  1. NBA Reverse Retro Series Why hello everyone! It has been years since I've been on the boards, but it's great to be back! With my first topic back, I wanted to tackle a project I worked on for fun late last year. The NBA Reverse Retro Series. After the NHL put out their Reverse Retro series of uniforms, I wondered what it might look like if the NBA did a similar thing. Now it is way harder to bring back a classic look for some teams because they never really left their classic look. The rules I set for this project were simple. Bring back a classic uniform from sometime in each team's history, but altered to fit their current colour scheme. Just like the NHL, team's could go back in their history, even wearing a jersey from a different city. Similar to what the Avalanche did with the Nordiques uniform. To start, this is the teaser, with each team represented and the year which the uniform is based on. I found all the logos and examples of the original uniforms from right on this site, Sportslogos.net. I will add, I won't be making any changes at this point, I finished this project about a month ago, but I wanted to share it here and see what people think of this idea. C&C is appreciated!
  2. So I have been tinkering with several different options for the OKC Thunder this coming season. These are based off of the city & statement collections, as if they brought them into their regular rotation. Sorry for the crudeness of the drawing. Let me know what you all think.
  3. OKC's Statement uniforms could make for an interesting and unique look if they were to incorporate that design into a full set. I put together a few jerseys to see what that could look like. What do you think? EDIT: Here are a couple alternate white looks. (Special thanks to @R3G for sharing your template!)
  4. A while back, I took a stab at an Oklahoma City Thunder concept. The basic idea of the concept was to combine simple, bold elements with more detailed and technical designs derived from Western and Native American culture. I thought that in principle my ideas were good, but the whole thing was a bit rushed. I ended up making a lot of execution mistakes that didn't make the set look the greatest. I knew though that with some work I could make the concept really dope. So, I took a look back at what I had done and created Mark II of my OKC Thunder concept. First, we start with the marks. I kept the basic ideas from my first concept (the Oklahoma Sunrise pattern, the monogram logo), refining them further. The biggest change is the shape and alignment of the letters in the monogram. In the first concept, while the elements being inside of the O was a clean and simple, a lot of people had a hard time distinguishing what was what in the logo. This time, I opted for a long, more horizontal O and a big K, which gives the logo a clearer and bolder look. In addition, the C is much more noticeable and part of the logo than before. Like before, the logo has Oklahoma Sunrise and plain white variants. And now, for the uniforms. The biggest problem with the original uniforms was that the Oklahoma Sunrise striping pattern on the side panels was too thin and created a vibrating effect when viewed from far away. In addition, I didn't like the way that the wordmark and the logos on the shorts looked. Therefore, I updated the striping pattern, making it bolder and more pronounced. The uniform typeface is different, using a bolder font with more subtle Western styling. I also changed the shorts logo accordingly throughout the uniforms. Thanks for taking a look! If you could leave some comments and critiques it would be much appreciated!
  5. As a Jazz fan who's not a huge fan of the current design (minus the City Edition jersey), I figured I would try my hand at redesigning the team. Changing the colors to dark purple, teal, and copper, the team resurrects a snowflake logo. The Association uniform is off-white, the Icon uniform purple, the Statement uniform teal, and the new City Edition uniform a gradient going from pewter blue to dark blue. C&C welcome!
  6. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
