Are we allowed to include the KHL logo in the concept like you would see with an NBA team, or should we just leave that out?

Yes, you can include it in the concept if you want.

Makers marks?
Yeah I'll have a glass, but I'm not sure what whiskey has to do with this event.

From a PM:

I plan on using [TEAM REMOVED] as my team, but couldn't find and decent wordmarks. Would it be acceptable to rearrange the letters from the primary logo? I.E. I plan on changing them from downward curve to upward curve or possibly straight across.

[snip]

You are correct. You can remove some parts while keeping the original aspect of the logo.

However, do NOT pick bits and pieces from different logos to create a new one.

You can extract the wordmark as is, but do NOT rearrange it.

From another PM:

Can we enlarge some areas (such as hems, small logos, etc.) outside the main jersey to help others see designs, or should we only put two uniforms and a main logo in our presentation?

No. Do NOT enlarge some areas. Only submit the two uniforms and, optionally, the team logo.

Can we use throwback logos/colors on our uniforms, or strictly current design?

You can use throwback logos, but you must stick with the current colors.

From a PM:

I noticed that their primary logo is a dark blue and white, but their alternate has a different shade of blue and red also. Am I able to use the alternate's colors or must I stick with just the dark blue and white?

You can use the alternate's colors, as long as the alternate logo is currently in use. In this particular case (Sibir), the swooping H is said to still be in use on the sportslogos.net page, so you can use that blue and red.

Friendly reminder from the initial post for this event...

Reminder

Failure to follow the guidelines could result in your entry being inadvertently (or intentionally) excluded from judging.

Entries must be emailed to logolympiad (@) gmail (dot) com prior to the set deadline. Subject line should be the event number (Ex: Event 1). Once you submit your entry, it is considered final.

Entries must be submitted as .jpg, .gif or .png formats. The file name format of the submission is: event#_yourusername.extension (Ex: event1_pollux.png). The file must be attached to your email.

All final entries must be 800x600 pixels with at least 70 pixels of white space at the bottom of the image. This means that your presentation has to fit in a 800x530 pixels window (800 pixels wide by 530 pixels high). I will NOT re-size entries that are not properly done, so make sure it's right.

The background of the entries should be solid white, unless otherwise specified. You must not use gradients, shadows, patterns, lines, etc. on your background.

Do not include your name or any other personal identifiers on your submission. Also, do not watermark your work. I will add a watermark to each entry before they get posted for judging. I will also provide each entry with a number. You are expected to keep the identity of your entry anonymous until the end of the event. If you think you know the identity of another designer, keep it to yourself. Anyone who exposes the identity of themselves or anyone else will be DQ'd.

I will NOT contact you if your entry is wrong, therefore make sure that you comply to these guidelines before submitting your entry.

I will allow people who haven't read those to resubmit without penalty, but for this event only. I will flat out disqualify anyone not following those from event 2 onwards.

Again, as a reminder:

Since doing so would result in a new shade of a color, is it safe to assume sublimation would disqualify an entry?

Sublimation is not allowed.

For full disclosure: I have already received entries which shows sublimation, therefore I will contact members to allow them to correct this, as this was not clarified before.

I received an entry which uses sublimation. The member can resubmit another version without sublimation without penalty, but if he/she doesn't, then the entry will be disqualified.

I'm really looking forward to finishing my own, but my limited knowledge of English leads me to bothering you guys a little bit.

What you call sublimation is the realistic look of some templates, right ? We have to submit a 2D jersey ?!

Where do I come from ?

No, sublimation is taking a logo or other design element and layering it into the uniform at a low opacity making it kind of a background element. Not sure if that helps. But look at this concept I made for my Southland Soccer series....the clash kit has a sublimated bear paw logo on the side of the white jerseys and on the purple shorts. It ends up making a different shade of the base colors.

From another PM:

Do both the home and away uniform have to fit into the 800 x 530 space, or are they uploaded separately?

By presentation, I mean everything. In this case, both uniforms must fit into the required space, else I will disqualify the entries.

That's exactly it. You can submit on a 3D template if that is what you have.

From a PM:

Avangard Omsk uses a red/white primary logo, but have a red/white and black alternate logo. Is it ok if I use black?

Yes. Any color found on an official mark - primary logo, secondary logo, wordmark - will be accepted, even if it is not found on their hockey jersey.

So for Omsk, YES, you can use black.

I received an entry via PM as a link to click on. This is NOT allowed.

The member can resubmit his/her entry the correct way without penalty. Read on how to submit your entry on the initial post of the event.

The link shows a wordmark without any question. I assume the person wants to take part of the wordmark. It is allowed, as long as the wordmark is not modified.

Seriously, though, ask a question. I won't answer if there are no questions.

Just to make sure, if a color is included in the team's color scheme (a jersey or uniform color, for example) but isn't included on the primary logo or other logos on the site, including that color is okay, right?

As long as it is the current jersey they are using, it is allowed.

In your particular case, since you also sent a PM, you can use the uniform's color. I will however not disclose which team we are talking about since there are few entries for this team.
