  1. Hi everyone, For my latest project, I wanted to do address the overabundance of blue & red teams across Major League Baseball. For inspiration, I figured I'd look at the colors of other local teams to create some regional visual unity, similar to the way that all Pittsburgh teams use black and gold. Note that some teams will be using throwback colors of local teams, such as the first team below. We start today with the Texas Rangers in the San Antonio Spurs' fiesta colors. Thanks to @Victormrey for the suggestion! RANGERS HOME RANGERS ROAD RANGERS HOME ALT 1 RANGERS HOME ALT 2 RANGERS HOME ALT 3 RANGERS ROAD ALT C&C appreciated! Another team will be up soon.
  2. Hello all! I am back again for yet another NHL redesign. I've done one in the past, but my skills have improved since then, I have had uniforms I've designed been worn on the ice, and I have found even better templates to use. This prompted my idea to design what I think every team should look like. Nothing crazy. Every team changes in some form, some more than others. There's only 9 teams I left the primary logo pretty much the same, while the rest of the teams have redesigned/reimagined logos. To pair with the home and away concepts, I added an alternate and a city jersey. I plan on sticking to a couple rules. I'll stick to my rules for the most part, there may be a couple exceptions. Home & Road: Must have at least one difference from their current look (besides a couple of the original 6 teams) Can dip back in time to past uniforms (I think some teams had really good looks in the past but ditched the more modern look for a classic look. It's time to look more modern in some cases) Alternates: They must be a different colour than the home or away. They cannot be just a throwback/retro jersey The throwback rule may be broken a couple times, but I'm really trying to make the alternates look different from their home and road jerseys. City: Should not use the colour scheme of the team (unless the colours are tied to the city and integral in the design) Will borrow the logo, but the logo will adapt to the new colours (similar to the Wild's reverse retro) The city jerseys are an idea borrowed from the NBA. I wanted to design something that ties back to the city, that is radically different from the main uniform set. I think the NHL needs some fun in jersey design, but not as much as the NBA, but to allow some of these cool designs that are often worn in warmups, to be worn during the game. The City uniform is one way I think it could happen. It really may just end up being a city flag jersey haha, but that can be cool in it's own way as well. Because of the way I set things up, there won't be a pants or gloves design for the city jersey, but I don't think that's needed anyway. Templates for every team were created by the brilliantly talented Orion Taylor Alright, with all that ground work said and done, let's move on to the first team. Anaheim Ducks The home and away are pretty simple. Based on the classic look, but with their current colours. I love the orange, I may be in the minority there haha. I think the current colour scheme is better than the eggplant set. Hard to argue with me because it's my ideal set haha. The striping on the one arm may not be right because my brain could not figure out what direction it should go, so if anyone has that answer, I'd love to know. Don't worry though, the eggplant makes an appearance in the alternate. Using a design from another past uniform, but changing up the colours. So it's technically not a straight throwback. Rule not broken. Now the City jersey is where things get real different. You can see the flag for the City of Anaheim in the top corner there, that's what this designed is based on. Even though it looks like the perfect All Star uniform, it is indeed just the Ducks city jersey. You may also notice the Ducks logo recoloured to fit the theme. I have all the logos prepared, but not the uniforms, so I'll be posting them as I finish them. Any C&C is appreciated, even if this is all about what I think the NHL should look like, I still appreciate comments! Especially if someone can tell me how to angle stripes on the back right sleeve haha.
  3. Hey everyone, haven't use these boards in a while but wanted some feedback on some concepts I've been working on. I've finished 4 potential names for the new Seattle team and wanted to see what everyone thinks. I also would like to know what other names I should tackle as well as seeing what other names people think are realistic for the owners to choose. 1. Seattle Kraken This name probably won't be used, but it's the first logo I made for the team, so I've been working on it for while and still wanted to share. 2. Seattle Sockeye I think this is the most realistic name for the team, It's well liked by most people. My issue is do the people of Seattle want a fish as their mascot? 3. Seattle Totems One of my favourite logos I've made in while. The problem with this name is people will and have called it cultural appropriation. Nonetheless, could be a cool brand IMO. 4. Seattle Sasquatch I've always liked this name, it's unique, and can make for a cool logo. Notice I've added mount Rainier in the logo. I think this name is probably a long shot but who knows. 5. Seattle Pilots Next up is a concept for the Pilots, a name with some ties and history to the city. It was used for an old baseball team, hence why I was inspired to do a script logo. People probably won't like that, but I'm trying to be creative and different from the rest of the NHL. I also made a primary logo (lines need a bit of cleaning up, but I don't want to spend too much time on this name), which is a propellor in the shape of an S. The name is again a long-shot, but one of my favourites and sounds like an NHL name. The problem is that it is very similar to JETS, and again ties more to baseball history than hockey. Thanks in advance!
  4. The Battle of Seattle "I love the smell of potential expansion in the morning". The rumour of Expansion is great for the creative juices. It offers up a new entity; a clean slate; a blank canvas. I'm gonna putter around with 9 different concepts. I'll explore the logos, uniforms, mascots, promotions and merchandise for each one. Some of the stuff, you'll have seen before in previous threads, but there'll be a ton of new material. It'll be a long one, so get comfortable, and let the "Battle of Seattle" begin... First up...The Seattle Metropolitans...
  5. I've been really impressed by the Seattle Kraken's identity despite the name, so I decided to try my hand at a Metropolitans-inspired Kraken jersey. The striping pattern is based off of the logo, including the tentacle. Thoughts? C&C is appreciated!
  6. Since the Kraken just debuted their awesome new S logo and the Mariners already have one, let's see who can create the best S logo for the Seahawks to go along with them. Can just be for fun, but offering a bunch of free PSD mockup templates from my site to the best design as a prize. Link to Twitter post if you want to post your design there or just post in here. Really looking forward to seeing what the community comes up with! Hoping to get some good submissions and announce a winner after the weekend.
