association with St. Louis. Their current logo still managed to look timeless and modern after 18 years...
  22. I thought the Bullets old jerseys were a bit too messy. and that their 90's jerseys were too red and unpleasant for the eyes. so I tried to do something in between. Their court I thought had far too much empty space and too small logos. so I pulled them up a bit. and I fixed some angels on the primary logo.
  23. My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407
