  1. Hey what's up, everyone! I'm back with another series. Last time, you saw me posting NBA uniform (and logo for some teams) concepts. This time, I'm going to tackle uniform concepts from the world's premier women's basketball league, the WNBA. It took a long time before I created this series, due to so many reasons: difficulty in conceptualization, external drive problems, etc. But, here we are, finally. I liked the route that the league and Nike went to, which is, having unique designs for the teams and not resorting to a single templated design. I'll follow that suit in this series. And just like in the NBA, these uniforms are categorized into heroine (white), explorer (dark), and rebel (alternate). But I added another edition, and it's called the storyteller, which is equivalent to the NBA's city uniforms, plus the name itself has a deeper meaning, in which the WNBA establishes new chapters per game. That statement was the best Nike-esque expression I could ever write. Not only that, these four editions form the abbreviation H-E-R-S. Similar to my NBA concepts, league logo on the jersey is in the front (with the colors varying per team) and the NOB goes back to its traditional position (arched and on top of the back number). And the best thing here? No sponsors! Well, the teams can add them if they want to. 2. Charlotte Very Much in Play as MLS Mulls Expansion Growth to 30 A few interesting quotes: To me, it seems like Charlotte is in a solid third place for expansion, with St. Louis and Sacramento ahead (with seemingly guaranteed spots), but the 30th spot is open for business. Again, successful international matches held at Bank of America Stadium prove this point. Also, while BoA may not be perfect right now, when the time comes to replace the stadium, both the Panthers & the Charlotte MLS team could negotiate to get something like Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium - a football & soccer stadium. (Also, Tepper has expressed his desire for a domed stadium for the Panthers.) This is a big one: corporate sponsors are already there. Additionally, the new club wouldn't interfere with Atlanta, DC, or even Nashville, given how far apart the clubs are. I'd love it if this happens, I can only hope that it comes to fruition. David Tepper seems to be fully embracing Charlotte and he doesn't have any stadium issues that plague so many other expansion bids (and actually killed the previous Charlotte one). Honestly, while it may not be Atlanta-level successful, Charlotte has a history of hosting successful soccer matches (just the other day Gold Cup matches were that drew 55,000, I believe). The bid isn't perfect, but I think Charlotte has a pretty high chance of landing the 30th MLS team if everything goes smoothly. What do you guys think?
  3. Futuristic themed court since the hornets have an old fashion court.
  4. There's apparently an agreement in place to sell the Carolina Charlotte Panthers. Price tag: $ 2.2 billion. The buyer is currently a part-owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The last Steelers part-owner to buy a majority stake in a team was Jimmy Haslam. Make of these facts what you will.
