  1. Hey everyone, Inspired by @Bruins starting of the Star Wars League (in which only one spot is remaining, so feel free to join) and my own revival of love for Star Wars with last year's The Force Awakens, I decided to try to make some baseball uniforms of my very own. This series is going to utilize the 30 cities that are currently a part of Major League Baseball, but with Star Wars inspired names. Most of the teams won't be very much inspired by their actual MLB counterpart, as much as they will be by aspects of the city itself. I'm also going to try to make Force Awakens and Rogue One special alternates for teams whenever applicable, to commemorate the new movies. Anyway, starting off the series today with the Arizona Speeders! Uniforms -Credit for the name goes to @Pulv! for this one, and I'm excited to see what she does for the League team. The name makes sense for the desert feel that Arizona brings, much like Tatooine. -The colors are a pretty natural choice, as they are the main colors of Luke's landspeeder in Episode IV. -The font is meant to evoke speed, with the actual speeder hovering over it. The piping is meant to resemble all of the curved lines and patterns you see on a landspeeder. -For some of these teams I'm gonna need to get really creative with the player names, and for this one I looked up the names of some different speeder models and utilized them. -The Force Awakens alternate is inspired by Rey's self-made landspeeder, with the main colors being maroon and dark gray. From what I saw, there weren't any speeders in Rogue One (I really hope that's not a spoiler for anybody) so there's isn't an alternate for it. Feel free to let me know what you think about the first team of this series!
  2. I was gonna wait till after the Lympiad to post this, but what the hey. As a member of @sleuthpanther's incredibly awesome SCAA (Check it out if you haven't), I can appreciate the great feeling of being a member of a league and running a team of your own. So I wanted to create another league of members but with a different twist. That's where the SWFL was born. I don't know how much interest this will get although I'm hoping I'll be able to get as many Sports Freak/ Geek combos like myself involved as possible! Here's a rundown of the league: 16 teams. 2 conferences. Light and Dark. No interconference play. That's the league in its simplest terms. Teams As is stated above, there will be 16 teams in the SWFL, 8 in the Light Conference, 8 in the Dark Conference. Team names will be the name of a U.S. City or State with a Star Wars character, species, etc. as the team name. I know that Planet names seem like they would make more sense, but not for this league considering it takes place on earth. It is not a bunch of Wookiees or Jedis on a football team, It's an actual football league with a Star Wars centered theme. I don't have it drawn up yet, but my team will be the New York Empire in the Dark Conference. The rest is free for your interpretation! Logos The logos can be whatever you want them to be as long as the main logo shows a clear reference to the character(s) and there is an alternate and tertiary. Only Logos for now You One team for one member, unless there aren't 15 interested members during a point I will determine. You can do whatever you want with your team other than uniforms for right now, and I'm really interested to see exactly what identity this will shape into. But again, this is not Vader on a gridiron, it is just a very strong theme. If you are interested, please PM me with your proposed team name, do not post here. Once I approve it, go crazy with logos and whatever else, besides uniforms. If you have any questions, you can PM me or post here and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible, because I do surf the boards often (Pun intended if you want). Please let me know if I missed anything keeping in mind this is very rough right now, but I will go further with ideas once this takes a bigger shape. May the Force Be With You, CCSLC. 3. So recently I've been bored with making logos but recently I decided to make this fun little league after watching The Force Awakens. My skills have gotten quite rusty over the past weeks of my hiatus so C&C is appreciated! For the font I used the Star Wars language called Aurebesh. Coruscant The planet-wide city pays homage to the Old Republic and Jedi with the logo of the republic and silhouette of the jedi temple. The yellow jersey was made to celebrate the downfall of the Empire. The grey is an accurate representation of the scheme of the planet. First Order The emblem of the First Order is present around the exterior of the Starkiller Base-pride of the evil faction-while a small "F.O." is situated in the middle of the roundel. Tatooine Famous for it's two suns, Tatooine FC uses that symbol a lot in their kits and crest. The duel stripes and the two circles give outsiders a clear interpretation of what planet they're going up against. I have at least two more planets planned at the moment but if any other Star Wars fans would like to suggest more i'd be happy to create them!
  4. FIRST LET ME SAY THIS IS NOT MY WORK. I just thought that it looked excellent and wanted to share. the direct link is http://imgur.com/gallery/M2H2p all accolades goes to the original creator
  5. I've seen similar logos in the past, but these are all well done. I could see many of them working for a D-league team or a baseball farm club. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Star-Wars-Sports-Logos/5818581
