  1. NBA Reverse Retro Series Why hello everyone! It has been years since I've been on the boards, but it's great to be back! With my first topic back, I wanted to tackle a project I worked on for fun late last year. The NBA Reverse Retro Series. After the NHL put out their Reverse Retro series of uniforms, I wondered what it might look like if the NBA did a similar thing. Now it is way harder to bring back a classic look for some teams because they never really left their classic look. The rules I set for this project were simple. Bring back a classic uniform from sometime in each team's history, but altered to fit their current colour scheme. Just like the NHL, team's could go back in their history, even wearing a jersey from a different city. Similar to what the Avalanche did with the Nordiques uniform. To start, this is the teaser, with each team represented and the year which the uniform is based on. I found all the logos and examples of the original uniforms from right on this site, Sportslogos.net. I will add, I won't be making any changes at this point, I finished this project about a month ago, but I wanted to share it here and see what people think of this idea. C&C is appreciated!
  2. Hey what's up, everyone! For the past years, I've been known for football concepts, but my first love has always been basketball. I've been doing NBA uniform mockups since elementary. My love for sports logos started with NBA, and I frequently browse for NBA logos on the mothership. And now, after a few years of conceptualizing (I created some new logos two years ago), I now unveil my NBA uniform (for some teams, logos) concepts! Though the teams below are listed by division, I'm unveiling the uniforms randomly. The main component for all uniforms is that the NBA logo on the jerseys is now brought back to the front right side, eliminating the use of sponsor patches. However, the Nike logo is still located in its current position. And for uniformity, I eliminated the championship tag on the back of the jerseys. EASTERN CONFERENCE Atlantic: Boston | Brooklyn | Miami (v.2) | New York | Orlando | Philadelphia (Statement v.2) | Toronto (v.2) | Washington Central: Atlanta (v.2) | Charlotte | Chicago (v.2) | Cleveland | Detroit | Indiana (City v.2) | Milwaukee | Minnesota WESTERN CONFERENCE Midwest: Dallas (v.2) | Denver | Houston | Memphis (v.2) | New Orleans | Oklahoma City (v.2) | San Antonio | Utah Pacific: Golden State | LA Clippers | LA Lakers | Portland | Phoenix | Sacramento | Seattle
  3. While there is this movement for the new Washington NFL name, I was thinking about Washington's NBA team, the Wizards. Everyone hates the name and the logo has gone further away from that name. So I was thinking what if they finally change the name to something more appropriate? To go along with NHL's Capitals and MLB's Nationals, the name should be more DC centric. One name that always pops up is Metros. I think that name needs work, then I saw a defunct MLS name the NY/NJ Metrostars. And that actually fits with the logo itself, a DC landmark and a star! So I just changed the bottom of the logo and removed one of the red lines. And just for fun, I made a secondary logo with a basketball and star in the middle with W and M on the top and bottom
  4. Took me like 2 minutes to do this so ignore any errors that I was too lazy to fix. but basically I made this because I always wanted the wizards to have the timberwolves jerseys and the timberwolves to keep the old jerseys they used to have
  5. As a Jazz fan who's not a huge fan of the current design (minus the City Edition jersey), I figured I would try my hand at redesigning the team. Changing the colors to dark purple, teal, and copper, the team resurrects a snowflake logo. The Association uniform is off-white, the Icon uniform purple, the Statement uniform teal, and the new City Edition uniform a gradient going from pewter blue to dark blue. C&C welcome!
  6. I thought the Bullets old jerseys were a bit too messy. and that their 90's jerseys were too red and unpleasant for the eyes. so I tried to do something in between. Their court I thought had far too much empty space and too small logos. so I pulled them up a bit. and I fixed some angels on the primary logo.
  7. Sidney

    NBA rebrand

Hi lads, I've been working for days on few NBA teams, give me your feedbacks! https://www.behance.net/SidneyN-F
  8. This is my first jersey swap and I think it came out well. I figured I'd share it with you all and hopefully receive feedback and areas of focus to make the necessary improvements in future Jersey swaps and photo edits. I will also take a few request so that I can continue to gain experience. Logo credit: Conrad.
  9. Both ESPN and this site use this logo as the primary Washington Wizards logo: I went to a game at Verizon Center this year and didn't see it in any signage at all. It's also not currently used on the web site. They prefer either the hand: Or the monument: Does anyone definitively know the current practice? I don't follow the Wizards that closely, but it's kind of jarring when I see the red, white and blue wizard on ESPN highlights.
  10. Hello Sports Logos World!! I've been surfing this site for years, and I've always had some pretty great ideas for concepts/rebranding/colors/alignment(etc.). I'm an amateur at photoshop, and use the most basic sites for design, and my designs are usually recoloring, and reconfiguring already existing brand fonts/unis/logos(etc.). But I've always enjoyed it, and now want to share my ideas with you good people. I've always hated the 'Wizards' brand, and wish they reverted back to the 'Bullets'. BUT, I understand the type of b.s. that would come of that, especially in the capital... So, why don't we make some concessions and meet in the middle to create a brand identity that relates to the United States Capital, and not with Hogwarts. Actually, this name I came up with has been used before in the ABA, in Brooklyn, NY, from 1941-42. Introducing, the Washington Americans! http://grab.by/pqXS (I hope this link works) Below is the Primary Wordmark (again, just a reconfigured image from the secondary Wizards logo) http://grab.by/pr0a Please let me know what you think, and maybe some other ideas for a Washington rebrand that doesn't include "Sea Dogs".
  11. Here is a rehashing of a logo I did that was featured in the DC City Paper back in 2011. New wordmarks and secondaries and a couple edits to the primary. Their current stuff is an improvement over the previous, but is also a mish-mash of randomness and I think lacks overall cohesiveness. Trying to fix that here. *Yes, the Wizard bears resemblance to Dave Grohl, unintentional, though he is from a Virginia suburb 5 miles from DC where he went to high school and was highly influenced from bands playing at DC's best venues. Complete chance that this happened. Edit: Uniforms added
