Fixing the MLB (Rangers Added) (And links)(11/30) C&C NEEDED

Recommended Posts

I've decided to take some time off of my NFL thread, as I began getting inspired for MLB teams. In my MLB, every team has at least one throwback, no names (unless needed for historical accuracy in throwbacks, in which names will be replaced by city/state), and stirrups with high cuffs are mandatory. So without further adieu, the Oakland Athletics.

From now on, I will only be displaying the home set with link to the team's imgur album so as not to clog up your computer.

I didn't think that the Athletics could get an upgrade, but clearly I was wrong. Great job on these, very clean work.

White, grey, and throwback all look very good. However, the colored jerseys feel empty for the A's. Even something as small as adding neck piping would improve this a lot.

Also - no white shoes??

I like the piping on the sleeves for the A's; I have always thought their uniforms were just too plain. I wonder what the jerseys would look like with the piping around the neck as well.

Regardless, nice job on updating but not straying too far from tradition.

For the Yankees, I didn't want to change much because they're pretty much perfect, but to go along with the theme of this thread, I made some minor adjustments to the away jersey. http://imgur.com/a/1seRb

For the White Sox, a few thoughts ran through my head. The first being that they should wear WHITE SOCKS, the secind being that their away set is damn near perfect, so I incorporated aspects from that set to the non throwback jerseys. http://imgur.com/a/eiRVF

As a white sox fan they look best in knee high black sox.

Home-Keep the pinstripe, flip the socks

Away-Flip the socks

Alt-Flip the socks

I've never cared for the throwbacks you show there so they could be replaced for a nicer set like the 1959 set or the 1917 set.

First off for the White Sox you said you wanted them to wear white socks, but on the home, away, and black alt you have the socks black and the stirrups white. I would definitely switch those.

Then for the Red Sox I think you should make the stirrups all red. No navy.

My point was that the primary color you see below their legs being white, seeing as it is incredibly easy to cover up the sani's with low stirrups.

Then for the Red Sox I think you should make the stirrups all red. No navy.

I understand where you're coming from, but to me, these were the best stirrups in baseball until the "Manny pants" trend took over.

Very nice concepts here all around!

However, I have one concern: What photo hosting site do you use for these pictures? I don't know if it's just me, but your pictures make going on this page very slow. Maybe you should try Flickr or something. Just a thought~

I use imgur, could be because the template is huge.

Not bad, but please get the file size down on these!

My connection is only 6x faster than dial-up at best, and my 6 year old laptop barely has the horsepower to render the images once they're loaded!
