  1. It's soon to be a new day and age here in Dallas. We are rapidly approaching the end of the Dirk era and last season was the worst season for the Mavericks in 20 years. After a period that included 12 straight playoff appearances, 2 Southwest Titles, 2 Conference Championships and finally hoisting the Larry O' Brien with some revenge over the Miami Heat, it's time for the rebuild (whether Mark Cuban is willing to be fined to be so upfront about admitting it or not) With a new core of Dennis Smith, Jr , Harrison Barnes and Luka Dončić setting up the future for the Mavericks, now is a perfect time for the Dallas Mavericks to rebrand for the next chapter in our franchise's history The primary logo keeps the horse iconography but the horse is now holding his head high. This fixes the issue of the "emo horse" look for the current primary and distinguishes the team from other horse logos that are either charging forward (Denver Broncos) or have their head down midbuck (Boise State / 90s Detroit Pistons) The off center roundel wordmarking for the primary was inspired by the Boston Celtics and was done to give the primary logo a feeling of motion. Green returns as the primary color for the team at a slightly brighter green than from their inaugural season. The Navy used is the same shade as the current. The font, Melma Black, was chosen for its balance between solid shapes and slight western feeling. While I was tempted to modify the old M-hat logo, I wanted the secondary to use a capital D. The logo is inspired by 47Brand's hat which is too strong of a look to be left as an unofficial logo any longer. The new Association uniform brings the wordmark bold and out front. The Icon Uniform returns the Mavericks to a Green base team to unify them with their co-tenants at the AAC. Additionally using green as their primary dark uniform helps distinguish them from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The side striping takes inspiration from the logo of the jersey sponsor, American Airlines. Our current city uniform has "DAL" out front which is a name we never refer to ourselves by unless you're talking about Love Field. Of course, for obvious reasons, you can't put "Big D" in front of a NBA uniform. To compromise you have a modified version of the secondary logo alluding to this nickname. The striping for the logo and numbers take inspiration from the green neon lights in Downtown Dallas against the night sky. CC welcome
  2. As a Dolphins fan, it gives me no particular thrill to upgrade the logo/uniform set of the team that beats up on us twice a year, but the current Pats set has felt stale- even if, in its own right, it has become a classic. The silver with New England's helmet and piping (and, yes, at one point, alternate jersey) has always felt kind of odd, but they've really made it their own- the winning they've done in the post-Bledsoe unis have all but solidified this set as a classic, irrespective of its aesthetic merits. The Pat Patriot logo, though, still seems to have a particular resonance with Boston sports fans, and in an attempt to have my cake and eat it too, I did a sort of cross-blend of eras by updating the Pat Patriot logo but keeping the sensibilities of the current set. Would love to hear thoughts! Logo: Home: Road: Alternate:
  3. Hey Guys! It has been awhile since I've put up a concept, so here we go. This is a concept for the MLS Chicago Fire. I tried to make it more modern so it can fit with the new "feel" of the MLS. I kept a few touches from the old logo and some from around the MLS. I hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome! Thanks!
  4. Hey Guys! If you remember, I already made a Revolution Logo concept, I just had an idea and wanted to run with it! This logo is a simple crest with 13 stripes for the US flag. Also, I have "N" and "E" for New England that fills in for the stars. 1776 for the year of United States Independence. And there you have it, another Revolution Logo Concept. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  5. Hey Guys! I know this is not a sports concept but I really wanted to share this with all the other designers on this forum. Vitorio Arts has a new logo and soon will have a brand new website! So since this is a big deal (to me) i wanted to give all of you an inside look to who I am and my company. My Name is Louie Vitorio, I have been doing graphic design since 2011. I started my own "company" called Louie Vitorio Design in 2012. When I went to college and met a bunch of talented people and together we formed Vitorio Arts in 2013. After a couple of hard months (and personal reasons) we abandoned Music Production, Photography, and (was in the works) a clothing line. So at the end of 2013, I was back to just doing Graphic Design. It was close to April in 2014 that I hired Matthew McElwee for Web design. And since then, we have been thriving as a company! So I'm proud to announce the new look for Vitorio Arts! Here is the Logo History. Thank you guys so much for all the great comments (and not so great) over the year I have been on this website, it has helped me grow into the designer I am today. And of course, C&C Welcome!
  6. - Simple design which is what is needed after the last two interesting away designs - "I Believe" on the inside collar

  8. Hello all! Today I bring a new concept to you. This time for the Columbus Blue Jackets. I wanted to try something kind of out there for this one so I tried a square yoke with angular stripes. I used the light blue from the Columbus thirds and used it as an accent color. Comments and CC are greatly appreciated! Also thanks to MrWonka for his sexy template. 9. thought id share my pitch for the fantasy league over on icethetics, Hawaii honu (sea turtles). done a bit of tweaking since i posted it on dribble http://drbl.in/ljHW (mostly changes to curves and line weights), pretty happy with how it ended up. the turtles natural texture had a cracked magma feel to me, which i think ties in with the Hawaiian theme. I chose this particular colour scheme to emphasize that and go with something wasn't just your typical blue and green approach. The word mark i decided to keep simple and modern again shying away from the cliche tropical look. any last suggestions before i turn it in? I'm also looking for ideas for a secondary logo, so far volcano is at the top of my list but ideas would be great
  10. Still new to designing logos that aren't soccer logos. I am trying to make a logo for a team in Marseille, France for my European Hockey League, but I'm a little stuck on the colours of the logo as well as how to improve on my logo. I need to work on the mouth, eye and tail for sure. Don't hold back on the criticism please! So here are the colour options. (My favourites are 3 and 4, but Teal will still be used on the jersey.) 1. Light Blue Outline / Grey Body 2. Light Blue Outline / Teal Body 3. Dark Blue Outline / Light Blue Body 4.Dark Blue Outline / Grey Body
  11. http://the700level.c...-jersey-colors/ I love the decision personally. I hope we go for a whole new alternate as well! Go Nuggets/Rockets style and bring back a retro like 1994-1996 or 2001.
  12. After seeing all the talk about the Penguins dropping their blue thirds and where they should go from their current edge jerseys led me down some new paths. I learned some things: The 90s Cup-era jerseys, which are what I'd like to see back, are not as popular as I thought. The mid-90s robo-Penguin is surprisingly popular. Mario hates it though. The 80s gold is popular, but nowhere near unanimously loved. Which is good, because Mario HATES it. The pre-edge jerseys were beloved, and so was the metallic vegas gold. So, I looked back over the Pens' history and got some inspiration. I didn't want to ignore the current jerseys, which have had their own era, and I didn't want to adopt an older jersey. I liked the triangles of the pre-edge jerseys, I wanted to bring them back. I also looked way back to the 70s and the jerseys not yet brought back, particularly those 1974 jerseys where they had an unexpected cup run. There have been triangle sleeves angled in all directions, but the pre-edge era make more sense in the age of sleeve numbers and patches all over. But I didn't want to simply bring back those jerseys in total. In time, I realized something: Those socks haven't changed since the initial return of the skating penguin. the Flyers based a jersey on their socks, and that was far, FAR more random. Why not the Pens? Plus, that made the jerseys far more versatile. You could use that template for anything, black with athletic gold, athletic gold with black, or any combination of blues. This is what I went with. The Pens have a habit of implementing jerseys as a third and then promoting it. That's my plan here. The new Pens' third jersey: With a new shoulder patch, made from a few key pieces: Who doesn't love the scarf? Put an 80s angry eye on it, close the beak because it looked too nice with it open, and eliminate the lines that were allegedly the result of a sponsorship deal from Mellon Bank. Then, that third can be promoted, and this can be introduced with it: and eventually, because Mario loves the blue, a third jersey. I thought of normal white shoulders, but these seemed so much more appropriate. The vegas gold did not look good with it, so I went old school. The clashing logo just looks so old timey. The only question was to use the secondary or the primary. This is the secondary version, I can post the other if asked. Thoughts? C&C?
  13. I took one of the Braves' current alternate uniforms and used it as the basis for a new uniform set, mixing a pair of eras in the concept. What do you think? To clarify: the one on the upper left is NOT a concept -- it is a current alternate jersey.
