I suggested this on Twitter, but the sand, light/Carolina blue and hints of yellow would make for a good combination for the Rays. Would obviously need to be presented in a different manner than their Memorial Day uniforms, but since the Padres aren't using this, the Rays should:

The Giants and A's wore their BP caps during a regular season game when they faced each other. It wasn't the same day as the Yanks, but the idea was the same

Explanations I've heard about the whole BP debacle was a mandate from the 'bove forcing each team to wear them during the season at some point, with the Yankees doing it as little as possible, just meeting their contractual responsibility. Thus far they've done it once a year (in 2014 once for the home cap and once for the road cap).

Interesting. I remember New Era making a big deal of it either last year or 2013 that all teams would be wearing their BP caps on this specific day. Maybe the Yankees had that day off and wore theirs the next day? I don't know.

The Yankees have done as little as they could get away with. They don't have a standard alt. They have one cap.

Was a similar deal struck with any of the other teams? I do seem to remember every team wearing the BP hats occasionally or at least once a year. Honestly, I can understand them feeling the Yankees BP is a lot harder to push because... why the heck is anyone going to think they want that above the standard hat when the team wears only the standard hat ever? While I believe that the camo doesn't need any extra pushing because enough people are gonna love them some camo anyway, I think the BP could use the rub.

Like I said before, all teams were forced to wear their BP caps during a regular season game. So while the other teams just rolled with "The debut of New Era's AWESOME new hat technology..." the Yankees played it off as a half-assed "yeah but cancer."

Additionally, didn't the Yankees early BP caps just look like their standard caps (minus the material)? The could have done that from the get-go.
