If the Philadelphia Phillies went back to 1991

Recommended Posts

Ok so I love the 1970's to 1990's retro Phillies concept, so I made one of my own. I modernized the uniforms by getting rid of the shoulder/side stripes and replacing them with the triple stripes on the end of the sleeves... Advice?

I feel like something is missing... opinions, comments, complaints?

Think a lighter blue would work better for the road alternate.

Front numbers look a little bit too big to me.

Otherwise, like the whole idea.

Have you tried doing the baseball seam in the P of the hat, or have you tried that and though it too much?

Yeah, the front numbers are a bit big.

The pin striping is WAY too dense.

The blue alt should be "robin's egg blue", I think a shade or two lighter. DEFINITELY no blue jersey with the gray pants (shudder). Blue pants too or dump it altogether.

Also, the Phils have never worn "alt" jerseys in the first place (and hopefully never will), though they used to wear the burgandy for BP.

And if you're truly going to go throwback, the socks MUST be stirrups. The "negro league" look isn't awful, but it isn't MLB throwback. However, ANYTHING is better than the completely STUPID looking "pajama bottoms" most are wearing today.

Nice to see the effort regardless :-)

Get rid of the sleeve and leg piping on the pinstripe jersey, and the numbers look way too big. Good look otherwise.

100% agreed, putting piping on a pinstriped jersey is very seldomly a good look. Other than that, it's a well done job on bringing back something unique to a sport that just has too many Red/Blue/White teams.
