  1. Post any news whenever it comes about the Oakland Athletics possible relocation. Bump this thread if new news arrives later on.
  2. This concept of mine has been in the works for a while. I keep on refining it and I think I'm in a good spot to share with the public for some ideas of what works an does not work. I'm not completely sure about the court design. I can't decide if it is too much for just right. Anyway here is the background on the logo. With the popularity of the Golden Knights there is much talk about Vegas getting an NBA team. Now when the NHL gave Vegas a team the league strictly said no gambling nicknames and I am sure the NBA would say the same. So I came up with the idea of Atoms because of the A-Bomb testing in Nevada during World War 2. In fact there were actually viewing sites in Las Vegas during this period in history. Plus the Atomic museum is in Vegas if you ever wanted to check it out on your next trip. The main logo is a mushroom cloud with a red basketball in the center. Below the ring is the State of Nevada with the nuclear symbol (also in the red basketball in the mushroom cloud) where Las Vegas is located. The variation logos are just different segments of the main logo. The alt. logo is a basketball with atoms spinning around it but the circular atoms have been replaced by the famous Vegas stars that you see on the world famous Welcome To Las Vegas Sign. Colors of Red, dark red, silver and ash grey are colors that fit with the area already and similar to UNLV because they put Vegas on the map for basketball in the 90's. I think I'm in a good place but would love to see what others think.
  3. With Dallas and Nashville playing in the 2020 Winter Classic, I thought it was great that the NHL was allowing more "non-traditional" hockey markets Winter Classic games, so I started work on a Winter Classic logo for a game in Arizona. My 2022 Winter Classic logo is a simplified version of the National Park Service logo arrowhead which seemed appropriate considering where the game will be played. The background has been replaced with the sunbeams from the Arizona flag. The mountain has been replaced with Humphrey’s Peak, the highest point in Arizona, and the sequoia tree has been replaced with saguaro cacti in homage to the southwest. The “Winter” font is loosely based on the fonts used on National Parks signs, while the other text is based on signs found within national parks. I did a few other color combinations as well but I really think the red sky looks the best. For Arizona's jersey I decided to try something that hasn't been done before. I made a very simple crest but I moved it to the shoulder and helmet, allowing a very vintage collegiate look with the ARIZONA text on the chest with numbers. I also added the only good thing ever to come from the Buffalo "Buffaslug" days, and that is stitched numbers. For their opponent. I chose Vegas due to the developing rivalry in the desert. I had a problem with Vegas' logo though since it is so new, so I attempted a fauxback crest. I tried to make it look like their current logo could have evolved from this but if I am honest, I think it still needs some work. Do you guys think I am on the right track here? C+C are always appreciated
  4. A few months back I reached out to another Designer that was doing some great sports branding work. We decided to team up and flush out an idea I had for a new brand when the Oakland Raiders move to Las Vegas. The idea was to keep the history and toughness behind the classic Raiders Logo, but add in some luxury and modern touches. Check out the full project at: Behance Las Vegas Raiders Rebrand Concept As always, feedback welcome and enjoy the project! A couple snippits from the project: Primary Logo Home Uniforms: Brand Swag:
  5. After a bit of a creative block, I have finally created a sports team I was happy with. Here are the logos for the Vegas Gamblers: Primary: Secondaries: Uniforms to come after I get some feedback and tweak the logos to close to perfection.
  6. The former San Antonio Stars of the WNBA are now the Las Vegas Aces. http://aces.wnba.com/
