  1. At the University of Mississippi, the athletic teams are the heart of the student body. Whether it is a crisp Autumn Saturday Locking the Vaught, getting weird at the Pavilion, or a sunny and 75 beer shower at Swayze, it is safe to say that the Rebels are the largest entity that can unite the students, faculty, fanbase, and state as one giant, high-spirited, hospitable, and often inebriated, family. With that being said, why not try to unite the different sports teams, at least in uniform aesthetics? With this concept, that is exactly what I have attempted to do. What it will consist of are football, baseball, and basketball uniforms and their various combinations, as well as a "new" group of wordmarks and number font that will send Ole Miss into this new era of national recognition and success in one recognizable and "fresh" brand, while still encapsulating and embracing the traits and nuances of the Rebel legends before them (How ya like that for "Nike-speak," eh?). Forward Together, Rebs. We are Ole Miss.
  2. I did a series of NCAA baseball concepts this time last year; I did the entire SEC as well as many other NCAA baseball programs. You can see that thread here: This year, I will revisit the SEC concepts on hopefully improve on them. The first two I've done are Mississippi State and Arkansas, both of which I am very happy with. -- Mississippi State has the potential for a great baseball uniform set. They look good as it is, but a few simple tweaks and they could have a classic, untouchable look. Here, I've introduced a new, consistent number font. That same font has been applied to the "Mississippi State" wordmark and has been used to create a new "Bulldogs" wordmark. A Mississippi patch has been added to the sleeve of each jersey. The white and maroon jerseys remain with the modified wordmark and number font. The pinstripe and maroon MS jerseys also remain, with the only change being the updated number font. The "Bulldogs" wordmark is applied to the cream jersey and to a new gray away jersey. These changes, I believe, would unify Mississippi State's baseball brand. Adidas would be allowed to introduce two crazy alternates a year, for use in the SEC tournament only. I based Arkansas on their Nike rebrand from this past summer. The classic A logo stays, and the new Razorback logo has been added to the sleeve as a patch. The number font has been updated; the new slanted wordmarks seem tailor-made for baseball.
  3. The College World Series is one of my favorite sports post-season tournaments- I find it more entertaining than March Madness and the actual MLB World Series. That probably has something to do with the fact that Mississippi State is good at baseball but sucks at basketball, but I digress. The one thing that the College World Series lacks is a good logo- the current logo is gradient heavy and looks outdated: My concept keeps the same home plate shape, but revamps the color scheme and fonts to give it more of a baseball feel. The color scheme used is dark green, cream, and dark gray. Blue from the NCAA logo is also used. This is just a first draft- any suggestions would be welcomed.
