  1. I had a thread a few years ago about if the NFL mandated that each team wear a white helmet. (the topic is now closed). I wanted to start the 2nd version with the division I never finished, the NFC West. First is the Rams, this was made before today's reveal, so sorry, no bone here...... This is the home set. I wanted to keep a balance of the three colors, but still making sure the blue/yellow were the stars. Here's the away. Finally the alternate.
  2. Hi guys, I've been working a a NCAA 2nd division rebrand and I'm not sure about that wordmark for sport jerseys. It's supposed to be a monogram of the WWU what do you guys think about my versions? I need to get some feedbacks before posting the whole project. C&C are appreciate.
  3. Even since Washington wanted to do a rebrand, one name that keeps popping up as a fan favorite is the Red Wolves/RedWolves/Redwolves. I still think it can be a good name, but it also has one thing that all the other possibles names don't have: a back-up plan. See the name Redwolves has two things going against it: 1.Arkansas State owns the Red Wolves name. Which means Washington needs to reach a shared agreement with them in order to use it without litigation. 2. Even though the animal the name comes from, the red wolf, exists, too many people think that the Red part is forced trying to cram a part of the Washington history not needed. So in case we can't overcome either one of those, we can just make it the Washington Wolves. With WSH "starting over" and looking for a "new cultural identity", the name fits with their mission. I have been working on the logo for over a month now trying to get it right. And with the help of people on twitter as well as designers like UniMockups and Brandon Moore, I was able to achieve this snarling wolf! This logo has gone through a lot of versions! The main colors would be Burgundy and Gold, but the secondary colors really make the difference. The darker color is what I call Wolf Brown. A loose connection to the (Washington Football Team) past since that and the old gold are from the old days of Washington. But the biggest addition is the color blood orange (I call it the Nike color) which can be used the same way Seattle uses their bright green color. When you add claw marks to the logo as well as make a blackout (night) version, it really gives it a punch! And I also made a few secondary and alternate logo variations. The alternate logo is a simple one. The DC flag inside the pentagon, representing the military building. But the W is my biggest success. I was able to fit the Washington Monument in the W without using the whole monument like every other Ws have been. As for the helmet, I think the burgundy W on a white helmet with claw mark stripes is a great way to fit as a simple helmet design like the old teams of GB, CHI, and NY. And with the uniforms I wanted to add claw marks on the side, diagonally so it doesn't look like stretch marks (LOL) Here they are in Home, Away, Color Burst, and Blackout (Night) Like a good designer, this might not be the final form. But I am glad at what I achieved! Go Wolves of Washington!

    Redwolves

Been a while since I posted anything here, but I thought I'd share this fun little test piece I made recently. Im lucky, I get to work in sports through the animation work I do, but it means I don't get to do a whole bunch of logo work these days. in response to the Washington rebrand, I was interested in the Redwolves mascot name. It gave me an idea for a concept that sought to source a little of the old visual equity without a specific reference to native people. I understand they likely want a clean break from this, but this was just a thought experiment. My rationale is that there are multiple pirates and crossed swords in the league, why not multiple arrow heads? Anyway, the aim was to make a fun rebrand video (I'd love to get back into more sports branding in that regard) and feature a quick logo design. My uniform is terrible, so anyone who wants to take a crack at making a better version, go ahead. If I get time, Ill retexture the player with a better design. Link to the associated video posted to twitter below. Hope you like it.
  5. While there is this movement for the new Washington NFL name, I was thinking about Washington's NBA team, the Wizards. Everyone hates the name and the logo has gone further away from that name. So I was thinking what if they finally change the name to something more appropriate? To go along with NHL's Capitals and MLB's Nationals, the name should be more DC centric. One name that always pops up is Metros. I think that name needs work, then I saw a defunct MLS name the NY/NJ Metrostars. And that actually fits with the logo itself, a DC landmark and a star! So I just changed the bottom of the logo and removed one of the red lines. And just for fun, I made a secondary logo with a basketball and star in the middle with W and M on the top and bottom
  6. My take for the Washington Not-The-(Washington Football Team). I decided to call the team the Sentinels. A Sentinel is a soldier who keeps guard over a particular thing. The name works well for a football team (although maybe not if they have a bad Defense or an Offensive Line), and it gives the impression of a fortress or a defensive stronghold, such that should be implied by the capital of a country as prominent and powerful as the United States. Logo (features a letter "W" with the dome of the US Capitol Building superimposed on it) Uniforms (keeps the same general design as the old (Washington Football Team) uniforms, but adds a chevron on the sleeve to look like military insignia) C&C Welcome and Appreciated.
  7. I was going through some old concepts I made and came across a concept I made back in 2013. I dusted it off and applied it to this template. I did have a little difficulty making the concept with this template so bare with me a little. Let me know what you think.
  8. Took me like 2 minutes to do this so ignore any errors that I was too lazy to fix. but basically I made this because I always wanted the wizards to have the timberwolves jerseys and the timberwolves to keep the old jerseys they used to have

    Apple Cup Logo

Hey everyone. I've been holding onto this design for a while, as the Apple Cup hasn't been on anyone's mind until now, and no one could've predicted just how important it would be! The current logo for the game is serviceable, but is incredibly bland and generic. I sought to create something unique to Washington, and here's what I came up with, in several different color options. Thanks for checking it out! https://imgur.com/kCvbtmD https://imgur.com/bwzIphx https://imgur.com/Rf10GkD https://imgur.com/BdxRyzh https://imgur.com/92eaete
  10. Here's a design for the Caps if they ever want to have a new jersey instead of a direct throwback. The overall look is heavily inspired by the throwback jerseys but with some differences. The Weagle is front and centre as it should be, and the font is more modern. C&C Appreciated!
  11. As a Jazz fan who's not a huge fan of the current design (minus the City Edition jersey), I figured I would try my hand at redesigning the team. Changing the colors to dark purple, teal, and copper, the team resurrects a snowflake logo. The Association uniform is off-white, the Icon uniform purple, the Statement uniform teal, and the new City Edition uniform a gradient going from pewter blue to dark blue. C&C welcome!
  12. Hello everyone its been quite a while since I've posted anything on here because of school and other things but as of recent I've had the itch to get back into taking the time to create these concepts. Now the real reason why I'm posting this is that I have some other concept ideas but I wanted to see how my Adidas template looks. Georgia Tech finally moves on from Russell and moves to Adidas (some people may say this a downgrade, but I personally like Adidas) and this is my rendition of what Georgia Tech should look like in my eyes. Home Away Alternate I'll be posting later on tonight my Washington/Adidas concept but in the meantime any thoughts on the concept? For some reason, my images don't look great and are not expandable so I posted links to get a better image. And before anyone asks I will possibly make this template available to download but not as of right now
  13. I absolutely loved what New Era started in Minnesota at the 2014 MLB All Star Game by designing special All Star caps that honored the host team. The potential was set up for new caps every year on All Star night to tell a different story about a host team's uniform history or local culture, while also allowing the game a rare chance to have some fun and get creative with their usually sacrosanct brands -- not to mention increasing merchandise sales in the process. Unfortunately, that was a trend that only lasted two seasons. So in an effort to show what could have been, each season I take it upon myself to continue what New Era once started and design my own city-centric concept caps for the MLB All Star Game. For the 2018 ASG in Washington D.C., I dipped into the city's baseball past to help inspire the cap design, while also taking cues from that time period and D.C.'s world-famous cherry blossoms to create a campaign that celebrates the nation's capital as well as the national pastime. To view the entire cap collection along with additional merchandise, plus a look inside the design process and inspiration, visit my website.
  14. I thought the Bullets old jerseys were a bit too messy. and that their 90's jerseys were too red and unpleasant for the eyes. so I tried to do something in between. Their court I thought had far too much empty space and too small logos. so I pulled them up a bit. and I fixed some angels on the primary logo.
  15. I've taken another long break from concepts, so consider this my return. I've decided on a redesign of the Pac-12. I've completed all 12 teams before I started this thread, and I will release one every four days. I am going in a completely random order. Here are the release dates: 9/29 (Today): Oregon 10/3: Arizona 10/7: Stanford 10/11: Cal 10/15: Arizona State 10/19: Washington State 10/23: UCLA 10/27: Washington 10/31: USC 11/4: Oregon State 11/8: Utah 11/12: Colorado Starting with Oregon. Oregon gets some consistency in this set I love the "O" on the helmet, so that returns full time. Only (only?) six helmets, six jerseys, and six pants. The Duck is on the sleeves, and the shoulders have a modified wing pattern. The shoulder wings are supposed to be reflective, like this Hit me up with C&C!
  16. As I'm sure most of you know, the Washington Redskins wore 1960s-style fauxback uniforms in 2002 for all of their home games except for Dallas (forcing them to wear blue). Does anyone know why/how the NFL allowed the team to have a full-time alternate for one year? Does that even fit within the NFL's parameters for this sort of thing? A couple other notes: -The below photo shows the team wearing their normal white-topped striped socks rather than what they ended up using. -Snyder's claim they might go back to wearing them full time is fascinating and something I never knew was considered. Here's part of a story from Scout.com about the changes: The Redskins will wear their new uniforms for this season only, though owner Daniel Snyder did not rule out making a permanent change after this year. Washington Redskins' Rod Gardner (87) and Fred Smoot (21) wear the new home-field uniform for the 2002 season during a news conference in Ashburn, Va., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002. The Redskins have adopted a new uniform for their 70th anniversary season, shedding the image of a stern Indian face from the side of their helmets. The revamped uniforms, which will only be worn at home games, include burgundy helmets that feature a logo with a spear and feathers, according to the team. (AP Photo/Stephen J. Boitano) Washington will wear gold pants with burgundy and white stripes and a dark burgundy top. The Redskins' helmets will be dark burgundy with a spear and feather dangling off it. But they'll only wear the uniforms for home games--it's back to the more recent jerseys on the road. However, Spurrier said the Redskins would wear white tops at home against Dallas, forcing the Cowboys to wear their less-favored dark uniforms. And Snyder was adamant that this move had nothing to do with any pressure by local civic groups to change the name. ''None whatsoever,'' Snyder said. ''We won't be changing the name for 100-years plus.'' The change is designed to commemorate the franchise's 70th anniversary. It also will boost sales of jerseys--the Redskins lag in the middle of the NFL sales for such items.
  17. After seeing a fruitful discussion about a Washington Redskins throwback uniform from 2002-2003, I decided to make my first uniform concept since 2013. These aren't anything groundbreaking, but they represent the latest of what I would want to see my NFL team do with their uniforms. C&C appreciated.
  18. This was just a random Caps concept I made out of boredom, with 4 variations. I can't decide on a favorite, so I figured I'd put 'em all on the boards. Here they are! Copper and no Stars Copper and Stars No Copper, no Stars No Copper, with Stars There they are! Sorry if they're not the best quality, I rushed them a little bit. I'll touch it up once I can pick a favorite.
  19. With the College Football Playoff coming up soon, I decide to take the current top 4 teams and design playoff uniforms for them.
  20. Hey folks! In this thread, I wanted to bring back one of the Capital's unused logos with a modern twist. The logo wasn't horrible, but I knew it could be better. I decided to change a lot of things... Secondary/alternate logos, jerseys, and much more coming soon. However, I'd like to hear an opinion from you guys about this logo before I do that, so C&C is much appreciated.
  21. This is my first jersey swap and I think it came out well. I figured I'd share it with you all and hopefully receive feedback and areas of focus to make the necessary improvements in future Jersey swaps and photo edits. I will also take a few request so that I can continue to gain experience. Logo credit: Conrad.
  22. Recently it was announced that the Arena Football League will be expanding to Washington DC for the 2017 season and I thought it could be fun to get some ideas flowing on what this team could eventually be called and what potential logos could look like. The team owners are the same group that own the Wizards, Mystics, and Capitals so that might be something to keep in mind about them. The two names I've heard/thought of that I like the best for the team are the Washington Maul, which I read in a Washington newspaper article online, and one I thought of that seems perfect for Arena Football; the Washington Insiders. While I really like both names I had some issues thinking of good logos, but I thought I'd share what I thought of and see if anyone has any ideas for improvements. Feel free to share your ideas on these or post your own names/logos! This was my first thought for the Washington Maul; it's based off a commemorative Centennial Ax that was made in honor of George Washington's election as President (he's known chopping down a cherry tree as a kid). The axe-head shape is based off a pentagon, and the obelisk in the oval is in honor of the Washington Monument in the National Mall at Washington. Here's my first thought for the Insiders. I've found that many 'insider' logos usually have 'In' inside of some sort of box or thought cloud or something so I decided to go along those same lines for this. I chose a pentagon as the outer shape in reference to Washington's Pentagon. It creates a cleaner, more simplistic logo that I think would actually stand out pretty well among other AFL logos.
  23. *Update added 3/16, still in progress* I don't think the Skins will go in this direction (nor should they necessarily), but I wanted to try something different from most Washington rebrand concepts. I wanted to create something military-themed with a few nods to the franchise lineage. I like the name "DC Soldiers," but "Washington Warriors" would probably work, too... this is a first draft & I do want to make this logo a bit less Archer-ish (especially the eyes), so any feedback would be great!
  24. Hey guys..... I'm new to making concepts. I've been trying out a few different templates to get a good feel of what works and what doesn't, and these are a few jerseys I've done so far for the NHL. 1st up is a version of a Capitals jersey talked about in the NHL 2015 Page. This jerseys uses the prototype jersey Weagle (Made by Mr.Nascar13) and a blue, copper and red colour pattern. The striping is based off the Pre-Edge black alternate. 2nd here is a common one for the Senators. However, I've tweaked the Peace Tower shoulder patch slightly, hoping the addition of green to the logo is enough to make it stand out. C & C is welcome.... and depending on everything, I may make this a NHL series. Up next should be Tampa Bay.
  25. There has been a lot of talk about the Capitals recently, especially involving the Weagle logo and promoting it. It seems so natural to put the stars above the logo, it kinda balances out the logo, and I decided to take the extra step and integrate the DC flag (at least on the white, it's the reverse on the red, which is also used in certain logos in downtown Washington). The shoulders are a hallmark of the original sweaters, and the rest is meant to be a mix of modern and traditional. C&C? DC flag: Reverse:
