Los Angeles Tar Tigers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, this is a kind of old concept I made for a minor league baseball team, but I never posted here. Im not really looking for critiques that much, but I figured some people may be interested to see it. The concept is based off of the La Brea tar pits and the saber tooth tigers that were trapped in them. The full project can be seen HERE.

I like this. Strange name and colours, but it works for the Minor Leagues. No real problems that I can see - maybe the eyes need an iris - but I don't follow baseball much.

I know you aren't really looking for critique but I think pupils in the Tiger's eyes would be a big improvement.

I'm also not crazy about the font used for La Brea/LA

Every now and then, something is posted here that I wish I thought of. This is very much one of those times. :notworthy:

Not in the last round of selections, at any rate.

That's great fun, nice work man. I like the eyes without the pupils, it adds to the tar/zombie feel.

With the head shot did you try the baseball in his mouth, a bit obvious but it might fit nicely? Maybe that black type could be a little more tary.

Very cool stuff.

Very cool! Creative, unique, and gimmicky. Perfect for a minor league baseball team. My one complaint is that on the full body logo the left front leg looks detached and tacked on the rest of the body.

Dang that's sexy

Took the words right out of my mouth. This is one of the best concepts I've seen here in a while.

The primary does kinda give me a Lakewood Blue Claws feel. Did you use that for inspiration?
