  1. Now that I've finished my NFL series, I thought I'd take on something new: NCAA Division 1 football. Vastly bigger (and way more fun) than the NFL. I'll be working my way through the Power 5 conferences, with some Group of Five/Independents thrown in the mix as I get to them. Hoping to do 2-3 per week. In no particular order: ACC Boston College | Clemson | Duke | Florida State | Georgia Tech | Louisville | Miami | North Carolina | NC State | Pittsburgh | Syracuse | Virginia | Virginia Tech | Wake Forest Big Ten Illinois | Indiana | Iowa | Maryland | Michigan | Michigan State | Minnesota | Nebraska | Northwestern | Ohio State | Penn State | Purdue | Rutgers | Wisconsin Big 12 Baylor | Iowa State | Kansas | Kansas State | Oklahoma | Oklahoma State | TCU | Texas | Texas Tech | West Virginia Pac-12 Arizona | Arizona State | California | Colorado | Oregon | Oregon State | Stanford | UCLA | USC | Utah | Washington | Washington State SEC Alabama | Arkansas | Auburn | Florida | Georgia | Kentucky | LSU | Ole Miss | Mississippi State | Missouri | South Carolina | Tennessee | Texas A&M | Vanderbilt Group of Five/Independents UCF | Notre Dame Comments/feedback welcome!
  2. Professional sports, especially the NFL, get a lot of love and discussion when it comes to uniform aesthetics so I wanted to create a topic specifically for college football uniforms and history. Some of my favorites are: DIII: Almost the entire MIAC because they mostly have old, private, religious schools that have traditional aesthetics. If I had to narrow down my three favorite, it would be the Concordia Cobbers, St. John's Johnnies and St. Thomas Tommies DII: Minnesota State. They've come a long ways since Adam Thielen suited up for the Mavs FCS: North Dakota State and Montana FBS: There are a lot of classics but so I'm going to narrow it down to LSU because watching Joe Burrow on the draft coverage is what inspired me to make this anyways. I love the color balance, the shoulder stripes and the uniqueness of white at home
  3. So for the first time in a freakin eternity, Notre Dame and Wisconsin will be facing off on the gridiron next season. For whatever reason, instead of holding either game on campus, the 2020 game will be at part of ND's Shamrock Series, meaning the Irish are the "home" team. I figure nothing like this will happen uniwise, but I figured I'd take a College to Pro-style approach, so the Irish are based on the 40s Packers, as a nod to alum Curly Lambeau, while the Badgers took cues from the Lombardi Pack, though given that they don't typically utilize a third color, I used a light gold similar to the shade used in UW's academic mark...which makes the whole thing look like a 49ers reject. I might have been better off going with a white/red version of the Powerball jersey, tbh. The 2021 game, meanwhile, will be at Soldier Field...where the Badgers will be the home team. Given that a lot of people hated the navy helmets worn in the most recent Yankee Stadium game, I figured sticking with gold domes but using the baseball ND would work nicely. For the hell of it, the jersey and socks are mint green. Wisconsin's set is based on the big V and stripes from the late 20s Bears, though as I'm not sure the NCAA would've allowed for a smaller upper-chest number, the striping is in a darker cardinal, making this something more akin to the late 90s Patriots. I'm not super confident in my ability to make a helmet look like its leather counterpart, so I extended the tonal look to the helmet, using the darker cardinal as the shell color, with a little anachronism with the early 60s front and back W's. You may scream now.
  4. Welcome to the American College Football Association. The ACFA was formed in 1934 and is a huge rival to the NCAA. The league consists of 93 schools and eight conferences, the Southern 12, the California Conference, the Original 9, the Midwest Athletic Association, the Southwest Conference, the Plains Conference, the Western Athletic Conference, and the Central Athletic Conference. There is a 16-team playoff. Unlike the NCAA, the ACFA allows schools to pay their players without a penalty. Here is the Southern 12 Conference. West Mississippi Tech (Flowood) Mississippi A&M (Greenville) Birmingham State Alabama-Gulf Shores New Orleans State Mississippi State- Biloxi East Georgia Central (Macon) Western Florida (St. Petersburg) Coastal Carolina Columbus College (Columbus, Ga) Jacksonville Southern Tennessee State- Chattanooga Here is the first team, Mississippi Tech Ducks Mississippi Tech was founded in 1894 in Flowood, Ms. The Ducks football team played their first game on August 29, 1903 against New Orleans State. Mississippi Tech has always been good but not superb. You always see them in the polls but they can never bring home a championship. Mississippi A&M was founded in 1830 in Greenville, Ms. The Gators have 5 championships but have struggled recently. After hiring new head coach, Ronnie Blue, MAM looks to get back to their winning ways. Birmingham State was founded in 1870. The Magicians have a huge rivalry with Mississippi Tech. BSU leads the series 50-22. The 2000s have been a terrific decade for Birmingham State, making the playoffs every year except 2010. Alabama-Gulf Shores is the laughing stock of the conference. The Sharks have been at the bottom nearly every year and have gone through 8 coaches in the last 10 years. However, in 2003, they nearly made the playoffs but got their hearts broken by rival Mississippi State-Biloxi in the last regular season game. The New Orleans State Raiders are a powerhouse. Every year you see them in the playoffs. Coached by the legend Willie Brown, the Raiders have gone 62-2 in the last 4 years and have 21 championships. Mississippi State-Biloxi Hurricanes have been a long-time competitor to NOLA State, but have never been able to reach NOSU's legacy. Georgia Central was founded in 1798 in Macon. As another one of Birmingham State's rivals, the Chiefs always play them tough and physical. Central was a dynasty in the 1970s, winning 6 championships. Nowadays, they have only reached the playoffs once, in 2013. Western Florida is mediocre to sub-par every year. The Sun Devils annually get crushed by in-state rivals Jacksonville Southern and Florida State. Columbus College was founded in 1821. In 1939, the Hornets started the first minority quarterback in ACFA history, Jordan Robinson. Not to be confused with Jackson State, the Jacksonville Southern Bengals wear their sky blue and navy with pride. They are usually a playoff contender every year. The Tennessee State-Chattanooga Raccoons usually hang with AGSU at the bottom of the conference.
  5. This idea has been brewing in my head for a while now. My inspiration for this project is some concepts that @wyopokes2 did back in the day. He used an interactive uniform picker that I thought was a great idea. So I tried my hand at making a website and putting my concepts on there so that people can mix and match uniforms as they please. I would appreciate any C&C for the uniforms and also the website as I am not savvy at all with creating a website. Thank you. 6. What if the CFP was 64 teams? Here is my concept of what the bracket would have looked like this year. I used CBS 128 rankings at the end of the season for seeding.
  7. Put together a western style template to use as a CFB schedule lockscreen. I'll take requests, but for now I only have the template set up for a regular, 12 game CFB season. Please don't ask me to make one for your favorite MLB squad with their 9,423 games per season or basketball, hockey, whatever. Even a 16-game NFL slate will get a bit cramped on a phone screen, so for now I'm keeping it to 2016 CFB schedules. Obviously the stylistic elements lend themselves well to western / farm / rural types of teams. In other words, Maryland wasn't my first choice to make a rustic lockscreen for, but I have no objection to making one for the Terps if barnwood and crabcakes are your thing.
  8. Examples: Helmets Signatures: Be free to use these as you wish, and for the rest of the signatures and profile pictures, click here. And for requests, if you wish for a specific helmet that isn't a team's primary helmet, I prefer you use the helmet project to tell me which helmet. It's easier for everyone, and it gives me a great reference on what it looks like. If it is a primary helmet, please tell me the school and i'll get it for you. C&C APPRECIATED I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, please reference the Helmet project if you have a Div II, FCS, Div III school, an alternate helmet or historical helmet. PLEASE. It saves you time, and it doesn't clutter the thread with extra pictures. The link is right -------> here. Thank you.
  9. Hello, all! It's been quite a while since I've posted a concept series and I think that needs to change. So without further adieu, I present my Southern Conference Football Redesign! First up is Chattanooga. They have a really bland and boring identity right now, so I thought I'd spice things up a bit, and use the color scheme in their bird logos as seen below. C&C is greatly appreciated!
  10. With news of the Jordan logo being featured on Michigan's uniforms, I decided to whip up some concepts.
  11. It's simple. Post uniforms that you think would look better with/without one small detail. Please say what you would add or remove to the uniform. Louisville;s football numbers. I think it would so much better if they get rid of the drop shadows on the numbers. Drop Shadows should be reserved for the 90's or 7th grade teams. And next we have the 49ers and their messed up sleeve stripes. They would easily have a much better uniform if they just fixed the dang stripes!

  13. So I'm not great at graphic design (By the way if anyone is and would like to digitalize this for me that would be fantastic) so I just drew this out by hand. Gators, concept. Also first blog post, what do you guys think?
  14. Since Appalachian State is my top college choice, I wanted to do a concept for their football team. Right now they use this terrible Yosef logo from the 70's on the right after changing from the beautiful Mountain Man logo on the left. They also have a nice block A logo, which I don't mind. So I wanted to use both the Mountain man and A logo in this identity. The pants stripes are based off the throwbacks they wore in 2012. Overall, it's nothing too crazy, but that's fine by me IMO because I think they need to stay with a more classic looking design. The Mountain man faces the same way all the time, because he just looks weird facing forward on the left sleeve. And finally there is Ghost Yosef, or "Ghostef" alt. While browsing for logos, I stumbled upon the one below. I thought it'd be cool to do a special alt for games around Halloween, so that's what I'm going for here. Hope y'all like it!
  15. So I love doing trick plays when playing Madden and most especially when I play football with my friends. Halfback passes and end arounds are some of my favorites. One that I came up with is a fake QB sneak, then pass. I set up in the back field at QB, started jogging towards the center, while I have two receivers to my right, one behind the other. I then catch the snap, then throw it to the back WR, while the guy in front blocks. It works well I have to say. So basically, I just wanna see some stuff you guys would use if you were a head coach or offensive coordinator, and also what your favorite trick plays are.
  16. Everybody has had a sport they never liked, or never bothered to care for. So I would be interested to hear what's your's. For me, it's Soccer and Hockey and NASCAR. I don't understand why people find wasting gas, tires, and turning left 90 times fun to watch.
  17. If anybody wants to join I made a "CCSLC" group on ESPN, all you need is an account and you can play! Password is logos.
  18. I wanted to redesign the UCF Knights football uniforms. What they have right now is decent, but I really think they could spruce up their look a bit as well. First off, I made a gold helmet as the primary, and second, I added silver, as it's in everyone of their logos. I'll be doing more combos as well, but here's what I have so far. Home Away Alternate
