  1. It's Labor Day, so you know what that means. Dallas vs. Tampa Bay Seattle vs. Indianapolis Jacksonville vs. Houston Philadelphia vs. Atlanta LA Chargers vs. Washington Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo San Francisco vs. Detroit Minnesota vs. Cincinnati NY Jets vs. Carolina Arizona vs. Tennessee Cleveland vs. Kansas City Miami vs. New England Denver vs. NY Giants Green Bay vs. New Orleans Chicago vs. LA Rams Baltimore vs. Las Vegas Good luck. VERY LATE EDIT (9/14) -- maybe I should've mentioned this, and thankfully it hasn't come up yet, but in the case of any forfeitures in the NFL this season, I am not counting those as wins in case you picked the team declared the "winner". It's chaotic, random, and unpredictable for the most part (even if we know some of the teams with the biggest vaccine-skeptics and, thus, highest risks). I don't really care for someone to end up winning the competition by a game thanks in part to being on the "right" side of a forfeiture while someone else was on the "wrong" side of one. Forfeit games are the equivalent of ties - they won't count.
  2. Welcome to the 2020 NFL Weekly Picks Contest. Season begins on Thursday night. You guys know how this works by now, so I'll spare the digital ink (and if you don't, click on the "weekly picks" tag; it's explained in the previous seasons threads). Week 1: Houston vs. Kansas City NY Jets vs. Buffalo Cleveland vs. Baltimore Seattle vs. Atlanta Chicago vs. Detroit Las Vegas vs. Carolina Philadelphia vs. Washington Miami vs. New England Green Bay vs. Minnesota Indianapolis vs. Jacksonville LA Chargers vs. Cincinnati Tampa Bay vs. New Orleans Arizona vs. San Francisco Dallas vs. LA Rams Pittsburgh vs. NY Giants Tennessee vs. Denver Good luck.
  3. NFL season starts on Thursday night with the Packers playing the Bears. With that in mind, it's time to open up this season's Weekly Picks competition. I don't need to explain the rules*; this is my fifth season doing this (still can't believe that it seems like just yesterday when I took over the competition; time flies), so you guys know how I do it by now. Good luck to everyone here, and good luck to your teams, except for you guys in the NFC South who will all be fighting for playoff spots that the Bucs won't be fighting for. Week 1: Green Bay vs. Chicago Kansas City vs. Jacksonville Atlanta vs. Minnesota Tennessee vs. Cleveland Buffalo vs. NY Jets Baltimore vs. Miami Washington vs. Philadelphia LA Rams vs. Carolina Indianapolis vs. LA Chargers Cincinnati vs. Seattle NY Giants vs. Dallas San Francisco vs. Tampa Bay Detroit vs. Arizona Pittsburgh vs. New England Houston vs. New Orleans Denver vs. Oakland I try to have the standings updated by about noon on Tuesday at the latest. That's the standard I adopted in 2017 and have stuck with. It can be earlier than that as well, depending on various circumstances, but they should be submitted no later than that point. If I'm going to be out-of-town early in a week and that deadline might be untenable, I'll make a note of it ahead of time. Thankfully, it doesn't appear I'll be displaced by a hurricane during the first weekend of the season this time around. Wasn't much fun last year, though compared to most people I know I had it much better than they did. -- *I lied. One rules reminder: Picks for the specific games are to be in by the kickoff of those respective games. I do believe in the honor system with this game. People here have lives, things get forgotten about, sometimes a game might accidentally be forgotten to be selected out of the vast Sunday swath (though I'm hoping to amend that a bit if I post the week's schedule in advance). If a game is forgotten about, you can send a DM or send me a tweet (@KramerIndustry) and, more often than not, I will be generous enough to give credit. If Cleveland is facing New England and NE wins and you forget to make that pick, then I'll logically presume NE would've been the pick and give the nod (do they even play each other this year? Who cares) (EDIT: It took several years to happen but that's finally a bad example, but you get the idea all the same). All I will ask is not to abuse this, is all.
  4. NFL seasons starts on Thursday night with the Falcons playing the Eagles. With that in mind, it's time to open up this season's Weekly Picks competition. I don't need to explain the rules*; this is my fourth season doing this, so you guys know how I do it by now. Good luck to everyone here, and good luck to your teams, except for you guys in the NFC South who will all be fighting for playoff spots that the Bucs won't be fighting for. That's the standard I adopted as last season went along. It can be earlier than that as well, depending on various circumstances, but they should be submitted no later than that point. 5. With the NFL regular set to begin on Thursday night, I am pleased to announce that this year's Weekly Picks contest is now open. This is my third year running this competition, and I'm very excited to go through this again. It makes the NFL more fun. Week 1: Kansas City vs. New England Tampa Bay vs. Miami Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland NY Jets vs. Buffalo Atlanta vs. Chicago Baltimore vs. Cincinnati Arizona vs. Detroit Jacksonville vs. Houston Oakland vs. Tennessee Philadelphia vs. Washington Indianapolis vs. LA Rams Seattle vs. Green Bay Carolina vs. San Francisco NY Giants vs. Dallas New Orleans v. For my own convenience, I do record both wins and losses, but ultimately wins is the only category that matters. -- (wtf, this is the third straight season the Giants are in Dallas to open the season. Fix the schedule generator, NFL.) EDIT - thanks @ninersdd; not sure what happened there.
