  1. The Sounders released their new logo, and it's pretty nice! The real thing is a big improvement on our previous MLS-era logo, but it could use a couple more elements and some minor tweaks IMO. So I did my twist on it, and while I'm at it, I'll post some old Sounders logo & jersey concepts that I've put on my website but haven't posted here before. They will each be paired with synergistic Reign logos, especially relevant as the upcoming sale of the NWSL team might go to their MLS co-tenants. As usual for my Sounders & Reign concepts, all logos will have color variations to show all the color schemes used by each team's alternate jerseys, retro color schemes, and holiday color schemes for July 4th, Pride Month, and Cascadia Day. Also, the numbers of the concepts are in chronological order of when I started making them, not posting order. I'll link to each of the concepts with the icons below as I post them: Outtakes and Extras: Thanks for checking it out!
  2. The new IRL logo for the Seattle Dragons of the XFL is an big upgrade from the previous, IMO, but here are my tweaks, plus a new alternate logo and some jerseys! The rendering of the dragon face is so well-done in the '23 logo, so that's kept. The odd random spikes of the mane kinda ruin the S shape IMO, so those are removed in favor of a more streamlined, symmetrical S shape. I liked the counter-colored belly on the 2020 logo, so I bring that back but in white and with the belly stripes of the '23 logo. I do like the patterned striping and number styling of the '23 jerseys, but I cannot get on board with a Seattle team not wearing primarily blue or green. I think the Dragons had it almost right with their 2020 home jersey; having just that small touch of orange shoulder trim was gorgeous! I bring back a lot of those jerseys' ideas for my take. Instead of a complete logo like on the '23 uniforms, the helmet has the dragon bursting from the edges like on the '20 uniforms; this time on a blue background. That orange trim becomes a pair of flames, which also form a negative space silhouette of mountains in front of a sunset, all above a sea of green. This is also the basis of a new football-shaped secondary logo. C&C appreciated! Thanks for checking it out!
  3. With Nike having recently released the Royals' City Connect uniform, there are now 10 MLB teams with designs under this special range. However, Nike seem to be taking their time with the releases, and the Mariners are still not in the horizon. Therefore, I decided make a concept design for the M's: As you can see, the design is clearly inspired by the Psychedelic Rock poster style from the 60's. This take might not be new, since last season the Sounders released an away kit also inspired by Jimi Hendrix, but I think it's such an unique theme which could set the design apart from the other teams'. I combined the psychedelic style with the city nickname: "Emerald City". Since that name comes from the nature which surrounds Seattle, I went for lime green and volt yellow, which are inspired by the look of Seattle outskirts in Autumn, when leaves turn from green into yellow, under the aforementioned approach. To complete the jersey, I also added the city seal as sleeve patch, and "EC" as jocktag. Here's a simple moodboard which sums up the inspirations behind the design: Props to @AusGiant, whose SVG version of Nike's MLB base I used to create a Paint template. I hope you all like it! Feedback is more than welcome.
