  1. Following the Super Bowl, a blend of work-from-home malaise and a regular loop of Full Color Football and other old NFL Films compilations on YouTube got me thinking about an intriguing idea. AFL fan and historian Ange Coniglio suggested the following: what if instead of the AFL being absorbed into the NFL in the 1970 merger the two leagues had unified on an equal, but separate footing to form something akin to Major League Baseball? And thus the idea for Major League Football was born. This basically just gave me the excuse to take a stab at football uniforms for the first time in a retro context. So this series will include all NFL teams with following loose guidelines (don't apply too much logic to these): All 32 NFL teams will be represented with their current geographic location and franchise name, except for Washington which will get an original name and look. There is no AFC or NFC. The original AFL and NFL league names are retained. The Steelers, Colts and Ravens (by virtue of being the original Browns) remain in the NFL with the other original 13 teams. Any expansion teams post 1970 join the original AFL teams (I know, this would leave the AFL at an imbalance with the NFL until 2002 - this is just a thought experiment). All uniforms are rendered in a 1960's era aesthetic for consistency, simplicity and to actually provide some sleeve space to work with. I won't claim every design is overhauled from scratch. There are some uniforms that are too iconic to not replicate. Others are a blend of colors and elements from different eras of a franchise. For some teams it's simply me representing their "best of" visual identity. Some are fauxback designs for franchises that never existed in the 60's. At the very least, I tried to add one unique element to each set, even if it's only an alternate logo. So without further ado, here's the Major League Football series...
  2. Now that I've finished my NFL series, I thought I'd take on something new: NCAA Division 1 football. Vastly bigger (and way more fun) than the NFL. I'll be working my way through the Power 5 conferences, with some Group of Five/Independents thrown in the mix as I get to them. Hoping to do 2-3 per week. In no particular order: ACC Boston College | Clemson v2.0| Duke | Florida State | Georgia Tech | Louisville | Miami | North Carolina | NC State | Pittsburgh | Syracuse | Virginia | Virginia Tech | Wake Forest Big Ten Illinois | Indiana | Iowa | Maryland v2.0 | Michigan | Michigan State v2.0| Minnesota | Nebraska | Northwestern | Ohio State | Penn State | Purdue | Rutgers | Wisconsin Big 12 Baylor | Iowa State | Kansas | Kansas State | Oklahoma | Oklahoma State | TCU | Texas | Texas Tech | West Virginia Pac-12 Arizona | Arizona State | California | Colorado | Oregon | Oregon State | Stanford | UCLA | USC | Utah | Washington | Washington State SEC Alabama | Arkansas | Auburn | Florida | Georgia | Kentucky | LSU | Ole Miss | Mississippi State | Missouri | South Carolina | Tennessee | Texas A&M | Vanderbilt Group of Five/Independents UCF | Notre Dame Comments/feedback welcome!

  4. For the 2020 MLB season, I decided to create some Nike MLB jersey concepts for Players' Weekend using the new Nike Baseball Jersey template. I wanted to create something unique with these jerseys. I used a lot of alternate colors and alternate logos on the jerseys, and made fauxbacks for some teams as well. If you are wondering why the Mets are black and pink, it is because when they were formed they were supposed to be black and pink. I'm not entirely happy with the Rockies, Rays, and Astros. For the Rockies I didn't really have any ideas for, while the Astros and Rays jerseys didn't come out as well as I thought they would. Thanks for viewing.
  5. I decided to do a Nike MLB Uniform Refresh, some teams will get total rebrands, some will have altered colors, some will have new alternates, or get new throwbacks. Visit my Behance to see my other sports designs: https://www.behance.net/ianrasovsky For the diamondbacks, I updated the home and away uniforms by replacing the sand accents with teal, solidifying teal as their new tertiary color. I also added their purple alternate from 1998 on the new Nike MLB teamplate. I also created a new home cap, that replaced the sand in the diamonbacks's "A" logo.
  6. A few months back I reached out to another Designer that was doing some great sports branding work. We decided to team up and flush out an idea I had for a new brand when the Oakland Raiders move to Las Vegas. The idea was to keep the history and toughness behind the classic Raiders Logo, but add in some luxury and modern touches. Check out the full project at: Behance Las Vegas Raiders Rebrand Concept As always, feedback welcome and enjoy the project! A couple snippits from the project: Primary Logo Home Uniforms: Brand Swag:
