Hey everyone, this is my first time logging in to the forums since 2015. Not sure why, but I just kinda faded away for a while. BUT NOW I'M BACK. Back then, I was just a commenter and had no artistic skill or knowledge on how to create logos and uniforms, but since then I have worked on my skills in Photoshop. Currently, I am a sophomore at Springfield College and working as the Director of Hockey Operations for our mens ACHA club hockey team. (Just a fancy name for a team manager) I have been working on game day graphics and running different accounts and such. It is a lot of fun, but there is one thing we are lacking. That is a great logo. The school has gone dull and last year came out with a new logo which is a basic block 'S' similar to Syracuse and Michigan State. It is so dull and boring compared to other schools we play. So, I took it upon myself to create a new logo for our club hockey team. As of now, I am trying to get it approved so we can use it in future apparel and other stuff like that. I know it's really basic but it's my first real concept that I made on my own. Currently I haven't shown anyone other than some of the players and coaches, so still unsure if it can or will get approved by the school. Let me know what you guys think of it and if I should change anything around. Thanks!
I got curious about the Thunderbirds' jerseys, and I was underwhelmed. They're not awful, but they seem like an unnecessarily templated mess that tries too hard to be modern. Here's my fix. Home Away Alternate The home and away are classic, but modern, designs that I make quite often. The alternate is based on the Panthers' new home jersey, since the T-Birds are the Panthers' minor league affiliate, and that's that. Pretty simple. What do you think?
Hello all! I was gone away for two months because my computer died, taking with it my Inkscape files. Oops. This time around, I know that, just because I can't open an Inkscape file from Dropbox doesn't mean I can't save it there. I got my new laptop a few days ago, and what a surprise it was to go to The Clink Room and discover that one of my designs is going to production! Check it out here: http://www.theclinkroom.com/designed-by-clinkers/draft-day-spring-2014/ So I'm inspired to submit another design. I've been dying to do a steampunk branding, and discovered that both Springfield, Ohio and Springfield, Massachusetts afforded opportunities in that vein, so I decided to have a little fun with the backstory. I'm having trouble with a couple of things. I'm not happy with the serifs I glommed on to the S (they're actually trimmed-down versions of symbols from a Victorian dingbat set). Also, I'm not happy with the outlines. I used the offset tool on Inkscape to produce them, but they got rather mutated in the process, and I feel it's not so clear that the negative spaces in the S are supposed to be gears. I also *really* wish that they had a darker brown fabric available for the crown of the hat, but they don't. Thanks--and it's great to be back. :-)
