  3. I just posted this on my blog, but in case you don't want to go over there to read it, I'll copy-and-paste it here: ...I threw together a few simple graphics for the final four NFL teams in this weekend's Conference Championship games. These display the four teams' (Denver, New England, San Francisco and Seattle) primary marks using PANTONE's Color of the Year for 2014 - 18-3224 "Radiant Orchid". I utilized the "TPX" substrate - which reflects textile colors on paper, and converted these logos into proper grayscale format, and then applied various tints of Radiant Orchid to the individual color elements to produce the end-result. Here are the four teams in tints of 18-3224 TPX "Radiant Orchid": Just a silly thing I put together for the heck of it. Mindless, but mostly an exercise in recoloring existing logos...
  4. Marsala! I for one have always been a big fan of wine-like colors. What do you guys think?
  5. Good day, I was wondering if there is a website or free software that you can compare an Inkscape color (00AA00FF) and be given the equivalent Pantone color. The only reason I'm asking is for the designing of concept clubs here on the Board and would like to add the franchise colors to the club concept as well. Thanks everyone!
  6. Pantone Reveals Color of the Year for 2014: PANTONE 18-3224 Radiant Orchid Here are some samples of this color: Cotton: Paper: Color details - Cotton: Paper: ...and all of the "Color of the Year" winners... Cotton: ] Paper:
  7. I've been working on a new project - generating individual color swatch images for all clubs in the "major" sports leagues - MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, etc. So far, I've gotten the NBA and NHL completed; and have made significant progress on the MLB. These individual images will help with the various color-to-color comparisons we're debating from time to time. For example: As you can see, I list the team name, the color description, and the time-frame used. If a color is an estimate (i.e., not from a confirmed Pantone value), the color description will be followed by an asterisk ('*'). I'll update this thread as I get individual leagues completed.
  8. I thought I'd share some of my own color palette proposals for some of the various teams in sports... Arizona Cardinals: Dallas Cowboys: Seattle Seahawks:
  9. I found this interesting test while on StumbleUpon and decided to take it. I think I did pretty good, and I'd like to see where I compare to some of you other guys out there. It's graded out of 100 where the lower the score, the better. Here are my results. Post yours as well! My score: 11/100 EDIT: Whoops, forgot the link. CS85 provided it below, but here it is anyway:
  10. OK - I'm starting a new topic because I've decided on my blog to present sRGB-optimized graphics as a whole rather than a season at a time. And since I'm finding myself jumping from team to league to sport all of the time, instead of posting an entire league for a particular season, I'll just pick a franchise and post everything I have for them. Of course for a lot of these teams, I won't have every logo or mark they've ever used, but I might have a significant collection of them to show. First up in this sort-of-new concept is the Minnesota Wild: I've got the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks pretty much ready to go...let me know what other franchises you'd like to see and I'll try to prioritize them.
