  1. As a fan of St Louis sports and the aesthetics of soccer crests, I’m very interested in the new St Louis MLS team. I have no idea what they will actually do, but the announcement that they would be releasing the logo/name/colors in a couple weeks got the creative wheels turning. St. Louis is a cool city with a ton of imagery and history to draw from. I chose to use the Arch for the overall shape of the crest, with the Apotheosis statue in Forest Park, which depicts King Louis IX, the city’s namesake, as the primary imagery within the crest. I also include the striping pattern from the city flag as a reference to the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. I struggled to settle on a color scheme. I think red/blue/gold is a no-brainer, but two MLS clubs already use those colors. Besides that, Burgundy/Gold was my next choice but I’m not 100% sold on that either. I rendered the logo in 6 color schemes and any feedback on the and/or crest would be appreciated. Thanks for your time. Whoops, the year got messed up in the brown/orange logo. I’ll update that ASAP.
  2. A very fun project to design. NFL teams playing in the Major League Soccer. AFC complete today, anda tomorroy I'll post the NFC. AFC EAST
  3. Hey everyone, I've been following the forum for a long time, and finally I decided to present you my own kit concepts. I will be designing a home and an away kit for existing and future MLS teams. I won't be following a certain order, but I will be sure that all kits are done. I might also include third kits for some teams. I hope you guys will like the concepts I will be posting So, without further ado, here are the kits for Chicago Fire: On the home kit, I was inspired by the home kit worn between 2000 and 2002. I know it looks like the current one, but I think that the navy stripe on the bottom completes the look. The cuffs and the socks were also designed to be consistent with the stripes on the middle. I wanted to integrate Chicago's flag into the away kit, so I was inspired by the away kit Uruguay wore in this year's Copa America. But, then I realized that if a player tucked in his shirt, the flag wouldn't be seen completely. So, I decided to do what Everton did with their home kit last season, and made the top portion of the shorts white and raised the flag a little bit to ensure that all players on the pitch have the same look.
  4. Hello, it's my first time in a good while doing a logo series, but I thought I had some stuff worth sharing. This little series is based on the premise of the owners of the Milwaukee Bucks deciding to expand on their sports holdings and launch expansion teams in various other leagues. I have dubbed this hypothetical enterprise the Deer Sports Empire. Currently, aside from the Bucks they own the Wisconsin Herd. I will be leaving the logos for those teams as is, partially because I really like them and partially because the idea is the owners are launching new teams with similar branding touches (colors, font, etc). I also will not be touching MLB or giving them an NFL team as there's no world where those things would happen. These are the teams and leagues I plan to do so far. A couple are already done or close to finished. As suggestions (hopefully) are made and new ideas come to me I may add to this list. If anyone has a team in a league they would like to see, feel free to make suggestions. I dont have uniform templates for all the different sports so I'm just focusing on uniforms right now. 5. Omaha Transcontinental FC is a Major League Soccer team, located in Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha is known as being a sports city (it is known as the "amateur sports capital of the world"), however, currently it has no professional sports teams. Any team that would be located there would have a high probability for success. The name "Transcontinental" comes from the fact that Omaha was the starting point for the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States. Omaha is home to the headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad, the largest railroad company in the United States, and has a strong association with the railroads and trains in general. Additionally, Omaha is home to many very wealthy people, so that would provide opportunities for local investment and ownership. Badge Description: A 3-pointed shield, with two crossed lines to appear as railroad tracks, with a golden spike (which was used at the symbolic completion of the Transcontinental Railroad), and a soccer ball. Uniforms Description: Features the team's colors (gold on black for home, black on gold for away), with a set of parallel lines running diagonally across the torso (to represent railroad tracks), fading off to the bottom corner. The jersey sponsor is the Union Pacific Railroad. Logo on Backgrounds Promotional Poster Description: Features the Omaha skyline and the club's badge, with the hashtag #HellOnCleats. When the Transcontinental Railroad was built, the moving "town" that followed the workers was known as "Hell On Wheels". From that, the phrase "Hell on Cleats" comes (soccer players wear cleats). Stadium Union Pacific Stadium (would be a new stadium, total capacity: 62,000) Would be shared with the NFL Expansion team, the Omaha Engineers (Concept: https://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/120430-nfl-expansion-x-viperion101/?tab=comments#comment-3034201 . I know on there it says "Locomotives", but the concept, logo, and uniforms would stay the same, the name would just be changed to "Engineers".). The capacity would probably be reduced for soccer, probably only keeping the lower 3 tiers and end seating open.
  6. Hello! I just want to start a concept topic about a mashup of logos of the franchises from each city. The result will be a logo for each city (in NY and LA two logos) representing the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and MLS teams. So, this is the first one: Los Angeles (part I). -City: Los Angeles -Colours: Los Angeles Lakers colours (purple (#552583 ) and gold (#fdb927) -LA letters from the Los Angeles Lakers jersey logo -Ram head from the Los Angeles Rams logo -'Los Angeles' name from the Los Angeles Dodgers jersey logo -Baseball from the Los Angeles Dodgers logo -Crown from the Los Angeles Kings logo -Shape from the LA Galaxy logo Thank you for your time here.
  7. The Revs are in desperate need of an update, so I thought I would try my hand at it. Eventually, I hope this logo gets featured in an entire MLS concept series with some other updated logos + kits. I feel much more comfortable with kit design than logo design, so I could use your help. Here is my first try: (sorry for the empty space, the cropping is off) The badge itself has 6 points and the logo has 6 stars for the 6 New England states. The badge features the tree from the New England flag and the crossing white stripes reminiscent of soldiers in the Continental Army. The fonts are are supposed to give it a bit of a dated feel. The logo also emphasizes the date the Revs were established to highlight the club's history in a league where a lot of clubs have none. My concerns at the moment are about the lack of red in the logo and the readability/recognizability of the red text and the green tree in applications where the logo is shrunken down. Thanks for your constructive comments in advance.
  8. Charlotte Very Much in Play as MLS Mulls Expansion Growth to 30 A few interesting quotes: To me, it seems like Charlotte is in a solid third place for expansion, with St. Louis and Sacramento ahead (with seemingly guaranteed spots), but the 30th spot is open for business. Again, successful international matches held at Bank of America Stadium prove this point. Also, while BoA may not be perfect right now, when the time comes to replace the stadium, both the Panthers & the Charlotte MLS team could negotiate to get something like Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium - a football & soccer stadium. (Also, Tepper has expressed his desire for a domed stadium for the Panthers.) This is a big one: corporate sponsors are already there. Additionally, the new club wouldn't interfere with Atlanta, DC, or even Nashville, given how far apart the clubs are. I'd love it if this happens, I can only hope that it comes to fruition. David Tepper seems to be fully embracing Charlotte and he doesn't have any stadium issues that plague so many other expansion bids (and actually killed the previous Charlotte one). Honestly, while it may not be Atlanta-level successful, Charlotte has a history of hosting successful soccer matches (just the other day Gold Cup matches were that drew 55,000, I believe). The bid isn't perfect, but I think Charlotte has a pretty high chance of landing the 30th MLS team if everything goes smoothly. What do you guys think?
  9. Being from St. Louis I was super pumped about the official announcement that we were getting an expansion team last week. So, I immediately started work on concept jerseys, with full kits to be made out of my favorites later. At this point, we don’t know now the current USL team will be involved, so colors and crest designs are wide open. I just used the current crest but recolored it for each design. I added a St Louis company to be the jersey sponsor on all of the concepts. First up I think is my strongest design. Lions Choice is a regional chain of roast beef restaurants for those of you who have not experienced it’s deliciousness. Think Arby’s but better in every conceivable way. The pattern at the top is supposedly the waveform of a lion roaring. I’m suspicious about that claim but at least it looks cool. Next is a design inspired by the 1950 World Cup jersey. There were 6 St. Louisans on that team so I put 6 Fleur De Lis on the sleeve. The sash stripe is based on the St. Louis Flag. Emerson Electric is a St Louis company that’s been around since like the 1890s so it seemed an appropriate sponsor. Panera Bread started out here being called St Louis Bread co. and is still called that in the St. Louis area. Realistically they’d put Panera on the if they did sponsor the jersey to avoid confusion but I like the thought of putting them Saint Louis on the front. The next two aren’t as strong as these 3 I think. They look fine but there’s nothing that really stands out about them. I’ve never done soccer concepts before and honestly it was way harder than expected. There are no rules with soccer kits, any design goes, so I tried to stay mostly traditional but that’s a fine line to walk between classic and boring. Anyway please C and C. Thanks
  10. I'm not exactly sure what to call this as it's a bit different from the Unused Logos/Jersey thread. This is forgotten history about team name changes, logo rumors and relocation that never -- that kind of stuff. I bring this up for a couple of reasons and I'll illustrate my point to hopefully set the tone of the thread. I was researching the late '80s NBA expansion of Miami, Orlando, Minnesota and Charlotte and found a few interesting nuggets in this article. I knew about the Charlotte Spirit nickname as it wasn't well received, the I found the Florida Heat nickname bit interesting and pretty much forgotten without having to dig pretty far back into news archives to find the reference. Additionally there was The Athletic article yesterday about the Dallas Mavericks aborted rebranding in the late 90s before Mark Cuban bought the team and branded them with their current look. I also found a few mentions in other articles of the possibilities of the Spurs moving to Miami to accommodate both Expansion bids in Florida, since the NBA was originally set to expand only by three instead of four teams. Anyways, I'd love to discover more lost history in other sport leagues since basketball is what I know best. What do you have?
  11. Welcome to what is now my first completed concept series, the NHL City Mashup Series! In this series, I will be taking the identity of each NHL team and combining it with the identity of another team (different sport) in that team's city. Some rules I set for myself were Team must be in either the MLB, NBA, NFL, MLS, or CFL. The jersey must be in the style of the NHL team's jersey. The other team's colours will be the ones on the jersey. The fonts should be either the official team's font or a close matching font. Teams: Anaheim Ducks (Angels) Arizona Coyotes (Cardinals) Boston Bruins (Celtics) Buffalo Sabres (Bills) Calgary Flames (Stampeders) Carolina Hurricanes (Charlotte Hornets) Chicago Blackhawks (Cubs) Colorado Avalanche (Nuggets) Columbus Blue Jackets (Crew) Dallas Stars (Cowboys) Detroit Red Wings (Tigers) Edmonton Oilers (Eskimos) Florida Panthers (Heat) Los Angeles Kings (Dodgers) Minnesota Wild (Twins) Montreal Canadiens (Expos) Nashville Predators (Titans) New Jersey Devils (Jets) New York Islanders (Nets) New York Rangers (Knicks) Ottawa Senators (Redblacks) Philadelphia Flyers (Eagles) Pittsburgh Penguins (Pirates) San Jose Sharks (49ers) St Louis Blues (Cardinals) Tampa Bay Lightning (Buccaneers) Toronto Maple Leafs (Raptors) Vancouver Canucks (Whitecaps) Vegas Golden Knights (Raiders) Washington Capitals (Wizards) Winnipeg Jets (Blue Bombers) without further adieu, here's the first mashup, the Anaheim Angels in the style of the Anaheim Ducks. (Yes, I am aware they aren't the Anaheim Angels, but heck with that) C&C is appreciated! I am also considering doing throwback jerseys for each mashup, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the idea.
  12. Thought i'd do a fun little concept, integrating every team into the teams city name, making a kind of cool design using the teams' names. Not as much of a team concept, but more of a miscellaneous concept series. Let me know what you think and what city you'd like to see! First up, my original home, New York City, featuring every team in the NY metro area. I will start with the five sport cities/metro areas, then four, then three (if i get that far).
  13. So I did a thing I've never done before and I took a stab at a soccer badge concept. I've always appreciated the aesthetics of a good soccer badge, but I've never been a huge soccer fan to be honest. On that note, I don't really know what the prospects of an MLS club in St. Louis are, but I chose to do a St. Louis logo because I think the city has a ton of imagery to draw upon for a great soccer crest. The Arch is the most iconic symbol of the city, so I started with that overall shape that I thought would be unique and stand out among the other logos in the MLS. I also wanted to include the awesome stripes from the city flag. Cliche, I know, but I love the way the blue stripe between the white stripes mimics the Mighty Mississippi. decided to stay away from the Fleur de Lis because Montreal already uses it in their crest. I'm definitely not in a place where I think i have a finished product and I am definitely open to criticism on any and all aspects of the logo. Too simple? Bad color scheme? Nothing is off limits because I am not confident in my ability to to design a soccer crest. Thanks for taking a look and please let me know what you think.
  14. My journey began about a year or two ago when sitting in my hunting blind. A neighbor walked onto my land. He was wearing a blaze orange jacket. That's when I got thinking. I imagined this football stadium packed to the brim of blaze orange jackets in the sunlight during a football game. I came up with the Milwaukee Blazers. I began to read up on the football history in Milwaukee. From Packer football at County Stadium to the third AFL's Milwaukee Chiefs and the NFL's Milwaukee Badgers. But one thing caught hold of me. In 1965,Marvin Fishman, the original owner of the Bucks, tried to obtain an expansion team from the AFL. But Vince Lombardi signed a lease to keep playing various Packer games at County Stadium until 1976. But what if Milwaukee had gotten an AFL team? I imagine they would have been called the Whitetails or something until the 80s or so when the state made blaze orange or some kinda of orange or pink mandatory to wear during gun season. "But what about the Bucks?" you ask. The Bucks original name was going to be the Robins due to a name the team poll but was changed because they felt Bucks was more fitting. The now Bucks would be the Robins. My odyssey through the creation of the Milwaukee Blazers franchise ends in the present day. But not the way it started. Miller Park can't hold a football field, but it can hold a football pitch. three football matches have been played at Miller Park, the latest being F.C. Pachuca vs Club Leon. I said to myself,"If Yankee Stadium can have an MLS club why, can't Miller Park." The finished project looks like this. The logo puts the buck head in front of the tricolor of brown, orange, and white to mimic the german flag because of Milwaukee's big german influence. The Orange is the Primary while the Brown is the secondary and the white is the clash or warm weather kit. That's my journey through creating a present day football team, alt history team, and a football club. Hope you enjoy.
  15. Inter Miami Kit Concept
  16. A companion series to "Players in the 'wrong' uniforms" and "Players on the right team but wrong uniform"...this is about players who spent most of their careers in crappy unis. Obviously the poster boy here is Tom Brady. But there are others. There must be others.
  17. Hello, everyone, I'm vtgco! I've lurked on these forums for a while now, and I finally decided to sign up for an account and post my first topic, because... ...after a few less successful attempts, I have finally created a concept for my Seattle Sounders that I like! Despite being an enthusiastic fan of the team, I don't particularly like their current logo. Its strangely shaped shields and redundant white & gray outlines feel poorly weighted, the Space Needle is inaccurately depicted in a gray color, and the banner hogs the spotlight. Worst of all, though, the current logo doesn't even represent the beloved Puget Sound, the namesake of the team! I think my concept addresses some of these issues, while also combining the different eras of Sounders logo history. So, first off, I decided to use a hexagonal, emerald shape for the Emerald City's team. I also wanted to use a kelly/emerald green, because I don't like the obnoxious lime green, because it's closer to the color of both trees (Seattle has a lot of those) and emeralds, and because the NASL and USL Sounders used a darker green. I created a new, more accurately colored and shaped Space Needle silhouette. I brought in the NASL era-style waves to represent the Puget Sound. I paired it with the NASL era wordmark, which I really love, and kept the current logo's "Seattle" font. For A & B, I wanted to have versions that used similar colors and format (green on top of blue) to the current logo. For C & D, I incorporated the NASL-era teal, creating an abstract image of a typical view of the Puget Sound (light blue sky, green islands, deep blue water). It also semi-intentionally looks like the local SoundTransit buses, which apparently was once the jersey sponsor for the USL-era Sounders. I might do some alternate logos and jerseys, so hopefully you guys can help me decide between these four versions before I move on! Your input is appreciated. Thanks! TL;DR: I really like retro Sounders stuff. Help me choose a version of my logo, plz

  19. International Miami FC A concept for a Miami MLS club. Art deco and colors for Miami, and every attempt to solidify this as MLS' first internationally known club.
  20. Self-explaining... Their current mark: http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/h8ga63uac257c37js2m47hqke/Houston_Dynamo/2006/Primary_Logo
  21. I've been lurking here for a while, and I finally decided to post something of my own. I'm only just starting out, so c&c is greatly appreciated. I will try to get through every team in the MLS, home and away, but I might go back and add some third jerseys if it goes well. Teams: Atlanta United FC - Updated Chicago Fire Columbus Crew SC D.C. United - Updated Montreal Impact - Updated New England Revolution - Updated New York City FC New York Red Bulls Orlando City SC - Updated Philadelphia Union Toronto FC Colorado Rapids FC Dallas Houston Dynamo LA Galaxy - Updated Minnesota United FC Portland Timbers Real Salt Lake San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders FC - Updated Sporting Kansas City Vancouver Whitecaps FC - Updated
  22. Hey guys, remember me? No? Oh well. I actually made these a year or two ago, and just never got around to posting them. Now I am back from my hiatus and am ready to post some kicky-sphere concepts. (This is actually an MLS redesign but don't tell anyone) Onto the first team, Atlanta United FC For the primary, I basically took their current home and made it stripier, because Adidas needs to lose their shameless plugs (3 stripes on the front of the jersey Editors Note: It's really hard to write about changes after not writing about changes For the clash, I felt like we didn't need two sets of stripes, so I tried something different (I may go back and edit the sash because I don't like how it is now, I just took these and posted them.) Anyways, this was I actually believe my first or second attempt at a soccer jersey, so obviously it's gonna be rough, I'll grow over time. Philly or Chicago next!
  23. So as you should know, the Columbus Crew of the MLS have been having some problems with securing a new stadium in Columbus. So, instead of moving them to Austin (that would just make too many Texas teams in that small of a market area,) I decided to move them to St. Louis, Missouri. They would keep the name and colors, but with a new logo. I decided that the Gateway Arch would be the focus for the logo. Also, the kits would stay the same (excpet for it saying St. Louis instead of Columbus) Here's the logo!
  24. Atlanta United is rumored to be doing away with their inaugural away kits, which is a good thing in my view as they were pretty boring. I love their red and black striped kit, and wanted to keep the "5 Stripes" in my concept kit as well. It's an all black idea, so I thought it may work better as a 3rd kit rather than their main away kit. I may attempt an away kit as well on this thread in the future.
  25. I created a new concept for the Chicago Fire 3rd kit. The current away and 3rd kits are both based on the Chicago flag, so I thought it was time to change it up. These Jerseys are based on a fire fighter's uniform, The neon and silver accents would be a reflective material similar to that of a fire fighter's uniform. (the image with the black background is meant to show off the reflective accents.) This is what the reflective material looks like in action (Lower Left) This is also seen on the new Tampa Bay Jerseys Although The CFD wears black uniforms I wanted to keep at least on team color on the jersey.
