  1. Hi everyone, For my latest project, I wanted to do address the overabundance of blue & red teams across Major League Baseball. For inspiration, I figured I'd look at the colors of other local teams to create some regional visual unity, similar to the way that all Pittsburgh teams use black and gold. Note that some teams will be using throwback colors of local teams, such as the first team below. We start today with the Texas Rangers in the San Antonio Spurs' fiesta colors. Thanks to @Victormrey for the suggestion! RANGERS HOME RANGERS ROAD RANGERS HOME ALT 1 RANGERS HOME ALT 2 RANGERS HOME ALT 3 RANGERS ROAD ALT C&C appreciated! Another team will be up soon.
  2. I finally decided to post my Minnesota Vikings concept that I made in January. The concept is based on the idea that there is a home/away set, color rush, and a throwback alternate. I based the main set on the vikings current uniforms while also implementing the concept drawings by Hubenthal. I used the current Vikings font but without the serifs, added a white facemask, and tweaked the horn logo slightly. For the color rush uniform I decided to base it on the all white uniforms the vikings wore from 1969-1995 with the UCLA stripes. I based the alternate/throwback on the 1965 uniform set, where the numbers are outlined and the stocks dont have stripes.
  3. This concept was started a few years ago here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98132-vintage-style-lipscombcoloradohoward/ . And I just went back and cleaned it up. Let me know what you think of the updates. Here is the image: And a GIF for comparison:
  4. I've done many "Vintage Style College Mascots" and as the NFL season gets started I was thinking of what their logos/mascots might look like if they had been created in the style of Arthur Evans. I don't plan on directly using any mascot/logo looks (college or NFL) that are already out there (example: using Pistol Pete for the Dallas Cowboys). However, I may take inspiration from bits or pieces of them. Over the next few weeks/months I'll be adding my newest iterations, please let me know what you think with your comments and/or likes. First up: Minnesota Vikings
  5. Hey guys, got some NFL concepts I have been working on. I used my simplified variation of the GUD template. Let me know what you think and what I should improve on.
  6. Okay, so as you do in May, I was online looking at Lions jerseys on lids.com of all places , and I saw 2 different jerseys: one from what it says is 1996, and one that says 1993, HOWEVER, look at those TV numbers!!!! Now look me in the goddamn face and tell me these are the same :censored:ing fonts. Do it, tell me it's nothing. I :censored:ing dare you. Tell me its fine to buy a $250 'authentic' jersey that doesn't even have real double stitching on any part of the goddamn numbers. :censored:ING DO IT. Make sure to plan your funeral in advance. 1996: 1993: THIS IS SOMEONE'S JOB. LITERALLY A 5 MINUTE GOOGLE SEARCH BY ME JUST WASTED THEM. I HOPE THEY GOT FIRED, FELL INTO A PIT, BROKE THEIR LEG, AND DIED DUE TO NO ONE REALIZING THEY COULDN'T GET UP FROM THE PIT THEY FELL INTO. DIE, MITCHELL AND NESS. OR I WILL PUT YOU TO SLEEP. (okay but mods please don't suspend my posting privileges for threatening a large multinational company, or whoever inevitably tells me that this doesn't matter)
  7. Here are the teams Arizona: Wow!!! I started my NFL series that I'LL TOTALLY finish!!!! Atlanta: That new logo is trash because it has red highlights! I can fix that! (On a serious note, death to piping) Baltimore: I feel like this is an even bigger F-U to the city of Cleveland Buffalo: (EDIT) I had a stupid quip here but I accidentally made the Giants uniform that everyone makes on here so I think I'm going to take the lazy route (as one does for an average NFL series) and reuse everything here for NYG Carolina: Was it too creative?? (rhetorical, it was obviously yes) Chicago: Okay but seriously though, am I getting too original in my concepts? Cincinnati: Okay but like block numbers really add to the creativity of this one Cleveland: Sooooooooooo, like, why exactly do y'all care about the "tradition" of a 20 year old team? @raysox is older than the Browns, I should be allowed to go crazy for one of these. Dallas: I'm bored at this point. Denver: Honestly, like, who needs originality? the old sets were fine, slap on their current navy and BOOM! original content! Detroit: Lmao nvm no one cares about this team (sans I assume @drdougfresh and I think @ZionEagle. Correct me if I'm wrong) Green Bay: Why exactly were they using Reebok fabrics again? That is a serious question, someone please answer. Houston: So like, the Oilers, but not. (EDIT: Never mind, it's just the Oilers) Indianapolis: Jacksonville: I'm not even lying, I genuinely hate y'all for loving double outlines and hating the new Jags logo. Kansas City: this is the second time I had to create my own brush in illustrator, i.e. I'm working too hard on this. LA Chargers: This. LA Rams: you know what's great? the ability to copy a previous set off of gridiron uniforms and passing it off as an original design. Miami: I'm missing out on some pretty iconic striping patterns in the name of consistency. I hate that. Minnesota: Joke patent pending New England: Oh? You don't like the way the 1 is serifed? You sure? Shut up and deal with it. New Orleans: should I make a Mardi Gras alt? (EDIT: Let's try this again.) NY Giants: So like my Bills concept, but not? P.S. here's an alt. NY Jets: Please help I left my phone in a friend's car Oakland: I'll make tacky vegas uniform with more gold than their hockey team. Also, I have ranked the 9 lids stores i could find in Houston, and by hat selection alone, I'd go to the willowbroook mall one by the food court or the Memorial City one by the Target. Philadelphia: tempted to use black but decided against it. Y'all are too mean to that color when it isn't the Spurs or Raiders tbh. Pittsburgh: Since the Steelers don't have block numbers, does that mean they're now copying Iowa? San Francisco: BACK AT IT AGAIN, please help I'm lonely Seattle: I want a hug and a digital giant foam middle finger. Tampa: O F C O U R S E I T S A N O R A N G E I J U S T T O L D Y O U I T W A S A N O R A N G E Tennessee: You're the only 7 i see Washington: I needed to finish. No, I'm not doing Indy
  8. Let me be the first to jump in with the inevitable "Here's my take on the lions" post... Not new, but I'm still happy with it.
  9. Hello all! I've been a pretty busy commentator here on the boards, but I've never done an actual concept series. I started one, but I was ill prepared to continue it. Now here I am with a concept series that we've kind of seen before. Much like the Bowl Game Wallpapers from Forbes, here is an NFL Playoff series of wallpapers starting wiht the AFC and NFC Wildcard Rounds. The concept is pretty simple, helmets facing each other, on a colored background of the team colors. The goal was to use three team colors if possible, but with the Packers and Giants and such, I had to use only two. C&C much appreciated as always, let's go ahead and get to it.
