  1. Hi everyone, I have recently started a new project where I have made it a goal of mine to combine all of the sports logos from NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB (and at times MLS) from all of the major cities in the U.S. and Canada to create a singular city logo. I know this has been done countless times before but the way my designs stand out is they are more cohesive. They feel less like something was Frankenstein'd together and can almost act as a standalone logo. Consider this the definitive collection. I say this with confidence because they were all composed in Adobe Illustrator with linework redone to make the designs more seamless, images rendered in crisp high resolution quality, each one taking several hours of work and trial and error and the cherry on top of the cake is that I own my own print shop so I can make stickers and shirts out of these designs. It's a true passion project for me. My journey began when I was first getting serious about graphic design, the summer right before I enrolled at DePaul in 2013. I created a mashup of all the Chicago logos because I wanted my own version of it. All the variations I had seen online did not do the city justice and I wanted something genuinely more badass that wouldn't look cheesy. I dubbed it "The Chicago Beast". It was cool for a few years and then I sort of forgot about it - well in 2019 I decided to take another crack at it and make a wildly popular rendition of this logo mashup combination - you may have seen it online (I made a North Side - Cubs and a South Side - White Sox version. Both featured elements of the Blackhawks, Bears and Bulls. I have made slightly different variations - some including the 6 star Chicago flag and others with different color arrangements. Fast forward to 2021 - A whole year of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown had me yearning for another creative project that I can do for fun. I decided - why not give every city this same treatment? And so I did - "Major League Remix" (#MajorLeagueRemix). I will be posting the designs in this thread and would love some feedback! While I do consider these designs to be 'complete', as a true designer, I know there is always room for improvement, especially since teams change logos frequently. A few things to note (ground rules) for my concepts: They don't necessarily have to use the entire design of the logo in the mashup. They can be as little or as much as possible - the only rule is they have to look cohesive and make sense - no Frankenstein work! I often use past versions of team logos although I try to use the current ones as much as I can. This is because my goal is to make the logo look good, and if I use the core logo, it may not look the best. I have struggled a lot to piece some of these together because of the lack of uniqueness, clean design or symmetry so I have had to resort to alternates. Colors are fair game - as long as they are pulled directly from within the color palette of the city's sports logos. They all have a white border with rounded corners for consistency and also to set them up for sticker printing. That is all! I am so glad to be a part of this awesome forum - I can't think of a more perfect place to post this kind of work on the internet. 2. I have 2 more kit concepts for Atlanta United FC. One is an updated version of a concept I did back in 2018 that combines the "5 Stripes" identity with the Golden Spike used in the club's branding and origin story. The other is a sash concept to change up the aesthetic a little bit, but still attempted to keep the look classic and clean.
  3. 2021 brings a new home kit for Atlanta United. I know gradients/fades are gimmicky and don't hold up well over time, but I don't hate it in this context for some reason. I'm at least hoping Atlanta goes back to the 5 stripes aesthetic that they're originally known for. I also hope they do something special for their 5th anniversary playing in ATL to make this edition more fun and collectible.
  4. Atlanta United is rumored to be doing away with their inaugural away kits, which is a good thing in my view as they were pretty boring. I love their red and black striped kit, and wanted to keep the "5 Stripes" in my concept kit as well. It's an all black idea, so I thought it may work better as a 3rd kit rather than their main away kit. I may attempt an away kit as well on this thread in the future.
  5. This is the United Basketball Association. The UBA is comprised of 5 different independent basketball leagues that merged together to form one large league. Each league became its own division. Northeast Basketball League was founded in 1960
  6. This is the USBL. The United States Baseball League is comprised of 32 teams. There are 4 divisions, (North, South, East and West) with 8 teams in each division. Team names and designs are inspired by the 1900’s - 1940’s baseball era. The USBL has a 100 game season. Each division winner makes the playoffs. There are also 4 wild card spots. Each division winner automatically gets a 1, 2, 3 or 4 seed. The teams with the next four best records will get the 5, 6, 7 and 8 seeds. NORTH Chicago Wind Sox Milwaukee Warriors Indiana Badgers Omaha Pioneers Minnesota Millers St. Louis Spiders Cincinnati Scouts Louisville Sluggers SOUTH San Antonio Outlaws Birmingham Bears Memphis Crows Houston Hurricanes Atlanta Zephyrs New Orleans Tiger Sharks Miami Waves Dallas Independents EAST New York Scrapers Detroit Motors Baltimore Birds Philadelphia Federals Boston Maroons Cleveland Ghosts Pittsburgh Buccaneers Washington Senators WEST Los Angeles Californians Portland Lumberjacks San Francisco Seals Denver Prospects San Jose Seagulls Oklahoma City Twisters Seattle Orcas Las Vegas Silvers
  7. Messin' around with some secondary logo concepts for Newcastle United. FYI, the blue color variations translated a little weird for the preview image. The full-sized image is more accurate to the concept vision.
  8. Playing around with the USA National Soccer Kit. I can't stand what Nike has done the last few design cycles. The best kit they ever did was the centennial design. It was simple, clean, and actually used our colors! I took the current redesigned logo and integrated it into a similar design to the centennial look. To distinguish us from everyone else I went with the striped socks to reflect "Old Glory". No neon color accents, no Popsicle stripes, and no black.
