WSU151
Does a player have to wear a t-shirt under the vest ? what does MLB rules have to say about that .If one player wears a t-shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve) with a vest, then everyone has to wear one. You can't have one guy just go sleeveless. The MLB is pretty strict on a uniform (not just a clever word) look for the team - remember the Rangers had those braided necklackes (Phiten necklaces), and MLB said if one player wanted to wear it, everyone had to wear it. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
SilverBullet1929
Rules have probably changed but Ted Kluszewski went sleeveless for the Reds several decades ago. Search for it and there's a few pics of it. The guy's arms were big enough that despite bucking tradition he looked damn good doing it lol. rgrn2777
Not necessiarly, it seems that MLB and New Era are high on the Diamond Era Caps. I'm thinking, they'll be around for a while. If new era keeps up the pattern it's used previously, this will be the last year of the diamond era bp hats
Gothamite
But we could well have a new template for them. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
leopard88
Astros and Rangwrs have done the same thing as the Twins in the past. College nights with a hat give away matching the school colors (A&M, Texas. Baylor, Tech, TCU, etc.). Never remember them matching the visiting team they were facing though. The Twins did one for the U of Minnesota this year with a maroon and gold hat. It was ugly but at least did not represent the opponents colors (Whoever it was)Yeah, it's pretty common for teams to give away hats in the colors of nearby teams. The White Sox have done hats with the colors and logos of the Bulls, Blackhawks and Illinois. But it's still dumb to do random colors for no reason and have those colors coincide with an opponent which wears those colors. The Orioles have given away Ravens colored hats before. I have no problem with that (and actually think it's pretty cool). I just don't get giving away a hat that matches an opponent's colors. It looks like the Twins' red hat is tangentially tied in to a local college. However, giving that hat away on a day when the play the Cardinals seems to defeat the plan. TheOldRoman
The Reds wore vests then, as you can see, but Big Klu also cut the sleeves high on his jerseys when he played for the White Sox.

It's time to drop the unnecessary drop shadow and get rid of black from the color scheme. The classic colors of red and white are enough for Cincinnati.Perfection! JasonFromMiami
Thanks for the pics ! But say, what are the benefits of vests if you have a shirt underneath ?
monkeypower
It's not a fashion statement, it's a jersey style. And most people wear shirts under their vests outside of baseball too.
RoughRiders99
So, how does everybody feel about the patriotic caps that MLB has been rolling out for the past several years? I honestly don't mind them as long they're only used for one or two games (on certain pre-approved holidays, such as 4th of July) and they reasonably look good with the teams' respective colors. I mean, what's 1 game out of 162? There's plenty of time for one-offs.
FiddySicks
I don't mind those, but I've heard descriptions for the 4th of July caps this year and... Woof. Those are gonna be downright hideous. I mean, what's 1 game out of 162? There's plenty of time for one-offs. Last years were significantly better. There were at least a handful of decent ones (Colorado and a couple others), but I didn't like a single one out of this bunch. The main problem is the button and bill don't match, which for me is one of the most important rules of thumb for hats. As someone mentioned earlier, they'd do fine with just a flag patch, bunting around the stadium, and a moment of silence or something along those lines. No need to play dress up.
