  1. I just heard today that they announced the new mascot (although it still needs to be approved my the UT regents) for the new school that will start next year. University of Texas - Pan America (UTPA) and University of Texas - Brownsville (UTB) will combine next year to from the newly named NCAA Division 1 school University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and will be know as the "Vaqueros" (which is spanish for "Cowboys"). The official colors will be Orange, Green and Blue as these are a combo of the previous school colors on the logos shown below. No logos have been announce yet but their is talk that they will use a logo of the statue that is on the UTPA campus, also shown below. They will take the place of UTPA in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) starting next fall in all sports. Your thoughts on the name and a design for a new logo? http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=1118977
