  1. What bothered me most of all was the image searches on google. Seems to me there were a lot of mistakes and images that were either where I didn't see metallic silver blue or pewter colored ones, but from these two images maybe we can discuss some what if and should of from the 1970's NFL all the way til now. I am dabbling with designs myself on uniforms, but I need to get some private free time as there is many nosy people where I live at. Here is the images, The first one seems to have everything, even Denver Blue(?)??!!! Well I see extra bright metallic silver, but I do not see metallic silver blue. I seen sunflower gold which is used for ASU or maybe, not sure. But this is pretty interesting that I do not see dark teal or what we call midnight green helmets which those are more in the dark green shell category. I wonder if the Philadelphia Eagles use dark green helmets instead then. I see metallic burnt orange, but the one next to it seems too much like safety orange than burnt orange to me. Then there is Oakland silver which looks darker than silver. Hmmm, I am curious as to what your preferences or your thoughts on this as to I am kind of wondering or confused with the idea of two versions which the second being a metallic version of it! Then I see this!!! Well, there are 25 shell colors. This time I see the Dallas blue one, but for some reason there is the face guard colors. I see there is even a cardinal version or scarlet version which doesn't look scarlet, but more like cardinal to me. I felt the Arizona Cardinals should of did this and ditch the grey facemask. But the grey is a standard as it's code number is 01. I see that the standard number on white looks like 08 as a number code for the shell and facemask. Here is where this one comes from, This is from xenith-helmet-colors and the search from it. I noticed the athletic gold seems darker on the image which is probably the lighting mistake or perhaps. But it's correct compared to the standard paint colors. Kansas Blue should of been the choice for Denver, Los Angeles, and New York Giants from 1968, 1973, and 1976 or 1980 respectfully. But I can see why they didn't use it as the name Kansas Blue was a problem from the teams to use either way. Columbia Blue, oh I know UNC uses that. I know Michigan State uses kelly green shells. And South Bend Gold, on that's pure Notre Dame alright. Well, this one seems to have some but most. I guess if color werx takes a look at this, I would be charmed to see if he can come up with some ideas to use his palettes and we can pull out some sources. Here is my conclusion. I guess by 2000, the Raiders made their silver darker and made it trademarked to their uniform and identity. I know Tampa Bay did that with pewter. Everyone knows University of Kansas and their blue which matches the jerseys that they wear that is the same color jerseys the 1973-1999 Rams and the 1980-1999 Giants have or had which makes me wonder that the Giants went with metallic royal blue in 2000 which was a smart idea whilst the Rams did the opposite and utilized navy blue and then change the athletic gold to vegas gold which vegas gold is much more drab than that of old gold which you all see in these two of three images. Nike seem to have a problem creating old gold as to why I do not see the Saints throwbacks until the color rush uniforms make a identified version of it but from their 1975 years where they still wore white pants. Now, San Francisco has their own version of gold which is totally different from the other ones, Gee, I wonder why they went to all that trouble. Well, I wonder what is your conclusion to this?
  2. I never liked the Giants lower case "ny" primary logo, especially not on their helmets. I always preferred the old "GIANTS" wordmark because it used more space on the helmet and it reminded us of the famous 1980's Phil Simms era. In contrast to the old white GIANTS helmet logo, this one is having blue and red outlines to complement the helmet stripe. The helmet itself has a white facemask and its shell remains dark metallic blue. The basic design and look of the wordmark remains, except for slight changes. Logo detail
  3. So I'm a huge Giants fan, and I've never really been on board with their current road uniform. The thing about it that really bugs me is that blue is practically absent from the whole uniform, except for the helmet, which looks out of place because neither the jersey nor the pants have much blue on them at all. I don't understand why a team nicknamed "Big Blue" can have a home jersey that is all blue and a road jersey that has no blue on it whatsoever. So, I've made my own version of what I think the Giants should be wearing on the road. The concept mixes elements from their current road jersey, like the stripes on the sleeves, and from the one they wore from 2000 to 2004, like the blue collar and the red numbers w/ blue outline. As a fan, I believe this would be a big upgrade from what they are currently wearing. Let me know what you think.
  4. Here are the first two teams of my NFC East vision. The Dallas Cowboys and NY Giants:
  5. Okay, so, my recent NFL Re-Design Project kind of took a back seat to other things lately, however, I actually have been working on some new logos recently. I know I would just post them before as part of my reveal with the project, but these are ones I'm not satisfied enough with yet to consider them complete. Cleveland Browns: I actually liked the old "B" logo, but there were more than a couple flaws with it. I've been working on this logo the longest of the bunch, especially with the recent news of the Browns getting an overhaul/re-design. I've had the idea, much like OSV, to switch out the white to something else. I was thinking a cream color first like the SF Giants, but that was too dark, so I went in between with an antique/vintage white, and I like that. I worked over the "CB" part of this thing numerous times. I started with just a "CB" side by side, too plain. I interlocked them and threw an outline, okay but didn't look good to me, especially with the B almost touching the outer edge. So I went with something I'm really liking, in a unique attempt to have the letters blend into the design (which mimics the Browns helmet). San Diego Chargers: Again, I always preferred the 'horse shield' as a primary. I simply updated it to something I'm decently pleased with. I prefer to keep the navy as the primary color, leaving the powder/collegiate blue as a secondary. New York Gaints: I've always had some sort of idea about putting the skyscrapers (Chrysler Building; Empire State Building, etc) on the helmet somehow. After much thought and deliberation, I decided to do a NY skyline theme for the helmet. Yes, I took inspiration for the primary shape from the other team in New York (don't worry, I'm not keeping anything like this for the Jets) to accomplish this. Arizona Cardinals: I've always wanted to do an alternate for the Cardinals. I liked the idea of the flag design on the sleeves, but never liked it simply being the flag itself. So what I've done here is taken the flag design itself and put it inside a shield. For anyone in Arizona, they should be able to recognize where the shield design comes from/is inspired from. I'm actually looking to get some feedback on these. Anything I can do to make them better. That's really the point of posting these in a separate thread, instead of with the 'reveal' in the main thread.
  6. I'm pretty sure the Giants are wearing white pants this week vs. the Cowboys, which is a departure from the typical grey. At first I thought it was just the contrast against the Coybows ugly blue/grey pants. But those are definitely white. Any idea if this is going to be a consistent thing? Also I really hope this doesn't mean a white monochrome uniform combo.
  7. This is my first post - excited to get some internet criticism. Plan on completely redesigning or simply tweaking each NFL team, based on my own personal preference and C&C. Starting with the NFC East with the Washington Redskins, far and away the most drastic change I plan on making. It's ridiculous that we still carelessly throw around a racial slur when we talk about football in Washington, so the 'Skins are getting re-branded. Hold onto your skirts, ladies, because here are your Washington Federals: Stay tuned for the rest of the NFC East and (eventually) the entire NFL.
  8. Based on Gothamite's post here... http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/91738-teams-that-just-need-to-change-their-wordmark-or-number-font/page__st__20#entry1973494 Mets road jersey with old New York Giants wordmark
