I wish they'd scrap even the home run derby uniforms. It'd look a whole lot better with the participants wearing thier regular home or road uniforms with the derby patches on the sleeves and caps (similar to how the NBA does it for thier All-Star Saturday events). It'd make for an aesthetically more colorful and exciting event, which is fitting considering in my eyes it's one of the most exciting events of any sport's All-Star festivities.

I think that the All-Star Teams should wear All-Star Jerseys for the big game, instead of everyone wearing their own jersey. I know it has become a tradition now but it looks better when the whole team is wearing one jersey. As for the Home Run Derby, that is when every player should wear their own jersey. I know I barely post on Baseball Threads but there is something that is driving me crazy. I watched the Blue Jays/Mets game last night and the Mets were wearing Camo. CAMO! What the hell, they looked awful. This Camo Jersey trend is getting ridiculous now. San Diego can sort of get away with it because they did it first but still, it doesn't look very good on a Sports team. I guess that's just my opinion. I like seeing Sports Teams honoring the Military, however, I don't think a bunch of teams should have a Camouflage Alternate Uniform either.

But that's the beauty of the MLB All Star Game, everyone wearing their individual uniforms but playing together. No other ASG does that (The NBA did and it looked great). It would be the wrong decision to have them use same uniforms.

They've been doing that for YEARS. It's always annoyed me. I worked for a shop last summer in Seattle that made custom Mariners jerseys and we constantly had employees messing up an order by using the wrong font on the navy jerseys.

I agree completely about the camo, but when MLB players all start wearing the same jersey for the All-Star Game, my last remaining reason for watching even part of the broadcast will have gone away. I have no interest in seeing any of the players, just the uniforms they are wearing, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Take that away and the game is even more pointless than it is now.

Looks like this time, it seems, the all star game cap has actually shown up.

Why is it front paneled? That looks so dumb, the stripes should go all around the hat.

Oh sweet Moses....kill that with lots of fire.

I don't mind the All-Star Game logo being moved to the back of the cap (if this is real), but paneled AND (partially) pillboxed? Two of my most hated hat styles personally....yikes.

I'd say it's not anything pillboxed. It's your normal six-panel hat. The stripes are just stripes.

Note that the All Star logo on the back appears to be the rubber/plastic/acrylic patch (similar to the SB patches the last couple of years) rather than a sewn logo.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Ah that's true, my mistake.

I still think it's a horrible hat though. Like, it's awful. However, upon looking at the back more, for some reason I do really like the patch on the back of the cap. I even wouldn't be upset if they tried it for the World Series, so long as the patch is still on the jersey as well somewhere.

One thing I just noticed while watching the M's-Giants game... The Mariners only use their custom number font on the navy jerseys. That's going to drive me insane forever now.

And oddly, I love that font in the wordmark but hate it for the number and nameplate. Wish the navy would use the generic block on the back like the rest.

These are much worse than the caps from last year. I hope this doesn't continue to be an all-star game thing.

I'm bummed my team is contributing to this visual pollution.
